*if you get gud
Guide has now been updated for Season 8! [updated April 2021]
Who Is Scylla And Why The ♥♥♥♥ Do I Want To Play Her?
The better question is who the ♥♥♥♥ do you think you are. Look at this little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You see her? Sea horror. She's sunk more ships to the sea floor than you've had hot breakfasts, and additionally, she thinks your waifu is ♥♥♥♥. Are you going to do anything about it? Unless you have a ton of Health stacked, probably not.
Scylla is a Greek Mage, ranged, and excels at high area damage.
But why you really want to play her?
When you play as Scylla, everything is your plaything.
And I mean everything. But more than anything, walls. When playing as Scylla, walls are merely something to go through. Scylla does not respect walls. She does not respect anything, really. But they will respect you when you play Scylla. Or maybe not. Who knows. If they're dead it won't matter.
Her listed difficutly is easy. Okay maybe yes she is. But after that last match where Chang'e stunlocked you with her ult, the Odin cagetrapped you and Neith AoE'd you are you really worried about playing an "Easy" god? Probably not. You just want your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ First Wins.
Also T H E S O U L S O F Y O U R E N E M I E S.
Learning to play her properly is a whole different story.
How Do Loli Queen?
Like a boss, that's how.
First off, you need to be aware of her skills.
Her passive is rather useless at first, but when you get late game, you literally become unstoppable. The effect of her passive grants her a bonus effect and a buff to her Magic Power each time a skill reaches rank five. And the buff is INSANE. Mages may be called glass cannons, but be honest, most of them are like, Magnums or Glocks. Scylla is a literal CANNON; with the proper building, her skills can take out half to two-thirds of enemies' HP with her skills. Not even counting ult.
Scylla's #1 skill is a lovehug of death. You toss her snakehound things forward in a line, any enemy stupid enough not to move gets rooted. Hello. This a great instigator for teammates, or a perfect setup for her #2 skill. However, what separates the crappy Scylla players from the good ones is knowing just when to use this lovely root. You can interrupt quite a few skills, and even save teammates, with a well timed #1.
Scylla's #2 skill is her moneymaker-and I don't mean ass, cause she looks like 7 stop you pedo. Crush drops a huge time-bomb AoE circle that can be cast a second time to remotely detonate it. This thing covers a LOT of area, chances are, enemies won't be able to avoid it when you cast it seeing as it typically occupies two-thirds of the lane.
Scylla's #3 skill is her knock knock who is there URANUS, AND IT'S BURNING move. This allows you to pop up Zoey, (Yes she names her heads, do you even name your snakehound heads, you loser?) Who stays put for a few seconds, and provides the same effect as a ward in its AoE. You can cast the skill a second time to teleport to the head. Very nice.
Scylla's ult is the Quadruple-Headed Oh Jesus What Is That Headbutt Scissor Smack of Death. 100% accurate. This skill causes her to rise up like a loaf of bread in the oven, float across the map at increased speed wtih total CC immunity, then bring her wolfhound heads crashing down on an AoE to heavily damage opponents. The cool thing about this ult? If you get a kill with it, you can keep going. That means concievably, if your team sets you up, easy doubles and triples.
But they best part about all these skills? Like I said. WALLS ARE YOUR PLAYTHING. With the exception of her #1 skill, all the others can be used THROUGH WALLS. This means that Scylla has insane jungling potential. That's right. Next time you pick Jungle role, grab Scylla and watch your teammates stare. They'll never see it coming.
Obviously, this means that she works best in Joust, Siege, and Conquest, as you can't really hide and wreck in other modes. Loli queen does not apply everywhere. However, in instances where she can apply, ask your teammates to set you up by leading enemies down the lane to your side.
When enemies show up on your radar and you can see them through walls, toss your #2 on them and let it rip. The reaction time is so low with the huge AoE you'll rarely miss if you land on an enemy.
Additionally, #3 can be used to Hello Kitty through walls and then chain your #1 to trap your victim in a love hug of death. Going somewhere? Yes you are- s t r a i g h t t o h e l l.
Her ult can also be used through walls, and removing the enemy's ability to see you using the ult and where you're coming from reduces the chances they can evade it. So DO IT.
Don't just use your #3 to teleport into battle-use it to cleverly teleport OUT. If enemy team has decided it's time to gang up and beat up a little girl, let them know that you have an army of white knights available on your tumblr and you WILL be blogging about this, before #3'ing the ♥♥♥♥ out of there and laughing because scrubs can't wallhack. (VEL xinfinity)
Also use it to ward if an enemy is missing and you need to check side lanes-just be sure to stay on the move because if they see the ward-wolf, they'll know you're close by.
Because of her passive buff, you need to be VERY specific about building her. Try to max her skills singularly, starting with her #2 because of the damaging ability. Her #3 also provides passive MP5 as you build it, so it makes a good second max.
But Like, How Do I Build And Stuff?
Do I use mana stacks? Straight power?
No you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots have you even been paying attention this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Scylla. There is but ONE thing you need to build on her and that is PENETRATION. Because that's what she does. She penetrates. She penetrates walls, defenses, and buttocks. And she doesn't ask. Because she's Scylla.
Due to Scylla's versatility and the need to counterbuild in any situation, this build should not be used as a be-all end-all. Use your brain and know the game. These items tend to be the most applicable in general situation and all game modes, but build as needed. [Build is concurrent for Season 8 and was updated April 2021]
Your starter items now allow you to be a little more aggressive than Scylla in her young days, the Conduit Gem rewards you for patiently timing your skill shots as well as providing passive Mana conservation. I also recommend Chalice of Mana because it is one of my favorite underrated backup items that I feel doesn't see enough use.
Your boots are going to be Pen boots, and now as of Season 8 these babies now provide Lifesteal which means the previous need for a full lifesteal item for sustain is removed, I've found the 8% granted by Magi quite sufficient.
Your relic is a play by ear. You should know what you need based on the enemy team lineup.
Once the boots are complete, you want to start building Chronos Pendant and Spear of the Magus as your core items. Spear will make her an asset in team fights!
Once these are finished, you can finish off with some real power by capping with Spear of Desolation and Rod of Tahuti, then replacing the Conduit Gem with Obsidian Shard. The amount of combined penetration and cooldown will combine with Scylla's passive to do insane amounts of burst damage with her full rotation.
As an alternative for longer game modes where stack building is an option, Book of Thoth will give you a safer mana pool and higher endgame Power once evolved from full stacks, but will have to replace Obsidian Shard which can lower your tank shredding potential.
If you find yourself hard-pressed while levelling Scylla, replacing Desolation and Shard with Bancroft's Talon and Typhon's Fang can give you near the same level of base power with insane sustain, at the cost of Penetration and cooldown. They are very crutch items that I do not recommend for regular use but will do in a pinch.
[Build subject to change.]
Are We Done Yet?
Yes, we're done, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Get out of my guide and go play already. Spread the glory of the loli queen everywhere, and make enemy teams fear you like the terror of the deep you are.
