Purpose
Very simple, cut down as many enemies as possible and have tons of fun while doing it. Essentially, this is another pure damage dealer build that shines when engaging with multiple enemies.
Convenience
Easy to pull off, no special armor or weapon is required to make it work. Like most of the builds I play with, its strength comes from actual skills and attributes rather than gear.
Core Idea
The Executioner shines when engaging lots of light or medium armored units. The idea is to locate tightly grouped spots of enemies and rush in. We can use starting positions or allow enemies to gather near the frontline, and then move in.
Aptitude Points
Willpower - 15
Movement - 20 to 22
Rest goes to the strength
Skills & Profession
Profession
Blacksmith is the way. It buffs up the strength and it’s a very useful profession to craft great equipment for the entire squad.
Skills
Level 2 – Executioner
Level 3 – Valorous chain
Level 5 – Fanaticism
Level 8 – Challenging Shout
Level 10 – Lone Wolf
Level 12 – Class specialization - Battle Cry
Utility skills
Wrath
Run
Equipment
Armor and helmet
Any medium armor should do. Most of the time, I use crafted gear, which is surprisingly good in this game
Helmet stamp
Many good options are out there, but I prefer “Stimulating Coating” for this build. Ideally, this character shouldn’t have any debuffs, so we get a flat out 20% damage increase.
Armor layers
I wanted to maximize the strength for this build, so I’m using the “Hessura Brooch” three times. It will increase the strength at the cost of armor, but for this specific build and the way it plays out, we don’t really need much armor. Just enough to survive if something goes wrong.
Weapon
Any two-handed axe should do, I usually use a crafted one, which is perfectly fine
Weapon oils
The Brave’s oil – I’m usually very conscious of valor consumption, so this oil is fantastic for regenerating valor when we use skills.
Perforating oil – it will ignore 50% of guard, which is very very good, when going against targets with high armor and guard.
Belt accessory
We opt for The Brave’s oil concentrate, which increases the chance of applying oil effects by another 50%. This means that every time we use a skill that requires valor, we gain it back.
Gameplay
Final Thoughts
What else is there to say? Super fun and satisfying build to play.
If you'd like to get even more details about the skills and various aspects of the build, I've written an extensive post about it on my blog. Feel free to check that as well.
