Where To Get Mods For Wartales
Currently, the game has no official mod support, so, the Steam Workshop for it is unavailable. The best and safest source of Wartales mods is on Wartales Nexus.
Step 1. Backup Your Game's Files!
Before installing any mod, it is recommended that you backup all relevant files from your game's installation folder. In case of Wartales, you only need to worry about one file (res.pak), and folder with your saved games.
You can find your game's installation folder in following ways:
Right-click Wartales in your Steam Library, and select "Manage" -> "Browser Local Files". This will directly take you to your game's installation folder.
Alternatively, you can locate your game manually by going to:
This PC -> [Drive That Contains Steam Library] -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> Wartales.
From your game's installation folder, you need to copy two things:
Your res.pak file:
And your saves. Due to how the game names the save files, eg. save[number].dat, I recommend you copy entire save folder:
Store it in location of your choosing, I recommend folder on your Desktop:
Step 2. Install Your Mod
From Wartales Nexus, download the mod you chose
(do mind, that this requires you to make Nexus account, and be logged in):
After downloading, you will have an compressed file (.rar, .zip., .7z) in your download folder, extract it's contents:
After extracting the files, copy them (Ctrl + C):
And paste them in the game's installation folder you found in Step 1..
Choose the option "Replace the file in the destination":
And that's it!
Congratulations, you just modded your game, enjoy!
If anything goes wrong after that, you can use backups you made in Step 1. to restore your game.
