A Side By Side Comparison
To start, here is a side by side comparison of sending Spaced Blues and Clumped Reds, since I have not seen any guides or videos comparing the two, so I made one.
I will note that the video needs to be edited. The Spaced Blues make 295~ eco right as the Clumped Reds make 310~ Eco. The numbers will change depending on how quickly you and your opponent pop the balloons that are sent during the rounds.
Advantages To Each Side
So there is one small advantage that spaced blues have over spaced reds at the beginning, it is the amount of money extra that you get at the start for not constantly sending clumped reds, you get an extra 400~ Coins depending on how long the rounds last.
However Clumped Reds still give more eco even after the nerf to clumped balloons
I also noticed that if you are playing against players who are new to the game, a lot of the time you can get first blood because there isn't a lot of towers that can defend a large clump of balloons at once. This won't work once you get into later arenas though.

-If you want to survive early game, 2-0-0 boomerang monkey and your hero will defend until grouped greens.
-Note: after the tack shooter nerf, you might want to look into other options. The 2-0-3 Tack Sprayer is not very powerful anymore.
-If you do not care a lot about First Blood, you can rush for a 3-0-0 Boomerang monkey, into a 3-0-2.
