Starting In The Lobby
Welcome to the trials, you probably see a lot of random players running by- with some seemingly more crazy then the rest.
This guide is here to help you with socialising and breaking down...
Every kind of player you will come across in this lovely therapy!
Part 1/3: The Inhabitants Of Outlast
Listing every player you could potentially come across in this game with descriptions and insights about their motive and likeliness of being a good teammate.
(This is personal experience / hearsay from fellow high ranking friends of mine.)
(IF you're someone that gets offended easily, then please cry somewhere else :3)
Fresh New AgentThese are the MOST common in the therapy. They're brand new players that are eager to play as soon as they got out of the tutorial!
Most of them are really nice to see populating the lobby, with their Murkoff branded shirts and ESOP's. With these players however, some decide to spam invites constantly to higher ranked players to "carry" them, and it gets very annoying.
Thankfully, Red Barrels added
the ability to block invites from spammers.
Agents w/ Event CosmeticsNew or veteran players that have just participated in the most recent special events
(Room full of the recent posters, decor, etc)
Another very common player in the game, since the events are moments that bring the whole community together, they often are in parties of their friends or looking for a group of friends to play more of the most recent event.
Original Reagent OutfitsThese players are usually either newer players who just did their first ever ending (Program X) or old veteran players that have a sense of nostalgia for the original format of Program X, with some being strangely egotistical toward newer players due to being around when the original Program X had the original missions.
Usually they are chill, however a lot of sweaty people will use the "Good Doctor" or "Blitz Wimpy"
Special Event OutfitsThese players are usually somewhat high to highest level that grinded for the first special event outfits and cosmetics
(Program Geister gave 1-2 tokens per match)
(Clothes were 1-2 tokens / Outfits were 20)
Players that wear these are usually high ranking and love to flex to the lobby that they did the event as it was a pivotal time for Outlast Trials and their system for special events.
(I love flexing Uncle Sam :3)
Part 2/3: Matchmaking Experience
When you are deciding to go into Group Finder (Matchmaking) in this game, here are some very helpful situations you WILL come across! (NOTE: Have fun waiting for a while)
No-MicsThis is pretty straight forward but one of the MOST common players you will run into in the therapy.
Since the literal base fundamentals of this game is voice communication, these players are often the weakest links in the team, and the other members of the team end up having to work around them. Not every "No Mic" is inherently bad at the game, however most often these players will simply wait for you to do everything and then run to the shuttle to get an A+
Chatty PeopleAnother very straight forward description. These kinds of players are super talkative and engagingly fun to talk to, cracking jokes and talking about various different subjects / silliness. If you are in a lobby with one of these people and you guys get along rather well..
ADD THEM IMMEDIATELY because they are truly very hard to come across, and are crucial for solid strategy / communication on new events in this games.
(I'm thankful to my Chatty friends for dealing with me and keeping me engaged in this game.)
High Ranked Players with NO Loadouts or RigsIf you see a max ranked player with no rig or loadout whatsoever.. F#cking leave. Leave ASAP.
These players are notorious with toxicity and trolling. Often they will make their usernames associated with an original Program X mission called "Naked and Afraid" where in that mission, you had to do an entire Fun Park trial without any Class Rigs or Loadouts.
They are arrogant, egotistical no-lifers that do not work with you as a team, they think they are better than you at everything and have no social skills whatsoever unless talking sh!t. AVOID these people at all costs, please. You'll thank me for dodging that bullet of a horrible teammate.
Part 3/3: Making Friends
With all this information in mind, now dealing with the main topic / question
How do I socialise in Outlast Trials?
Chat with People: If I wanted to play a game with no communication, I'd just play solo.
Be Friendly: Not hard to just be personable and fun.
Don't do Nothing: If you're gonna play with others, don't just let everyone do everything.
I hope with more updates and features with the console cross-play, we will see more fun people to play with :3
Thank you for reading!
