Introduction
Hello!
This is a short draft about a - in my opinion - fun and relaxing yet effective way to approach the Veteran class.
It's a build that really embraces ranged combat. You use you gun about 80% of the time for anything except melee trash enemies.
Enjoy the pew pew pew!
(Make sure you look the part)
The Core Skills
To make sure you have enough ammo thoughout a whole round:
To make sure our main targets are highlighted and easier to (hip)fire accurately at:
To increase our damage passively without us pressing a button at all:
The real deal, not even heavily armored crushers are safe from you:
The combination of rending strikes and onslaught paired with a (very) fast firing ammo efficient weapon such as the Recon Lasguns literally melts armor. So there's no target you cannot pinfire down rapidly. Give it a shot (haha!). You'll be surprised how fast Crushers crumble under your persistent fire.
Our Gun
This is what we use:
I personally think Infernus blessing is not worthwile, everything we fire at dies fast. So the usefulness of damage over time effects is limited. DumDum consistently works like a champ especially when you're under pressure by fast approaching packs of elite enemies such as ragers.
Personally I prefer the most fast firing Recon Gun of the bunch. If another mark suits your taste more - nothing wrong with that!
Full Build
Feel free to exchange Camouflage for Bring it Down! if you want to actively aim at heads more and melt down Crushers even faster.
Melee Weapon And Curio
I like to pick something that is a powerhouse on his own against (mixed) hordes in those cases we have to frontline a horde:
There is not much more to it than activating the weapon special and strike three times into enemy hordes. Preferably a mixup of heavy/light attacks.
If you prefer another horde clearing weapon - such as catachans, shock mauls or latrine shovel - go ahead! Whatever serves you best!
What I personally like to stack 3 times curio wise:
I prefer learning how to avoid damage and not go down by dodging and/ or killing stuff in advance in general. But... i'm not perfect ... so I will take chip damage! Toughness helps us to negate that chip damage (and other fkups XD). As long as our actual health isn't affected too much, we're fine.
Thank You...
... for reading this "guide". I hope you enjoy the shootie shootie Recon Veteran as much as I do.
See you on the battlefield!
