The Start

Planet Crafter Complete Guide image 1

At the start of the game you'll want to select a version of the game to fit your play style.

Relaxed - Piece of cake - oxygen, food and water goes down slowly. if you die you lose nothing.

Standard - a bit harder - oxygen, food and water goes down a bit faster. if you die you lose some of whats on you.

Insane - harder - oxygen, food and water goes down faster. if you die you lose everything you have on you

Hardcore - hard as nails - oxygen, food and water goes down really fast. if you die its game over for good your save is deleted.

custom - this is where you get to custom make your map - where you pick how quickly resources are used by yourself and how easy it is to gain more of them, how well your machines do etc etc.

on the right hand side of the custom setup menu are a few things to bare in mind. bare in mind if you unlock any building plans you will still need the mats to build them. so you may as well wait to unlock them. as for changing out mines at the bottom dont do it it will change everything for you and trust me its get silly. i selected it by pure accident and started again within minutes i had way too much osmium on my map and barely any resources that i needed to start up with so i struggled big time for it. that one do not touch at all.

for a first timer i would suggest Relaxed or standard. Personally i like going for custom builds and here is why.

From here you want to find the few Blue crates and a golden crate in this area before doing anything else.

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 5

Blue crate 6

Blue crate 7

Golden crate 1

From here you want to grab whats in your storage inside your pod and head up the hill on the right of your landing pod. you'll notice a group of rocks.

Past this you'll see a downed ship in the background.

This area here is where you'll do most of your building work for the game.

In front of those rocks your now stood by you'll see a rock and beside it 2 more rocks.

This is where you want to build a simple little structure using the living compartment & door, head inside.

Build 2 x tables next to each other along the wall. place on the wall behind those a Screen Terraformation. on top of the tables you want 2 extra screens 1 blueprint & 1 energy levels.

Now you want to grab a few colbolt & some ice and make water and oxygen tanks. using the T2 craft station.

now once you have this setup now gather some minerals to craft power dont worry about the rest just yet you'll need to gather Iridium from the cave where heat comes off the top from the images above. 2 wind turbines will be enough to get you up and running at this point.

now lets head to the Iridium mine cave.

before you go make sure to takes 2 to 4 oxygen tanks, 2 water bottles and 2 space food. when clearing areas of interest you want to do the same at all times and build a resource drop off point and place those inside of it. if you run low your not far away to top yourself back up with.

Iridium Mine

Inside here you'll find lots of Iridium & some aluminium, 2 blue crates and a golden crate. you'll also want to build a living compartment & door inside this cave to drop off minerals and save wasting oxygen tanks etc etc.

Iridium

Aluminium

Now while you're here you want to empty this whole cave of every bit of resource you can get. while exploring the cave you'll notice 3 crates. 2 blue and 1 gold.

Blue crate 1

Look for the slope rock go up to the right you'll see a rock bridge go over it then another one to the left and you'll see the blue crate.

Golden Crate

From the blue crate turn around to see those rocks in the back go to them climb the top and under it is your golden crate.

Blue Crate 2

From the golden crate look for the rock pillars and just after the second one is the 2nd blue crate.

Once you have emptied the cave of all the resources on the floor head back to base with them. Note use the living compartment as a drop off point for resources as you collect them. build storage crates inside & you may have to build onto it with another living compartment.

Building Oxygen, Heat, Pressure & More Power.

After you have finished in the iridium mine you want to bring your resources back with you and build up the following things.

Idea in terraforming is to keep the numbers as close together as possible. if you have 20 on oxygen you want 20 on pressure and heat.

Oxygen - T1 vetetubes - if you have any plant seeds place them inside these tubes. These tubes must be built inside living compartments. Dont use lirma seeds as they dont give a bonus on oxygen, place those into storage containers and keep them for later.

T1 Drill - This gives you Pressure and must be built outside of your living compartments.

T1 Heater - This gives of course heat and must be built inside of your living compartments.

If you have any bluerpints this is the time to hand them in at your blueprint screen. if you run out of power just build more wind turbines for now. once you get solar power replace turbines with them instead. use the middle button on your mouse to deconstruct them.

Idea from here is to get food on the go as soon as possible and to do that you need to focus on oxygen to unlock it. Once you have unlocked food growers head inside your living space and build one or two depending on how many food seeds you have. if you have any food seeds place them inside and now you have food sources growing for you. in the mean time use space food if you need food sources. they is some that you should of brought with you at the start of the game in your landing pod. you'll also find them in blue & golden crates.

Now here is where you need to explore more areas to get more bluerpints, plant seeds, and minerals to build with. While you build points in all areas of Oxygen, Heat and Pressure to unlock new buildings i would recommend upgrading them as soon as possible. Again you want to keep these numbers close together. Also ill point this out now you want to get a torch microchip before heading out the door. if you try to explore a ship you wont see jack once inside without one.

Areas of interest from here.......

1 - Aluminium Mine

2 - Crash ship by the canyons

3 - Crashed ship by your start area right at the back to the left of your landing pod.

4 - Crashed ship inside the canyons.

5 - Crashed ship The dessert

6 - a little area behind the aluminium mine to the right is a few downed containers and a golden crate. we will cover each one in a separate section of this guide.

7 - canyon area at the back of the other canyon area.

8 - crash ship in another dessert area.

at this point you want to leave just your food on everything else deconstruct. i know you might think im mad for this but trust me i have a plan. This worked for me and will do for you, keep your food sources on but as for terra forming deconstruct everything but power just cover enough to keep your base up and running and food coming in. build plenty of storage bays for your resources to go in and clear these locations out.

Exploring 8 Points Of Interest.

Each time you clear an area of interest you want to bring home your supplies all of them and build onto what you already have. boosting your terraforming this way is a good idea for you gives you plenty of time to explore and also build this up. Remember to keep those number tightly close together along the way.. Once your ready and able too you want too launch your first 2 rockets into space to aid in Heat and Pressure. these sadly always seem to lack in numbers so launching rockets as and when your short will really help save vital resources you need for the end of the exploring part where you build a massive water born base. trust me you'll need power and lots of it. as well as Iron for grids silicon if you plan to use Fences around it.... i personally dont as it looks tacky but i do put a load of lights around it and change the colour to red makes it glow up during night time.

Having these resource drop off points in areas of interest will save you time and energy. also bare in mind these come in handy when ever your low on oxygen, health and water. place beacons in these location too will help you figure out where they are too. more so if your completely new to the game and have high setting in game. if you die you may lose vital resources and thats a big no no in my opinion. more so when carrying seeds and blueprints.

The aluminium Mine is to your right hand side of where we have been building a base. along the way you'll find 1 blue crate and a golden crate on the way to it.

Blue crate

Golden crate

you will see the aluminium spikes and in this area you'll find the following.

7 blue boxes.

1 golden crate.

a downed ship with 4 blue boxes.

here you want to build another resource drop off point and clear the mine of its resources. once done move onto the next area of focus. yes dont bring them home with you your main focus is clearing about the only thing you want to bring home is space food, seeds and blueprints. your main goal here is to unlock deconstruct t2 microchip. you should have that by clearing the 6 main areas of interest that ive left you to run over.

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 2

Blue crate 3

Golden Crate

Blue crate 4

Blue crate 5

Blue crate 6

Blue crate 7

Inside the crashed ship you will find 4 blue crates at the back of it.

After this we will need to head to the next zone to clear it.

Crashed Ship - Canyons Front

Again this area has a few blue crates laying around and outside the ship you want to build another resource drop off point and clear the crashed ship of everything. if you find seeds, blueprints and space food bring them home everything else leave at the resource drop off location.

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 2

Blue crate 3

Blue crate 4

Inside the crashed ship

you'll find 5 blue crates and 2 smaller crates with blue prints inside them. also notice that you have a heater t2 inside as well.

Crashed Ship - Start Area

Here is your landing pod site and also alot of area of interest

Blue crate 1

Golden crate 1

Inside the Crashed ship.

here again you want to build a resource drop off point to quickly empty the ship. inside you will find the following.

Blue crate 1

small blue crate 1

Heater

Blue crate 2

Blue crate 3

Blue crate 4

Blue crate 5, 6 & 7

Heater T2

Blue crate 8, 9 & 10

Small blue crate 2

once done only bring home seeds, blue prints and space food.

Crashed Ship - Inside Canyons

Inside this canyon area you will find the following.....

1 crashed ship, 4 blue crates & golden crate. the 4th blue crate will be collected once the ship has been emptied

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 2

Blue crate 3

Golden Crate

Inside the crashed ship you will find the following.

again at this point at the back to where you enter the ship build a resource drop off point to quickly empty the ship out.

head inside the ship and clear it out

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 2

Small Blue crate 1

Blue crate 3

Blue crate 4

Blue crate 5

Small blue crate 2

after this you want to head back to the ship again and exit out the door at the very back of it and scale the canyon edge for super alloy and find the last Blue crate on edges of the canyon.

Blue crate 4

this is a good area to gain alot of super alloy and trust me at this point you'll need it to upgrade and build a bigger base. drop these off at your resource drop off location. once done head home with food, seeds and blue prints like previously.

Crashed Ship - The Dessert

Now remembering where you placed your last drop off point head from they out the back of the canyon and you'll see a downed ship in the dessert. But before we head inside they is 2 blue crates to find and also a ladder to climb down.

Blue crate 1

Blue crate 2

Ladder

At the front build another drop off point and clear this huge ship of its stuff inside. you will find the following. Note they are seeds and extra bits on shelf's & laying on the floor of this ship.

head inside and to the left side first and up the ladder.

Small blue crate 1 - with some seeds on the shelf's

Small blue crate 2

Behind The Aluminium Cave

Housing Area

At start you want to place out a simple housing area on the main start point dont build in the area start. once you land go out to the right and up towards the rock peaks you'll see a crashed ship in the background. this is a perfect area to get started with.

here you want to build say to start a 4x6 using just the 1x1s

setup power, plants and heat.

your major advancement now is to focus getting food on the go as soon as possible. so focus on oxygen first. get to 12000 point to get the food grower in place and grow one of each food source to keep you going. you'll find seeds in crashed ships, blue crates and golden ones are best coz you'll get golden seeds for oxygen.

now its time to explore some ships and areas to get golden and blue creates. focus on the start area iridium mine, aluminium mine ther canyon in the area where you build they is a crashed ship if you expolre that area more you'll find another ship at the back too. and they is another ship past the iridium mine. empty those for everything you can get out of them. everything else leave for now

blue and golden boxes will contain goods for your current level so emptying to many now is stupid wait until you advance more.

your hunting for blueprints too you'll need them for things like building upgrades etc etc plan is to build a drop off zone for all areas you explore so you dont waste oxygen tanks. also helps if you have in those 1x1 drop off points plenty of water food and oxygen tank. as a backup never get caught out if your playing on higher levels where you may lose items if you die.

now for housing area once your able and got the 2x2 building you want to build 5 in a straight line add a second row of it behind make sure its all connected up. in the middle point you want to add a biolab and behind it another 2x2. when you get tree bark they need a 4x4 zone so place them on the edge of the back part of your building. you may need to add a 1x1 to the back corners then a corner piece and 1x1s to connect them together. image to come soon of my build. dont go mad coz once you r start area fills with water your gonna move to the water.

build a walk way leading into the water with a platform then one above it. 3 back and then place your building on top of the water 1 frame higher. and build the same blocks just disconect them and rebuild. again this is why i dont go mental on building on land

here will be your complete workshop for everything.

land you want to use for trade so you can trade one of every item.

Power Setup

So power is easy to setup once you get higher just build a 3x3 platform and place 8 nuclear fusion generators around the outside. in the middle goes a T2 machine optimiser add 3 power fuses and watch the power go up massively. trust me your going to need it with the trade build ive setup and also keeping up with numbers for terrorforming

Trade Setup

trading is awesome you'll earn credits by trading items. they are 12 items to trade in total.

first step is to get drones, big storage and a kitchen. so you'll need 12000 for the storage and 5000 for the drones t2 and 800 for kitchen. dont waste time with drones t1 they slow and a waste of time. you also want to be able to craft circuit boards as well so you can auto craft these babies. place an auto crafter outside your main base in the water with a big storage container for each of the resources needed for the building of them. add an extra drill or 2 to the areas needed to ship in supplies but dont place them to close to auto crafters. after that focus pon buying whole alot of wheat and cocoa seeds, after this buy power fuses. head to the power setup for help on this

Tip you want 3 auto crafters for each trade this allows you to have 24 items once your trade ship lands. meaning you only need 1 item and your trade ship is back up in the air

Tip - Never setup the trade ship until all slots on everything is filled up. place 25 items on the ship but dont send it yet wait until all auto crafters and devices that harvest items are full up once done set it to auto trade.

Tip - Have a teleporter and a drone station in all mines that you use for quick travel.

Tip - 2 drones station on your main area of build is good enough you need more drones here than anything else. also place a teleporter by them too. here is how i build them use platforms a 4x4 with a drone station and a teleport on the corner place a beacon as well so you can see it when your out and floating about.

Tip - if you ever buy an item the trade ship goes back to default, which mean you need to switch it back to auto trade once full up.

Tip - make sure that auto crafters are close enough to grab items this can take some practice.

1 - Bacteria Samples.....

Build a 4x4 platform on the water edge and place 10 water collectors and 10 algae collectors. in the middle place 3 auto crafters.

2 - Fabric.......

this is an easy one inside your building area place 3 auto crafters and around it you want 14 silk generators. you need 2 silk per fabric and you need 24 fabric to complete all 3, the extra 2 silk gens allow you to craft 1 more fabric to complete the trade quickly.

Rods i waited until i got t3 drills before i even bothered to trade with them. why t3s allow for 1 resource to be mined. once you have them do this

3, 4 & 7 - Iridium/Uranium/Osmium rods (iridium is done in the iridium mine close to the area start, uranium is done by the crash ship on the right way behind the aluminium mine. its a better area for 15 drills. as for Osmium by the start area is a crashed ship on a hill inside a cave to the right is an osmium mine bigger enough for 15 drills placement. you'll also notice that to the back end of this cave is the Sulfur mining area leading to your iridium mine. if you travel further into the osmium mine later down the line is your zeolite mine too. for osmium place a trade station in the sulfur mine with drone station & teleporter.

5 - Super Alloy Rods

2 to 4 drills of aluminium and send them to your super alloy mine place 3 big storages 1 for each auto crafters. inside the main area by the big doors you want to place 15 drills for super alloy. outside the cave you want trade ship and inside the cave a telporter and drone station on 2x2 platform.

6 - Cookies......

These are a pain in the backside to setup and here is why......

cookies need alot of wheat and cocoa per cookie its literally 3 flour and 3 chocolate, which takes 6 cocoa to make chocolate and 6 wheat to make flour. each of your farms you'll use only grow you 5, so listen up buttercup coz this bit is going to get crazy.

build 3x3 platforms and place 8 farms on each and an auto crafter in the middle. do this 9 times over for wheat farms and 9 for cocoa farms. why you say well its easy to work out you need 90 wheat farms and 90 cocoa farms to get your 25 cookies to complete your trade once the ship lands in. trust me ive crunched the numbers.

1 cookies needs 3 flour and 3 chocolate. 1 chocolate/flour needs 6 wheat or cocoa. 25 x 3 equals 75. 75 x 6 equals 450, divide by 5 is 90. told you to have faith in me i did the maths.

after this you want to place 2 big storage containers for chocolate and 2 for flour. with 3 auto crafters around them.

8 - Rockets - Now for this one you want to find the uranium mine 2 first which is behind the crashed ship in the dessert area. you'll know the area once you find it its just big enough for 4 drills you'll need. again place tele/drone station outside the mine. go to the super alloy cave and place 2 to 4 more drills and send alloy back to your main build site. inside your big iridium mine place another 15 drills with 3 auto crafters. yes same applies here to this as well. a storage for each item but 2 for uranium and 3 auto crafters for rockets. place next to your trade launch pad.

9 - High Quality Food - again this you want to wait until you get the bigger honey farms. place a shedder machine close by and select it to auto shed once filled and select bees to fill it. here you dont need to many farms or honeys as it take 1 of each honey and beans to craft each. 5 per farm so you need 5 bean farms to 7 bee hives t2 with 3 auto crafters next to them in the middle of it...you could add an extra farm for safety.

10 - fusion cells - wait until you have 6 of these first so you can unlock the doors on the fallen ships then start trading them. This one is a little tricky so here it goes, you first need to setup Pulsar quartz crafting. you need 3 pulsar quartz to 1 fusion. so 5 drills for osmium, zeolite, Iridium and uranium. For meth you want 7 T2 gas extractors. place all this in your second Osmium mine with 3 auto crafters. you'll find the cave which is based at the back end of the aluminium mine go to the right you'll see a few crashed containers further down is a cave entrance inside is another osmium mine. 1 storage for each of those item needed to craft quartz. send quartz back to your main area where a trade ship will be with one container for each item again with 3 auto crafter for fusions. inside your second osmium cave will be 2 to 4 extra osmium mines to craft fusions keep them clear of the auto crafters and 2 to 4 obsidian drills as well. you'll find the obsidian mine if you head out of the 2nd osmium cave and head towards the lava area.

11 - Pulsar Quartz - you can give this one a miss if you dont intend to repeat steps 10 and double down. i did simply put i want the 80 per fusion not 25 per pulsar.

12 - Circuits boards - i've left this one till last as again it can get tricky to setup.

2 to 4 drills for each of the following.....zeolite, iron, aluminium, silicon place these in mine areas for each and bring them home. by your main area build you want a storage for each item and then setup close by a bioplastic station which needs - 10 mushroom farms, 2 to 4 silicon drills and water collectors in water which has 8 not land which has 4. those you'll need 4 of them. again containers for all item by 3 auto crafters. 8 gas t2s for nitrogen

Tip - if you truly want to get the most for your money just max out on fusions and delete the rest but since time is on your hands will terror forming it doesnt matter just trade one of each and you'll have your 500k in no time but again the choice is yours

Oxygen

Now oxygen is made by plants at first then going onto biomass. once high enough you'll be able to make trees and what i do is use all my lirma seeds to make tree's with as for the rest of your plants leave them until you get to the animal stages. use them to make interesting animals....

place your tree spreaders in areas where you dont plan to build and if tree grow in areas you do as long as they fully grown if you remove the tree seed and delete the tree spreader the tree will disappear. always keep in mind to upgrade them all at this point in time so know where your spreaders are so you can upgrade to better ones.

T1 spreaders need to be placed on water, T2s and 3s will be on land. i always use the space by thw aluminium mine they is a lot of normal land you can cover with spreaders. giving me plenty of room to build on a big area of land

Building A Water Base

Now you done all 8 areas to explore and unlocked alot of plans and extras now is the time once high enough in terraforming to build you a water base. back in the start area where you landed, yes i know mental idea but it really does work a treat. This will provide you with everything you need for trading and more along the way.

so head back to your base area and start looking into the area that was your landing zone which is now filled to the max with water, or should be if you stuck to what i told you to do along the way. Dont worry if you havent got that far into terraforming yet you will have plenty of stuff to get you started on your dry land just dont go mental as you'll need to move it all over once you do.

Build a 3 by 10 foundation grid platform just shy of the water edge. at the point in the picture. Once far back as 10 on the 10th one build 1 frame above it on each side leave the middle one for stairs leading up. at the top of the stairs here is where you need to add extra grids to host your large building. this platform needs to be 21 wide and 3 back to host the front end of the building. build 1 2x2 living compartment in the middle of the stair way up and then 2 more on each side to give you 5 x 2x2 living compartments. build a second row at the back of that. now in the middle part of the back row you want a biolab and along the back edges to the left and right you need to build out 1 living compartment 1x1s to host your tree bark building in the middle of each part. the tree bark needs a 4x4 space. at the back end of the biolab build another 2x2 and then a 1x1 on each slot. then connect the dots by building around it all. cover with windows on the edges of the base you want doors 4 in total. then around the edge carry on your grid frame. on the side of the base you want to build a door way so you can walk down under the buildings so you can gather algae and water born fish eggs along the way. also add some lake water collectors too trust me your going to need all the water you can get and lets be fair your above it. this is going to make auto crafting a doddle

since this is a pretty big build ill run a video of it from my youtube channel - Oswuld Leofric Vivadirr but the video will be linked below.
