Let's Get You Up And Running Again

Did you just start Mass Effect 2 and realise that achievements had stopped popping?

That's because you downloaded the EA app of course, the latest buggy innovation from one of the world's most successful and greedy company's.

We all hated loved Origin, so it's somewhat of a surprise to find EA forcing a replacement on us. That’s so unlike them, forcing their drm down our throats. Unfortunately, while Steam Achievements work on Mass Effect 1 they will not unlock on 2 or 3.

Now, you could wait for EA to issue a fix... HA, HA, HA HA HA HA!

No, seriously, here's the solution: Uninstall the EA app!

STEP 1: If you don't already have Origin running, go get it, but make sure it isn't running.

STEP 2: Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin\ and load up local.xml in Notepad

STEP 3: Add the following line: <Setting key= "MigrationDisabled" type= "1" value= "true" /> at the bottom

STEP 4: Save file as .xml (NOT txt)

STEP 5: Run Origin.

Problem solved! Now you can start earning those sweet, sweet, Steam achievements again :) Have a great day, and remember, EA cares!
