Guide 2

What Are Pets?

Pets are non-player characters which are useful in their own way. Prior to pets gaining abilities, they were used for decoration only, and were limited to a few types. Pets have basically devalued drake eggs, which once featured heavily in people's inventories when soloing 5 grave dungeons.

Depending on the rarity of pets, they will have a number of active abilities.

Pets are obtained by 'hatching' eggs in a players pet yard. This is done be double-clicking, or Shift-clicking on the egg when you are in the pet yard.

There are currently 5 types of eggs.

Common.

These eggs hatch common pets. Anyone can hatch them.

Uncommon.

These eggs hatch uncommon pets. Requires one pet yard upgrade.

Rare.

These eggs hatch rare pets. Requires tier 2 pet yard upgrade.

Legendary.

These eggs hatch legendary pets. Requires tier 3 pet yard upgrade.

Specialized.

These eggs hatch common pets. What the pet is, is predetermined. They are dropped from dungeon bosses that correspond with the pets. E.g. Demon Frog eggs drop from Archdemon Malphas in the Abyss of Demons. Robobuddy eggs drop from Dr. Terrible in Mad Labs.

Other abilities

Savage

Decoy

-If your pet is closer to the enemies than you are, the enemies will shot towards it rather than you.

Electric

-Paralyzes enemies for a short period of time. Also damages over time.

Rising fury

-Unleashes an area effect attack on enemies

Each ability has its pros and cons, and the rest of this guide will be heavily opinion based, and will differ from player to player.

Ability Explainations, And Combos

With all pets, they have 3 abilities. These are unlocked depending on the rarity of the pet.

Common pets have access to their first ability, and a max level of 30.

After that, max levels can differ due to fusing, but more on that later.

Typically,

Uncommon pets have access to the first two abilities, and a max level of 50 (normally)

Rare pets have access to the first two abilities, and a max level of 70 (normally)

Legendary pets have access to all 3 abilities, and a max level of 90 (normally)

And finally, Divine pets have a max level of 100 (normally), and use all three abilities.

Pet abilities increase in power, and frequency with leveling. The higher level a pets ability, the better that ability will be.

For all players, starters, and older players, I suggest finding a pet that is at least uncommon, with Heal and MP Heal as its first two abilities. Why? Simple. Heal heals your HP, meaning you can take more shots, and MP Heal heals MP, meaning you can spam the spacebar more often.

In my opinion, a pet with Heal, MP Heal, and Electric is the best possible pet. This will of course differ according to the class, and play style of players.

With 9 different abilities, there are a total of 504 different combinations. Of course, this includes Heal, MP Heal, Electric, AND MP Heal, Heal, Electric. So in reality, there is a total of 84 different ability combinations you can get.

This is a list of opinion based ability combinations.

Savage+Decoy

-One of the worst possible, unless you can deal out damage quickly. First of all, the pet is dragging shots. Second of all, the pet will jump on the enemy, then jump back to YOU. Which of course means that your fancy dodging skills will really have to work hard.

Advice: Don't use this pet. Ever.

Heal+MP Heal+Electric

-Brilliant. Especially as a knight, because the Electric keeps the enemy in one place, while the MP Heal increases the number of times you can stun. Works well for all other classes.

Advice: If you get a pet like this, don't fuse it until max. This combination is really OP in the right hands.

Heal+MP Heal

-Basic. Heal HP, and heal MP. What more could you want?

Attack close+Savage

-Useful for dealing a lot of damage at higher levels. NOT useful if your pet does more damage than you. Why? Because pets can steal soulbounds. Yes, that's right, your darling pet WILL NOT give you its drops. At least not at the moment.

Advice: Use with a character that can deal a lot of soulbound damage, good for ending fights faster. Don't use if you want soulbounds, but can't do much soulbound damage

Decoy+ *Rogue*

-Simply bad. As a rogue, your main strength is being invisible to enemies. With a pet that gets shot at, its like having another player there to ruin your cloaking time.

Advice: Its suicide. renders your cloak absolutely useless.

Electric+Savage

-Insta-paralyze. See an enemy? Your pet will proceed to jump onto it, then paralyze it. Allowing you to take pot shots at them without going close.

Advice: Good for long range classes with low def because they don't have to get close to utilize the Electric ability.
