Create_Unit Guide
This section will cover how to use the create_unit command. There are some unfortunate limitations and quirks to this command. Provided you use quotation marks for the unit ID, you do not have to worry about capitalization, but it does matter for character and settlement names. You can't spawn more than 5 units per command. The experience number must be from 0-9, inclusive. The armor number must be from 0-3, inclusive. The weapon number must be from 0-3, inclusive. I advise only using settlements to spawn in units as the in-game name of a character is not necessarily the name the game uses to refer to them. When you spawn in a unit with the create_unit command that is not intended for that faction, the unit card uses the placeholder texture and the unit's texture in-battle has some issues as shown in the image. Unfortunately, this can mean that special units like the Boyar or Hand Gunners may not function very well if spawned in for the wrong nation.
The basic format is create_unit <settlement / character name> <unit id> <amount> <experience> <armor> <weapon>. Here's an example of how to spawn in 3 Huscarls with 9 experience, Level 2 Armor, and Level 3 Weapons in London: create_unit London Huscarls 3 9 2 3. If you are dealing with a city with strange marks, like umlots, you can rename the city by clicking on the town's name at the top of the construction window.
If the unit id is more than one word, remember to include quotes around the id. Here's an example of how to spawn in 5 Desert Archers with 0 experience, Level 1 Armor, and Level 0 Weapons in Gaza: create_unit Gaza "Desert Archers" 5 0 1 0.
Units like artillery and general's bodyguard have different appearances depending on the culture group. Treat the unit ID as if it was multiple words and then add a prefix to denote the culture group. NE means Northern European. SE means Southern European. EE means Eastern European. ME means Middle Eastern. GR means the Byzantine Empire. Here's an example of how to spawn in 4 Greek Trebuchets with 1 experience, Level 2 Armor, and Level 3 Weapons in Constantinople: create_unit Constantinople "GR Trebuchet" 4 1 2 3.
If you want to spawn ships, you will have to select a pre-existing navy and refer to it by the admiral's name. To find the list of admirals (as thankfully their names don't change with their traits), right-click on the button at the bottom of your screen labeled "Army" as shown by the image (the image comes from my command testing save which is why I'm the Papal States, FOW is disabled, and I have insane amounts of money). Remember to include that word Admiral as part of the character's name. Also, the Armor Level doesn't affect ships but must be included for the command to work properly. Here's an example of how to spawn in 1 war galley with 9 experience, Level 0 Armor (as it doesn't matter anyway), and Level 3 Weapons in Admiral Vesallius' fleet: create_unit "Admiral Vesallius" "war galley" 1 9 0 3.
Here's the link to a website[commands.gg] with a list of the Unit IDs of all ground units and ships, and it possesses a search function so that the right unit is easier to find. For those who don't know, a few units/ships don't have an ID which matches its name, making it difficult to spawn them in. Also, I realize that some of the IDs listed on the website are incorrect (like the one for Norse War Clerics which should be Armored Clergy), but it's the best list I've yet found.
