Intro - Caps

This guide is all about Bottle Caps and how to get them.

Note: Please, help me catch any incorrect grammar, misspellings, and incorrect information. Also, I'm a bit weary to do co-op (When I unlock it), due to a game breaking but rare glitch which I'm not sure that Capcom got rid of.

Don't forget to:

Da Priorities

See this Felyne? He's shady, just like the fox guy, who sells ya paintings, from Animal Crossing.

Now as ya know, Bottle Caps are important, they're good for expanding Stables. Here's the priorities for whenever ya do business with the Melynx.

Stables. Expedition Tickets.

Unique one off items (like crafting recipes).

Cosmetics.

Armor/Weapons.

Reasons Of The Priority Rankings

Stables/Expedition Tickets - Ya need to expand dem stables for "Gotta catch 'em all" and for genetics intents and purposes. (The tickets are mainly a co-op thingy, since in singleplayer, ya can go on any expedition at any time).

Unique Items - Some, like the crafting recipes, are very useful and are probably exclusive to buying stuff from Melynx. A few of these will teach ya how to make traps and new weapons, like poison throwing knives.

Cosmetics - These are turbo optional, unless, you want to be the fanciest cat in town. (I don't see the point, especially why would I want to dress Navi/Meowth?)

Armor/Weapons - The reason why the weapons and armors are last. It's because, they can be forge and/or ya can buy them in the armory whenever ya go to a new region. Unless, ya want an early head start.

Miscellaneous

Spend your bottle caps but be aware that you'll find more as ya progress through the story. Since, it means more high ranking dens, especially Everdens. It may appear that the caps are scarce, that's because you're just starting the game.

Locations

Singleplayer

To find Bottle Caps in both the demo and main game, ya mainly need to go to Everdens. They're in special treasure chests that can only be found there. There's other methods though.

Caves, Dens, And EverDens

By the time of this guide post, I'm relieve that I found Prince.

Be aware that normal caves also have chest(s) that contains bottle caps, but these are rare. Plus, these chests contains 3 caps (If you're lucky to find 'em. - These chances are 1/20).

Note: Certain red colored chests will contain the caps, if you're not sure wait for Navi-Meowth to gives ya a heads up early (or reminding if ya already cleared an EverDen, leaving no stone unturn). He will alert ya ahead of time occassionally.

TM Agents

You might need some "special" Monsties, because ya need them to swim/climb/walk on lava. etc. to get to places you normally can't. They're like Pokemon's TM Slaves/TM Agents, but without the skill erasing Move TM.

Errands

Talk to certain NPCs, like the one I nickname "Old Egg Examiner", they will give you quests,

like the Egg-Mantic Genus Egg 2 errand, these will reward ya with Bottle Caps.

Ya can do some quests repeatedly, like the ones that require hunting herbivores, which rewards ya with cook meats of sorts (Ya need those for healing). Find an NPC that will keep giving you caps or will throw a few to spare.

Vendors

Some(?) of the vendors has consumables were ya can buy for caps (I dunno if this is for "unlocked co-op" or if this is for the whole game).

Co-Op/Multiplayer

A PokeTrainer's Guide To Bottle Caps image 41

This high and shmancy co-op mode will only unlock, if ya finish the main story. Also, multiplayer is where ya can get more Bottle Caps than usual in singleplayer/nomral game modes.

Monstie Note: Be aware that ya might need to get rid of some of your Monsties that ya befirended in singleplayer mode, because you'll be in High Rank and ya need stronger guys with better stats for the more challenging co-op. - Either by fusing 'em or using them to fuse into other Monsties.

Reminder: Just like what I said in my review of the game, the multiplayer is region locked. You can't play with Jose in Brazil and he can't play with Ling, who lives in China. You can only play with those in your own region/country. Unlike the other Monster Hunter games.

How To Farm

Da Decent Team

Ya need a good team to help ya like this, an ideal team is one tech, one power and one speed. They need to be above Lv. 38. (Don't worry too much about perfection, your guys are just there to help you succeed and do it. They don't need to be Szayelaporro's idea of OP perfection).

Get a speed Monstie, like Nargacuga, so, you can be invisible and sneaky.

Note: If ya wanna be a lone wolf, after buying your Expedition Ticket, arrange for things in the Multiplayer Rules). So, you can have a bot as your Battle Buddy.

Hitchhiking

To hitchhike, just keep on spamming the Co-Op Quest list and jump into somebody's lobby. This is handy, if ya want to get more Bottle Caps (and nabbing a "few" elders/deviants on the side).

Multiplayer Slay Quest

They don't require tickets, but this is one of the best co-op modes to farm. Tip: Remember bring a Monstie that has the stealth skill, if ya wanna sneak around and do things quick without battle engagement.
