"Don't Give Up!" achievement (save file)

How-to

0. If you don't have hidden folders visible and don't know how to make them so, then either search up "show hidden folders" or "show AppData". This guide will also assume you use Win7 or something similar that has the hidden folder deal.

Head to the Pastebin link to find a Mediafire link (because Steam censors Mediafire links) which should contain a folder and one file within.

Open up the zip file and do this to make my save file compatible with yours:

Originally posted by Prab:https://trappar.github.io/hyperlightdrifter-transfer/ Use this site to help make the save file from OP Compatible with your save files. Copy paste the text from OP's save file in the 1st slot and one of your saves in the second. The output should be compatible and working with your PC. Worked for me.

Locate where the game's save folder is which is just called "HyperLightDrifter".

By default it's in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\

It's recommended to make a backup file of your entire HyperLightDrifter folder or place it somewhere else temporarily. If you're going to do either of those, make another "HyperLightDrifter" folder in the "Local" folder.

Add my save file that you modified via the transfer tool above into the "HyperLightDrifter" folder.

Start the game up, head to "LOAD GAME", and what should appear is a save file called "DON'T GIVE UP"

After it's loaded, the file should start out with The Drifter at one bar of health.

Just fall into a pit & die. That should get you the achievement.

If you made a backup or placed your old folder somewhere else and if you want the files to be the way they were before all this, delete the new folder and either rename the backup back to what it used to be and/or place the original folder back onto Local.

Alternate Method To Step 2

If you can't get the link provided above on step 2 to work, try this instead.

Originally posted by The Social Misfit:Unfortunately, I've had some troubles with the trappar.github link, however I found a way to be able to make the save file compatible with your own. So each save file (when opened with Notepad) is all encrypted, but before the string of letters saying "eyAiYmFk" is your personal ID per computer. All I had to do was go to a previous save file, save everything before "eyAiYmFk", copy it over the other string of text before eyAiYmFk (so replaced it.). And it should work, as it did for me! Hopefully this helps someone save some time in the future.
