Dumpling Acquisition Guide

Dumpling Acquisition Guide

Preamble

So Dumplings, you’ve probably seen them or you’ve seen the achievements, or if you're anything like me, the Dumpling master of Rhodia has just displayed to you the majesty of an all Dumpling team and now you want one too. So you’ve searched the internet for just how you’re supposed to get all the different Dumplings. The good news is you can get them but the bad news it is both complicated and requires a lot of grind. On one the forums somewhere it was said it best, “they’ll probably be the last thing you unlock”. So I’ve been working really hard to gather all the dumplings so let me share everything I know.

What Are Each Of The Dumplings?

There are eight dumplings in total and I’ve listed them below in the order you most likely acquire them in.

1. Nugget Dumpling

2. Veggie Dumpling

3. Pudding Dumpling

4. Dumpling

5. Squash Dumpling

6. Melon Dumpling

7. Omelette Dumpling

8. King Dumpling

Forgive the Colors, Stats, and Decorations. I have fused some of the dumplings I use in battle. I've returned them to their original names before I screenshot them.

How Do I Get Them?

Everything I know. No mana can be gained from Master of Rhodia battles, if you didn't already know that. Alwasy cool to see the Dumpling Master but they won't help you find them.

The Nugget will be the easiest though I use that term loosely. You’ll build progress toward them by fighting Treasure Golems, it doesn’t matter if the golem flees simply entering into battle and surviving will net 10 mana toward the 100 needed to get a Nugget.

The Dumpling Each standard Dumpling slain grants 1 mana of progress out of the 100 you need. All of the progress is going to be luck based as even with the Dumplings never flee realm effect you still have to get them to spawn. The standard Dumpling will have a very low chance spawn in any realm, I still don’t know what that number is. Some realms add Percent chances, at certain levels of favor for dumplings to spawn when you interact with things in that realm. Like 5% Chance to Spawn Dumplings from Cocoons. The can also be spawned from pandemonium shrines, which will give you a dialogue about a cute little creature made of dough. The only other thing that can give progress is a nether room in which five dumplings spawn.

So what about the remaining ones? Well that is where it gets complicated. Each of the other Dumplings have a prerequisite that has to be met before you'll even get a chance to gather mana for them. Then it is time to pray to the RNG gods to bless your luck.

The Pudding Dumpling is simple, you only have to fuse two Dumplings together and it'll give 100 mana to summon one. I believe any Dumpling works, I fused a Nugget and a Veggie Dumpling so I know that combo at least works.

The Veggie Dumpling can't be found unless you have a Dumpling in your party. I have only thoroughly tested the Nugget but I have no reason to think it wouldn't work for any of the others. The Vegetable Dumpling spawns from any % chance you have for a standard Dumpling. It'll spawn in place of the standard dumpling occasionally.

The Omelette gains 1 mana toward summoning for each new depth you descend. It'll only add progress with the Standard Dumpling in your party while you descend.

The Squash can only be found in Apocranox's realm. You must have a standard Dumpling in your party and eat squash off the ground. There's small chance while doing this that'll be given 100 mana for the Squash Dumpling.

The Melon can only be found in Torun's realm. You must have a standard Dumpling in your party and eat fruit off the ground. There's small chance while doing this that'll be given 100 mana for the Melon Dumpling.

The King Dumpling you elusive creature you, he can only be found inside nether portals and he is a mini boss fight beat him and you get 100 mana to summon him. You have to have SIX dumplings in your party one of each to even have a chance of this. The Nugget does not seem to count so this is your party; Veggie/Dumpling/Pudding/Squash/Melon/Omelette

This is a stupidly low chance to happen when you enter a nether portal. About as rare if not more so than the five dumplings in the room (I've played 200+ hours and five dumplings has happened like 3 times). You're going to think you are doing something wrong and that it is not working long before you actually find him.

Questions, Tips, And RNG

I am currently playing through at a very leisurely pace to max out favor with all the Gods of Rhodia, If I find that there are better or alternate ways to get Dumplings I'll update that but so far...

Best Realms to find Dumplings?

Regalis' Realm the Arachnid Nest. At Favor Rank 12 you'll get your first +50% Dumpling spawn chance and by Favor Rank 30 you'll have another +50% Dumpling Spawn, -50% Chance for a Dumpling to flee, and 5% chance for cocoons, what the game calls victims, to Spawn a Dumpling. By Favor Rank 95 You'll have a combined +200% Dumpling Spawn chance, Dumplings Never Flee, a much higher chance for Pandemonium Shrines, 5% chance from Cocoons and Ichor.

What do the Percent chances modify and how does it calculate it?

I wish I knew. I’m not a numbers kind of person and even then what is actually happening behind the scene is obfuscated by all of the RNG percent chance for XYZ. Like +50% Dumplings Spawn chance, does that affect all spawn chances or just the global chance to spawn one at the start of a level? What is Global chance to begin with? All stuff that I don’t know and thus I’m left with how things feel and educated guesses.

I believe it affects all chances except the Pandemonium Shrine, Which would mean 5% would eventually become 15% and while I definitely notice Dumplings spawns more frequently but RNG makes it feel like I'm not reaching that 15%. Especially when there's like 3-4 Cocoons and Ichors on each map.

Do I need to proceed to a new depth to find Dumplings?

No, definitely not. It doesn't seem to affect the frequency of them if grind out the same depth or proceed to the next one. The Omelette is the only one affected by realm depth as far as I can tell.

Do my Dumplings need to be unfused or can I fuse them?

I got all of my Dumplings with them fused. It'll work either way,

Tips Having 100 mana for a Veggie Dumpling doesn't stop them from spawning in.

Treasure Golem and Dumpling spawn chances are seperate and can happen at the same time.

Having a Dumpling in your party seems to increase your chances of finding them and any Dumpling seems to count.
