Low Requirement Gold Farm

Low Requirement Gold Farm

Introduction

Did you recently start/restart this game and want to make a lot of gold fast? This is the guide for you. You don't have to do insane amounts of grinding for thousands of Golden Eggs just to get started getting millions of gold.

Clearly, if you've already unlocked everything and have thousands of Golden Eggs, you don't need this guide and I have nothing to teach you.

While this is technically an idle build, you'll make more, faster, if you walk around and destroy the block/square shaped enemies called "Diamonds" by the wiki.

You can easily trigger Gold Fevers in excess of 100k with this guide. The key is smashing the "Diamonds" as much as possible.

If you want to focus more on being idle, you can choose to go without using Inverse mode and only take the XXI, XV and VIII Arcana. You'll have to be extra careful not to destroy the purple Arcana chests with Pentagram, if you go this route.

Unlike other guides, I'm actually going to include a section on how to unlock all of the things you'll need. Since this includes nearly beating the game, expect this will be kind of long. Of course, feel free to skip the sections you don't need. That said, I don't plan to explain things that aren't required.

I went with the IV Arcana for survival, which pairs well with buying Tiragisú from the Merchant. However, if you want to focus on gold, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the VIII Arcana instead. This is what the active version of the build looks like. Though, I admit to idling a lot during this particular run. This is one of my higher Gold Fevers during a run using Duplicator instead of Clover.

It's worth noting that these builds were using Clover instead of the preferred Duplicator passive on a character with 0 Golden Eggs.

Requirements

The most important thing to this build is unlocking the Bat Country stage.

While I recommend Pepperino, you can actually use this build with any character. The main benefits of Pepperino are the magnet range and the starting weapon.

Finally, you need the following Arcanas as a minimum: XXI, XV, VIII, IV.

I know this sounds like a lot of requirements but, when you consider the level of grind for this guide compared to pretty much any other gold farming guide I've read, this is a really low bar. I really think any guide expecting you to start gold farming with Thousands of Eggs is Bat Country Insane.

The only way to lower the bar anymore would be to simply say "Use Arcana XV with your favorite build on your favorite map." and that would be the whole guide. Even then, you're maybe making 10-20k gold per run at best. Honestly, you'll get more Golden Eggs (9 per run) killing the 4 Masked Guardians (1 per) and Death (5 per) than you will from directly farming gold at that point. I'd recommend the Solid Blood (see Suggested - Builds) build or something similar, if you're going to farm Golden Eggs that way.

As I mentioned, I'll be telling you how to unlock what you need in the next sections. There's nothing more annoying than a guide that just assumes you have everything unlocked and already know everything there is to know about the game and then you have to waste a lot of time looking all those things up.

Requirements - Bat Country

The Bat Country stage is probably the most important requirement to this entire build.

To unlock it, all you have to do is reach level 80 on Mad Forest. Easy, right? Well, except for the part where you need to do it on Inverse mode.

The difficult part of all this is unlocking Inverse mode in the first place.

To start out, you'll need to unlock Stage 5 Cappella Magna. Of course, that means you have to unlock the previous stages as well. This means reaching level 20 on Stage 1, level 40 on Stage 2, level 60 on Stage 3 and level 80 on Stage 4. If you want a recommended build, start with Noob Saibutt and switch to Solid Blood after it becomes available. See Suggested - Builds section for further info on those builds.

After you unlock Stage 5, you have to unlock Moongolow. This requires you to unlock Hyper on the first 4 stages. To do that, you have to beat the bosses that spawn at the 25 minute mark on each stage. If you did well on previous runs, it should already be unlocked.

You need to survive on Moongolow for 14 minutes with a "standard character" other than Sir Ambrojoe, Divano, Gallo, Zi'Assunta or Gyorunton. Most people recommend using Poe for this and I agree. You should be able to get through with your favorite build. This will unlock the Holy Forbidden stage where you have to race to the end without getting killed. Doing so will unlock the Yellow Sign. From this point on, the Liquid Blood build should be available but Solid Blood is likely going to be easier in most cases.

If you want to make things a little easier on yourself, you could use the Liquid Blood build to try to beat Death on your favorite stage. Doing so would unlock Red Death, a very fast character with a lot of health and an evolved starting weapon. Alternatively, you could use Solid Blood to try to unlock Gains Boros on Stage 4.

Now, you need to unlock Eudaimonia Machine. This requires you to get all the standard Relics.

If you've been grabbing them as you go, you should already have:

Grim Grimoire - Found on the West side of Stage 2.

Ars Gouda - Found on the South side of Stage 3.

Milky Way Map - Found near Ars Gouda.

Magic Banger - Found South East on Green Acres, which should have been unlocked already.

Randomazzo - Found on the North side of Stage 4.

Sorceress' Tears - Found on the South side of Stage 4.

Glass Vizard - Sold by the Merchant on Moongolow.

Mindbender - Automatically unlocked once you fill in 50 items on the Collection page. Should be complete already.

This leaves two Relics to collect.

Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane - Dropped by Sketamari due south of The Bone Zone.

Great Gospel - Dropped by the final enemy in Cappella Magna.

Killing Sketamari doesn't require any special kind of build. You just need to find the ball of bones rolling around horizontally on the South side of The Bone Zone and kill it without letting it roll over too many enemies. The easiest way is to grab a character, like Red Death or Gains Boros, that has a decently fast run speed and an evolved starter weapon and run straight to Sketamari and start fighting it right away. You can kill it without any Golden Eggs but having Golden Eggs helps. This took me a few tries.

There's nothing special about getting the Great Gospel. You take your strongest character and build to Stage 5, survive until the end and defeat the boss Ender. The boss himself just slowly approaches you while area attacks are dropped wherever red zones appear. It's slow and a bit tedious but not too hard. Surviving long enough to reach the boss is harder than fighting the boss.

Now that Eudaimonia Machine has been unlocked, all you have to do is go there and make a choice. If you answer "Too Easy" you unlock Inverse mode. If you answer "Too Hard" you unlock Endless mode. Regardless of what you choose first, all you have to do is start a map with the mode you unlocked and return to Eudaimonia Machine to unlock the other mode.

Congrats, you can finally try to reach level 80 on Inverse Mad Forest to unlock Bat Country. I recommend using the Solid Blood build and your favorite character but do it however you want.

Requirements - Pepperino

First, you need to unlock Il Molise. If you followed the guide for unlocking Bat Country, you've done that already.

Next, you need to unlock O'Sole. You can use the Celestial Dusting weapon on any character but it's generally a waste of time to not just use O'Sole since you have to unlock him to unlock the weapon.

To unlock him, you have to kill 3000 Dragon Shrimp. Dragon Shrimp is an enemy that appears in Gallo Tower, Boss Rash and The Bone Zone. If you followed my advice in the Bat Country section, you can just go to Gallo Tower Endless mode with Red Death and either the Solid Blood or Liquid Blood build, glitch your way through the wall of the tower and just chill outside the range of any spawning bosses. It's only a matter of time before you'll get the unlock.

Once you have O'Sole, limit him to 1 weapon slot and head to Il Molise. You can use Hurry mode to try to speed things up. Now, just run in a circle until you hear the unlock sound.

Congrats, you now have Pepperino.

Requirements - Arcanas

I'm going to assume you already unlocked Bat Country. This means you've likely already unlocked Arcana mode.

XXI - If you followed my guide for unlocking Bat Country and used Poe, as I recommended, you probably already unlocked it. You have to reach level 50 as Poe. I recommend using the Solid Blood build and your favorite stage. I favor Stage 2, personally.

XX - You'll need to reach minute 31 or kill Death on Stage 3. I recommend using the Liquid Blood build. It's how I accidentally killed Death on Stage 2, while unlocking Crimson Shroud and Infinite Corridor. It's also how I intentionally unlocked this Arcana.

XV - The same as XX but for Stage 2. I unlocked it by accident along with Red Death doing exactly as I said already.

XIII - Reach level 50 with Christine. Once again, I recommend the Solid Blood build and Stage 2.

IX - Reach level 50 with Clerici. My recommendation remains the same as the previous two.

VIII - This same as XV and XX except for Stage 1. My recommendation remains the same.

VI - Unlocks automatically.

IV - Reach level 50 with Krochi. Same story, different character.

III - Reach level 50 with Porta. More of the same.

I - Reach level 50 with Pugnala. Again, it's the same.

The rest of the Arcana don't seem too appealing to me but they all have similar unlock requirements.

Suggested - Characters

My recommended character progression is:

Antonio -> Gennaro -> Poe (Rank 7 Garlic) -> Krochi (Kill 100k enemies) -> Concetta (Coffin in Gallo Tower) -> Red Death (Kill Death)

There's no choice with Antonio.

Gennaro just seems to survive better than the other starter characters. This is especially true if you just constantly charge forward with his starter weapon upgraded.

If you manage to get Garlic to Rank 7, you can skip straight to Poe, one of the better normal characters. As much as I like Poe, I feel like Krochi is a little more forgiving to new players.

Technically, you can completely skip Concetta. She's a fun character that is best played by constantly being on the move. As such, she benefits a lot from directional weapons like the Whip (and Vento Sacro) and Knives. Honestly, all the characters can be fun but she requires such a different play style that I just wanted to mention her.

Unlocking Red Death with Krochi isn't too hard. I just don't see any character replacing Red Death as my favorite but I still haven't tried all the secret characters.

By all means, these are just suggestions. If you fancy a different character than I've recommended, don't let me stop you. At the end of the day, we're all just here to enjoy playing a game and I'm no judge of how others can have fun.

Suggested - Builds

Here's a list of useful builds for doing the things I say need to be done to unlock the various requirements. These builds are good for just about any character.

Noob Saibutt (Very Early)

Weapons:

Magic Wand (Empty Tome) - Only good when compared to the Whip, 5/10.

Knives (Bracer) - Low-key useful early on, 8/10.

Axe (Candelabrador) - Available from the start, 8/10.

Garlic (Pummarola) - Easy Unlock, 9/10.

Fire Wand (Spinach) - Easy Unlock, 7/10.

Cross (Clover) - Easy Unlock, 6/10.

Pentagram (Crown) - Easy Unlock, 7/10, powerful evolved but annoying before then.

Runetracer (Armor) - Easy Unlock, 7/10.

Santa Water (Attractorb) - Easy Unlock, 9/10.

Lightning Ring (Duplicator) - Requires rank 7 Magic to evolve, 8/10.

All the passive items can be useful but certain ones like the Duplicator really stand out.

Try to pick the weapons you have passives to evolve unlocked. Pentagram is a difficult recommend at the very early levels because of the difficulty evolving but it has amazing staying power for your run once evolved.

Evolving Knives and/or the Axe is often what makes or breaks runs on the first two stages. While Magic is useful, I've yet to have it save a run.

Avoid the Whip at all costs. The Whip is only good in its final form (Fuwalafuwaloo) and, even then, it's not that useful while stationary.

Solid Blood (Early-Late)

Arcanas:

XXI - Damage

VIII - Magnet

XV - Gold and healing

IV - Extra LivesWeapons:

Garlic (Pummarola)

Pentagram (Crown)

King Bible (Spellbinder)

Santa Water (Attractorb)

Song of Mana (Skull O'Maniac) or Phiera Der Tuphello and Eight The Sparrow (Tiragisú) or Gatti Amari (Stone Mask) or LaurelOptional: Duplicator, Torrona's Box, Wings, Spinach, Candelabrador

This build assumes you haven't obtained the Yellow Sign, yet. So, you aren't expected to evolve Laurel and will not see Clock Lancet recommended.

Pick two of the optional 5th weapons, if you picked a character that comes with one of these.

The list of passives are optional, in the event you can obtain a needed one from floor drops. For example, you can get Stone Mask and Empty Tome as floor items on Stage 2.

Be warned, the evolved form of the guns can cause a bit of lag but the same can be said for Gatti Amari.

Liquid Blood/Blood Gold (Mid-Late)

Arcanas:

XXI - Damage

VIII - Magnet

XV - Gold and healing

IV - Extra LivesWeapons:

Garlic (Pummarola)

Pentagram (Crown)

Song of Mana (Skull O'Maniac) or Gatti Amari (Stone Mask)

Laurel

Clock Lancet

Optional: Santa Water (Attractorb)Passives:

Attractorb

Duplicator

Tiragisú

Optional: Torrona's Box, Wings, Spinach, Candelabrador

Good general purpose and flexible build for mid-late game. Obviously, heavily related to the Solid Blood build. The main difference being you're trying to make Infinite Corridor and Crimson Shroud.

The only Arcana I consider mandatory is XXI, for its sheer damage throughout an entire run. Only Flock Destroyer and Infinite Corridor can knock it out of the top damage spot, from what I've seen.

I'm 50/50 on whether to get XXI or VIII first. VIII gives easy access to drops early and XXI gives a nice damage boost early. I'd try VIII first and switch to XXI, if you're struggling to survive.

Santa Water is recommended, if you need a 6th weapon.

If you use IV, it's the Liquid Blood variant. If you use XV, it's the Blood Gold variant. If you somehow chose to use both, I guess just call it Liquid Gold.

This is the build I murdered Death (Red variant) with the first time.

The Build - Golden Blood

Character: Pepperino (Alternatively, any other character except Queen Sigma.)

Stage: Bat Country (Could probably be done on any other stage but Inlaid Library and Il Molise would be easier than others.)

Modes:

Active

Idle

Arcanas:

XXI - This will heavily boost damage early on and help you level up.

XV - Get this for gold and healing.

VIII - This will drag stage items to you and make Gold Fevers happen more frequently.

IV - Bonus lives and you get stronger each time you revive. This is key to long term runs.

XIII - This boosts Growth, Luck, Greed and Curse. All will be useful in the long term.

I - This is to heavily boost the damage from Gatti Amari.

VI - Another healing boost.

XX - For a low lag build variant.Weapons:

Soul Eater - Default for Pepperino and primary weapon at the start. Kills off weaker waves by itself and provides a source of healing.

Greatest Jubilee - Used to spawn light sources to help generate Gold Fevers.

Pentagram (Crown) - Useful for grinding levels once evolved. Insta-kills most enemies.

King Bible (Spellbinder) - A stronger second ring of defense on the edge of Soul Eater's perimeter.

Santa Water (Attractorb) - Kills most stuff that gets past the King Bible defensive line.

Laurel - Temporary invincibility and your last line of defense. Prevents being one-shot later on.

Gatti Amari (Candybox) - A source of high damage, though it slowly drains your health.

Mannajja (Super Candybox II Turbo) - Repels enemies and acts as another line of defense.Passives:

Crown - Needed for Pentagram.

Spellbinder - Needed for King Bible.

Attractorb - Needed for Santa Water and to help gather items.

Stone Mask - Needed for Gatti Amari and boosts gold.

Wings - Needed for mobility. (Specific to Pepperino)

Duplicator - Increases Amount which can greatly boost the effectiveness of most weapons.

It's not strictly necessary, you'll probably want to Seal floor items you don't really need.

You'll want to keep buying as many useful Arcanas as you can, along with extra lives.

Other than that, you can choose to either walk in circles to minimize your chance of dying or just AFK and deal with things, when you revive.

As I mentioned at the start, you can make it purely an idle build by turning off Inverse mode and picking the first 3 Arcanas.

If you want to greatly reduce lag, you can probably make it work by using Arcana XX and limiting your weapons to just 2-3. You can even avoid upgrading Greatest Jubilee past rank 7 by Banishing it. Keep in mind that you'll probably want to stock up on Golden Eggs to make it really work at that point.

The basic cycle is: Level up by constantly running around and smashing Diamonds while buying useful Arcanas and Revives, when available. Due to interactions between the Weapons, Passives and Arcanas, you'll be chaining Gold Fevers. The Gold Fevers will constantly bring in a stream of gold, which also keep you healed. Short of being one-shot, you can't die during a Gold Fever. The risk is when Gold Fever is down. Of course, Laurel is there to mitigate that risk of being one shot. Meanwhile, you have VIII bringing in light sources every 2 minutes and Greatest Jubilee (based on Luck) also bringing in light sources. Between all the light sources and "Diamonds" you have a large potential for creating new Gold Fevers.

Even though the build works great without any Golden Eggs, it will obviously get stronger as you collect them.

I realize this isn't a perfect build by any means. However, it's one I've refined a bit through trial and error. If I notice any major improvements that I can make without requiring more of grind, I'll update it.
