Introduction
Hello! In this guide I will show you how to play Rome and its two dlcs with mods and achievements enabled!
NOTE: This will require basic knowledge of file editing and I am not responsible if you mess up your save! So BEFORE you do anything please either back up your save files or only use this on new playthroughs!
I also recommend that you use "Notepad++[notepad-plus-plus.org] " as it will make it alot easier for you to troubleshoot any problems!
Lastly, I would recommend getting the plugin "Compare" for notepad++ as it will make things alot easier for you if you want to use multiple mods that edit the same file!
How To Add A Mod!
![How to use mods and still get achievements(NO LONGER NEEDED AS OF VERSION 2.0.4) image 6](https://i.imgur.com/PwEyuB4.gif)
First you will need to head over to the Steam workshop and subscribe to a mod you want!
For this example I will be using my own mod:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2658639029
After downloading the mod head over to your game folder!
To get to your game folder follow these steps!

Once that is done you want to grab the workshop item! Follow these steps!

So to explain and also help you understand what the numbers mean I will show you what they mean here!
First number! The first number is "885970" which is the app id that Steam uses to identify the game!
Second number/numbers! The folder I selected was called "2658639029" and the number represents the workshop item id!
TIP, If you want to find a specific mod, Head over to the workshop page and check the URL! At the end of the URL, it should say "/?id=" The number after that is the id!
If this you want to copy the contents of the data folder!
In my case it's just a single file!
Now head back to the games folder! And follow the next step!

That's all the hard parts done! Now you just need to setup the launch options! So go ahead and launch the game!
THAT'S ALL! Enjoy playing with mods and earning achievements! I will also link some resources in case you want to modify your game even more!

For this I would HIGHLY recommend the use of the plugin "Compare"!
How to install "Compare"
In this instance I will use

and
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2472972882
Like before you will need to download both mods and also locate both of their files!
Open both files in notepad++ and then follow what I do!
Thanks For Reading!
Congratulation you have done it!
If you experience any problems feel free to comment and I will try and help you!
Also feel free to tell me if anything is unclear and I will update this guide!
