Saving Conquest Dynamic Campaign

Figure Out Where Ostfront Saves The Dynamic Campaign File

Ostront saves the Dyamic Campaign save file it is only one file to the following path

Documents\my games\gate of hell\ a folder with a long number \campaign

In this campaign folder is the save file it will be called conquest 1.sav if you did not change the filename when you made the campaign and saved it and if this is your first campaign.

So therefore make a shortcut of the CAMPAIGN folder and put this shortcut on your desk top

Then, click on this shortcut and verify you can see the save file conquest 1.sav

If you do not see the file extension you may have to go into windows and tell it to show hidden files.

1. Ok so now you have a shortcut on your desktop that when you double click on it you see the file conquest save.

Ok great, now make a folder somewhere on your hard drive and name it something for example name it ostfront saves or ost sav let's call it ost sav

Ok so make this folder on your hard drive remembering where it is. Make another shortcut that you put on your desktop that when you click on it opens this folder. The folder will be empty.

ok so test this shortcut and when it works put a folder or in other words make a new folder .. in this folder which is called ost sav ... make a new folder in it and call it camp one.

2. When you click on the 2nd shortcut you made it takes you to the folder ost sav ... this is a folder that you make when you click on this shortcut you will see a folder called camp one ... IF you made a folder in this folder and called it Camp One.

ok so now you are all set.

3. Simply press the SAVE button while in the game in the depo area the screen where you can research and stuff ... click on SAVE this OVERWRITES whatever save file was there .. so when you click on SAVE then exit the game and click on the 1st shortcut you made it takes you to the path of the one game saved file called conquest 1.sav then COPY .. click on the right things to COPY this folder some use <cntrl> + C if this works so you are going to COPY this file ..

so copy this file and then get out of this screen or window go back to your desktop and click on the 2nd shortcut you made and WHAM you are at the folder you made inside of it and you will see a folder named Camp One if you made a folder and called it camp one. so NOW double click this folder and PASTE the conquest 1.sav file into this folder.

Go back to the game and screw something up in order to test this .. then click save now you have "lost" the original conquest 1.sav you had .. but you can now open your 2nd shortcut copy this file which is the original conquest 1.sav and then OVERWRITE the file at the 1st shortcut the game path folder you overwrite this file you saved to the game save file of conquest 1.sav that is in the path folder.

Now when you reload the game or start it up it will be back to normal when you click on load.

Pro Tip:::: You may want to have various saves at various times for example you start a campaign you research some stuff buy some units to do your first battle you click on SAVE .. so now exit the game save this using the shortcuts .. in other words back up this file then fight the battle .. let's say you do something stupid no problem just overwrite the file that the game automatically generates when you retreat and wham you back to beginning of the battle again at the depot ready to try again.

Pro TIP most important ... one .. Do many saves .. just put each of them in a separate folder by themselves because they all have the same file name for example conquest 1.sav when you back up the game save file whenever you do simply put each different save in a separate folder so you can at least have the option to do a redo ..

for example I save before a battle and then after a battle and i do this each battle and i name them .. the folders I make INSIDE THE 2ND SHORTCUT FOLDER I name them Battle 2 Prep then Battle 2 Ready battle 1 prep save is done as soon as I return from battle 1 then after I buy and research I do a save and call it Battle 2 ready now I can go to battle if I mess up I do a reload .. if I mess up buying and selling units I do a reload.

This is especially nice when your 5 or more battles deep into the campaign ..
