Those things exist to heal your entire team of typical health loss.
For deep wounds and only two or three allies, medicae stations are more efficient.
Do not hold out on your team and inflict them with deep wounds as a result of your impulse to hold onto healing crates "for emergencies".
Because when an emergency DOES strike, it'll kill your entire team all at once.
No amount of passive healing will prevent being thrown off a ledge, captured in a net, being eaten alive by a dog or any other myriad of elite-inflicted fatalities.
What said item can do, however, is preemptively buffer your team's life from being taken in an instant; buying you and they time to save one another.
