To follow this path, you will need the Challenge Pack DLC.

When you complete the mission "Ernie's Paradise" you will unlock the reward "Legend of Motorsport".

Now you can start a career with a new background and new perks where you are a legend of the Motorsport.

  • Every driver, engineer and manager always wants to negotiate contracts with you.
  • Your team will start with +50 marketability.
Partnership

To use this partnership, you will need the Challenge Pack DLC.

When you complete the mission "Headstart for Hawkins" you will unlock the reward "Nippon investor".

The perk is that the risk of every illegal part is lowered of -1. So the "low risk" part will be without risk, the "medium risk" will be "low risk", and so on.

The starting budget will be 10M.

2016

Overall Season Strategy

Your Drivers

Day one

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 27
  • Promote 3rd driver to improve marketability. Scout Franky Kynney and Nevada Mellado, high markeability and paying drivers. Fill the scout lists with all the GT drivers and more, to be ready to negotiate with interesting drivers in the next seasons.

Race 2/3

  • Hire Franky Kynney and fire Bernard Zielinski.

Half season

  • Fire Charlotte Bailey and hire Nevada Mellado.
Cash Flow And Sponsorships

Following this guide, you will lose from 500k to 1,5M for race at the beginning. Don't panic.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 35

Follow the drivers strategy: the marketability will raise and your financial statement will be a little positivi from half of the season onwards.

Accept the best advance cash deals for sponsor slots 1-3. If the offers are not interesting, let them expire. I prefer to accept a 350k advance cash (4 races long) instead of a 700k (7 races long), for example. Yes, you have more cash/race (87k VS 100k) with the second, but I want to free the slot as soon as possibile for a better deal.

Also. Rotate your drivers. Be sure to have the highest markeability before receiving new offers, then when the 6 slots are full swap drivers to have the best (ok, the drivers are crap... but someone is less worse) for the race. Don't worry about drivers morale and their emails (I know, I am a bad person).

You should be able to get some points or at least climb to overall 8th / 9th position (even with 0 points) in the first half of the season.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 40

When you feel safe 9th (or better) in the team's standings, go always for Kinney/Mellado team to have 2 full paying drivers.

Season Target And The Chairman

10th: 8M 250k cash in advance. When the morale of the chairman is 100%, ask for extra cash (750k).

Engineer
Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 45

Start a negotiation with Claire White (Hammer HMR). She is very good on the car parts we will be interested to improve and has the fundamental "add random legendary component" perk.

Mechanics

Start a negotiation with Lovisa Frisk: in 2016 you will need one thing only from the mechanics: performance improvement. This woman is a poor mechanic, but with 19 in perfomance and very cheap.

Pitcrew

You will have a low budget, so hire new pitcrew only when forced. Just be patient, they will be crap for all the season and they will do a lot of mistakes. Sometimes you can risk "charge battery at 25%" while pitting, but it was a disaster for me on 50% of the time.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 51Facilities

Improve HQ to level 2 (8M)

Politics

Alway go for "abstain" and collect 2 votes if possibile. Vote against ERS ban or ERS without hybrid, refueling ban or 80% tanks, spec brakes, wing, suspensions. In July, Ernie will offer a vote for 1M. Check "Upcoming votes" and if not present, buy it, and propose SPEC ENGINE.

SAVE GAME HERE with a different name. Vote with +3 weight and cross your fingers, it can be a tie with Ernie voting PRO. If you are unlucky and don't have ethics problem (I don't), reload the game and test luck again.

Car Development

Parts

You have an engineer with 5 perks and (most important) the perk "add random legendary element". This means you can build up to legendary car parts level (Tier 5) even without the facilities. Don't bother to have "legendary" labelled parts: unlock Tier 5 and then use all the 4 best (+STAT and +MAX STAT) components + "add random legendary component" available to create your base for next season.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 61

Use this roadmap for every car part.

Build in this order:

  • WINGS
  • SUSPENSIONS
  • BRAKES

Tier 1: build with engineer perk 1 "-1 day"

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 66

Tier 2: build with component "-3 days", where available

Tier 3: build with engineer perk 1 and 3

Tier 4: build with engineer perk 1, 3, 4 (add random legendary item)

Tier 5: choose the best components (don't care about risks), engineer perk 4. Choose perk 5 (5% reliability for day) if you want to use the part in the current season; otherwise choose among the best even if risky components, to have the best base for 2017.

Reliability And Performance
Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 72

You should be able to have decent reliability to spend as weight reduction in the first half of the season. When you have built the best parts you can, go for full performance: you should be able to maximaze them before the season ends.

Race Strategies

Overall Strategy

Pit stops are long because are sequentials and you need refueling. Also, you have crap pitcrew and head mechanics.

So your mantra is: go always for 1 stop, unless you qualify for Q3 (nearly impossibile on 2016) with the hardest tyre compound. You can maybe try softer compound on low tyre wear tracks like Milan, Ardennes and Monaco.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 78

Don't be tempted to do more pit stops, don't be afraid to drive on lowest tyres mode and with cold tyres. Tyres are under 10%? Don't pit before your window You will lose less than doing 1 extra pit stop.

Save enough fuel (going hybrid) to pit only once. If needed, use ERS in manual mode.

In free practice session, unlock Hardest tyres compound knowledge level 3 and unlock Race setup knowledge level 3. This could not be possibile on long tracks like Sidney and Ardennes.

Do your best in Q sessions, but don't lose your sleep on your starting grid position. Strip weight to overall 65% reliability, 70% for crucial parts.

Your opponents will be Vittorio Corsa and Lockhart, always keep an eye on them.

Risky parts: this can be a problem. If you get a penalty after a race in point zone the risk is to lose 1-2 points and gift them to your opponents. Don't gamble, or gamble the less you can.

2017

Overall Season Strategy

Your Drivers
Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 89

Boutin will end her contract. Let her go. Scout and hire Marieke Meulen. Fill the scout lists with all the GT drivers and more, to be ready to negotiate with interesting drivers in the next seasons.

Cash Flow And Sponsorships

With 3 paying drivers, now you will have +500k financial statements for race.

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 93

Continue on rotating your drivers. Be sure to have the highest markeability before receiving new offers, then when the 6 slots are full swap drivers to have the best (ok, the drivers are crap... but someone is less worse) for the race. Don't worry about drivers morale and their emails (I know, I am a bad person).

Motorsport Manager - How to Win GT in 3 Seasons with CYOT (Adaptable Achievement) image 95

In 2017 the results will be better, so keep always a bonus slot for a race target you can reach (from 8th to 11th).

Season Target And The Chairman

8th: 11M cash in advance. If you need (you shouldn't), when the morale of the chairman is 100%, ask for extra cash (750k).

Engineer

Claire White will still be your strongest weapon. Go for a contract renewal before half season to lower your cash outcome.

Mechanics

Start a negotiation with Gianni Benvenuti and replace the temporary mechanic. There are other good mechanics, just make a choice you like in terms of skills and cost per race. Remember this is the one who will improve RELIABILITY.

Facilities

Improve PROJECT FACTORY to level 2 (8M). This will unlock VISIT CENTRE (1M 500k) and HELIPAD (750k) you must build whe available.

Politics

Alway go for "abstain" and collect 2 votes if possibile. Vote against ERS ban or ERS without hybrid, refueling ban or 80% tanks, spec brakes, wing, suspensions. In July, Ernie will offer a vote for 1M. Check "Upcoming votes" and if not present, buy it, and propose (you saw this coming) SPEC GEARBOX.

SAVE GAME HERE with a different name.

Vote with +3 weight and cross your fingers, it can be a tie with Ernie voting PRO. If you are unlucky and don't have ethics problem (I don't), reload the game and test luck again.

New Chassis And Car Development

Chassis

Well, you should have finished the 2016 8th or 9th, so you will get about a 20M season prize and 12M for the new car.

Remember: now SPEC ENGINE is active, so you don't need to buy the engine with the best base stats modifier.

This is how I set up mine (I regret the ERS choice: go for the 90% starting charge instead).

Dilemmas

With 3* in improvability you will have enough room for upgrading your car performance. Then calibrate your choices depending on what your engineer proposes you: avoid going under 3* for every stats.

Car Parts

This is more or less how your parts will be after the pre-season. Overall 5th, with 2nd in suspensions, 2nd wind, 6th brakes, 10th gearbox.

Build car parts following again the same schedule of 2016. You will have enough time to build 2 Tier 5 risky parts as base for 2018.

Build in this order:

  • BRAKES
  • WINGS
  • SUSPENSIONS

Ignore GEARBOX, and I think you understood why yet.

Tier 1: build with engineer perk 1

Tier 2: build with component "-3 days" where available

Tier 3: build with engineer perk 1 and 3

Tier 4: build with engineer perk 1, 3, 4 (add random legendary item)

Tier 5: choose the best components (don't care about risks), engineer perk 4. Choose perk 5 (5% reliability for day) if you want to use the part in the current season; otherwise choose among the best even if risky components, to have the best base for 2018.

Race Strategies

Overall Strategy

2017 will be a lot better, you can also win a couple of races where gearbox is not important. Pit stops are long because are sequentials and you need refueling. Also, you have crap pitcrew and head mechanics.

So your mantra is: go always for 1 stop, unless you qualify for Q3 (this can happen sometimes in 2017) with the hardest tyre compound. You can maybe try softer compound on low tyre wear tracks like Milan, Ardennes and Munich.

Profit of free tyres race starts: these are the races you can win yet in 2017.

2018

Overall Season Strategy

Your Drivers

Mellado should end his contract. Let him go. It's time to create a winning lineup. If you kept your scout list full in the previous seasons, you might have clear ideas about it.

Andrea Gabler was the (twice) current reigning champion (100% marketability), and she also gained the "paying driver" trait. I hired her for her last season before retirement.

I found an interesting, and full developed, japanese driver, also "paying driver": Wakana Omura with a solid 60% markeability.

Meulen is now 3rd driver, so I can gain half of her "paying driver" bonus.

You can also go for full 20 skilled driver (Mia Holgersen is great) but remember two things.

  • 1) "Driver aid" is in the rules, so the drivers performances are a bit flattened.
  • 2) You might now have a good cash flow, but you can't afford 1M/race drivers (maybe one).
Cash Flow And Sponsorships

Even with this 3 paying drivers, I had -250k financial statements for race without sponsor prizes.

Keep always 1/2 bonus slot for a high race target you can reach (from 1st to 3rd). Accept the best advance cash deals for the other sponsor slot. If the offers are not interesting, let them expire.

Season Target And The Chairman

4th: 13M 200k. You can go also for 2nd, but bad races can happen and I prefer keep the team marketability under control. If you need (you shouldn't), when the morale of the chairman is 100%, ask for extra cash (750k).

Engineer

Claire White will still be your strongest weapon again and you renewed her contract in 2017. If not, do it now.

Mechanics

Let Frisk contract expire and hire Scarlett Harrison: very good mechanic who will cost you a medium/low budget. With this lineup more or less from race 3 you will can hire 17/18 skilled pitcrew members.

Facilities
  • Build WEATHER CENTRE.
  • Build STAFF CENTRE.
Politics

I don't have any more suggestions. Play as you wish if you want to continue the career in 2019 and further.

New Car And Car Development

Chassis

Well, you should have finished the 2017 from 4th to 7th, so you will get about a 25M season prize and 12M for the new car.

Remember: now SPEC ENGINE is still active, so you don't need to buy the engine with the best base stats modifier.

This is how I set up mine.

Dilemmas

With 3* in improvability you will have enough room for upgrading your car performance. Then calibrate your choices depending on what your engineer proposes you: avoid going under 3* for every stats and invest in particular in tyres wear.

Car Parts

Now you are the team to beat.

Build car parts following again the same schedule of 2016 and 2017. You will build all Tier 5 best parts in the first 3rd of the season, so push on improvability after this.

You have an engineer with 5 perks and (most important) the perk "add random legendary element". This means you can build up to legendary car parts level (Tier 5) even without the facilities. Don't bother to have "legendary" labelled parts: unlock Tier 5 and then use all the 4 best (+STAT and +MAX STAT) components + "add random legendary component" to keep you car at the top of the rankings.

Choose perk 5 (5% reliability for day) if you want to use the part in the current season.

Depending on your will to continue the career in 2019, choose among the best even if risky components, to have the best base for next year.

Race Strategies

2018: your team is the favourite for the title, so now it should be a regular presence in Q3.

In the first 3rd of the season it can happen to still have a poor pitcrew, so it can be a problem to have good results doing 2 pit stops.

This is how I did.

Low tyre wear tracks, like Milan, Ardennes, Munich: you can go for Q3 with the softer compound, manually manage ERS to save fuel laps and go for 1 pit stop.

Other tracks: go in Q2 with harder tyres compound. If you can enter Q3, good and fight for pole position and then you can start the race with the tyres that allows you to go for 1 pit stop.

If not abe to reach Q3, never mind: free tyres choice and an easier way to go for 1 pit stop.

When the pitcrew has grown enough to be in the first 3, you can change your strategy to 2 pit stops. With this strategy usually you can try to go flatout (red mode for the engine) the whole race. In this case do not strip away weight under 90%.

Otherwise, when following the 1 pit stop strategy strip the weight to 65% (70% for crucial parts).

You can have problems on tracks that have engine + gearbox as crucial parts. Since these are SPEC, the driver's impact will be very important. As you saw, I cannot afford 1M/race driver, so it was a close and hard affair to gain points. In these cases, always go for 1 pit stop stripping down all the weight you can. Instead, if you have a high skilled driver (starting from 16), 2 pit stops strategy should not be a problem.

Of course you can do different strategies with your first and second driver, depending on their abilities.
