Getting YOU Chivalrous!
Many of you already are sitting here wondering what you're reading.
I Assure you this is a real guide.
First We Must Make You Understand Everything
I Mean Everything. Starting with the very meaning of existence.
We must ask ourselves: What does it mean to live? What are we here for?
What is YOUR purpose?
You might be asking. "Well Tetsu what's this got to do with Mount&Blade:Warband"
Because understanding your goal is an important part in Mount&Blade:Warband.
Chivalry is not for everyone. We are born and we die these two things are inevitable, But what we do inbeween is up to us. So now that you and the universe are ready for your transformation from mere peasant living to Chivalrous living we can proceed on to the next section of this guide.
Character Creation
Before starting character creation you should clearly think out your ideal character build.
First i'd like to start off by saying you don't have to start noble. As even commoners can make lords of themselves. Nobility is a title given not by blood, but by glorious achievment!
I'll now show you your base character stat's and show you how each option you choose affects your start.
(Credits to the wikipedia contributors for providing data)
Congratulations If you understand how to add and subtract you get the just of these pictures. Notice how picking noble doesn't actually provide the better statistics?
From here we must now create the way our character looks, spend however much time you want (or hit random) i take time to make the character look like me loosely Pick wherever you wish to start. This is entirely personal preference, as the starting mission is basically useless anyways.
Now respond appropriately to this situation.
Getting Started With Chivalry
Now you are ready to begin your adventure! (Somewhat).
There are plenty of things you still need to know. Starting with some rules of thumb.
1. Allways act in the best interest of the realm.
2. Never surrender and fight an honest cause.
3. Never act for any reason anti-chivalrous.
Now you know how to act, BUT NOW WE MUST WORRY ABOUT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS!
That's right. This world is barbaric, and you're stuck right in the middle of it after whatever has lead you down this path. (And you're broke, also way more dumb and inexperienced than you thought)
That's right you've been right cucked by Taleworlds. The starting options have no effect on the rest of the game. (only your immediate stats and starting equipment) WHATEVER SHALL WE DO?!?! Simple. We shall grind! Make it your mission to wipe any Ner-do-wells off the face of Calradia. All the while traveling from tournament to tournament betting on yourself because more money = better gear, and better gear = more dead bandits
I'll show you an efficient way to make quick cash in the next section.
Trading Chivalrously
Money is life or death to the mercenary captain. As currency is required in order to maintain a properly chivalrous troop. (and heavy cavalry costs alot) (Heavy Cavalry is best but we'll get there) Through my own experience i've noticed that every game I play, Wercheg(Nords) sells cheap salt, Which can be sold at high prices across all of calradia, Namely, the very close Rivacheg(Veigars), Where you can sell SOME of the salt.(AND whatever loot you've gotten from sea raiders and taiga bandits along the way) The best part about rivacheg is it allways sells RAW SILK! (Which means you need to save up 10,000 Denars so you can start a silk dyery!) Curaw(Veigars) You should sell your remaining salt and purchase some Iron for cheap, Selling it at Sargoth(Nords). With this process you can pick up plenty of quests with local lords to increase renown and make friendships. (the bandit raiding is the main focus in this process) Be sure to visit plenty of taverns,
and check the arena for finding tournaments to win.
(There are many similar trade routs across the entirety of calradia, I simply prefer this route because of the bandit raiding potential)
Chivalrous Troops
You'll be making fine use of the noble beast. (As I explained earlier Heavy cavalry is the best troop option) Some however, may hold a different opinion. I find myself training Archers / Infantry only for defending castles and towns. Because horses greatly increase the damage and mobility of your troops, there's no point in even leaving them in a garrison. (they can't use their horses!) It Also helps your parties movement speed on the map. You can get cavalry down the Veigar Recruits - Swadian Recruits - Sarranid Recruits - Khergit Recruits
(The Nords and Rhodoks missed the call of the noble stallion)
