Objectives, Or Why War?
Necessary for your success (more inches) is the concentration of your power on a weakly defended rally point of the enemy.
Meanwhile, you concentrate your defense on a small area in order to have more troops free to attack. Don't forget, you don't need to conquer all of the rally points to win.
Ideally, the attacker should have at least twice as many troops as the defender. for firepower, you should have 4-6 units of light artillery and about 1 - 2 units of heavy artillery.
The remaining army slots are used for high-quality infantry.
Preparation (digging Trenches)
Find a place on the map that is as close to no man's land as possible, giving you good range for your artillery and balloons.
Fortify this place with cheap ditches on all sides. Destroy all trenches at your remaining rally points. These will be abandoned. (Remember, concentrated power)
The enemy will capture your unguarded rally points while neglecting their own defenses. Because you cleared the trenches at the abandoned sites, you can easily recapture the lost rally points.
look at the picture below. The enemy has captured our smaller rally point but is being held back by our fortifications. Later we will recapture the lost rally point
How To Charge
Before you charge your target, it's worth destroying the enemy balloon with a few volleys of heavy artillery.
You can also bomb MG nests or larger troop concentrations in the trenches. But only if there is enough supply
The attack should be led by 2-3 cheap units. These scout the position and distract the enemy from your main army. Use trees or smoke grenades for additional cover.
Just before the enemy can attack your ifantry you start attacking your light artillery. Cover as many enemy trenches as possible with the bombardment. Enemies hit by the light artillery are suppressed and cannot attack your marching infantry!
Your infantry tries to get into the suppressed enemy trenches as quickly as possible
Timing is crucial. through practice you will learn when to use artillery bombardment for the best support of your attacking troops
Light artillery is much more useful in suppressing trenches, so it should be available in any attack. Light artillery can also suppress heavy artillery
How To Trench Warfare
bring as many troops as possible fast into the enemy trenches and start melee combat. Act quickly, your artillery oppression will soon end. After that, your infantry is vulnerable in the open field. Therefore use the enemy trenches for your cover.
High-quality infantry is better in close combat and should be preferred for close combat. grenadiers and flamethrowers can also attack trenches from above.
2 units should only occupy a trench in order to defeat enemy units in close combat. Otherwise, distribute your troops evenly among the enemy trenches
Hold The Enemy Trenches
Quickly call in fresh reserves. Replace decimated troops with fresh ones. Use the enemy trenches for to defend counter attacks.
Only move inside the ditches. For this it is important to only place 2 units in a trench in an emergency. 2 units in a trench will block the trench and prevent safe movement of your troops
suppress enemy counterattacks with your artillery. Expensive gas grenades can be used to block enemy paths.
Rally to attack the next target. Try to stay far back on the edge of the map so enemy artillery can't hit you.
Also, most enemy defenses are not prepared for rear attacks.
