Warning - before we beginWindows 7 is not officially supported for this game. I can't vouch for the validity of this guide after future updates. Hopefully they keep the WIN7 executables. This guide will have you renaming files and executing the CMD window with Administrator privileges. If you are unfamiliar with anything in this guide I suggest you don't proceed.

How Steam Launches PatronThere are two executable files that we are interested in here:

GameLauncher.exe

Patron_WIN7.exe

By default Steam launches GameLauncher.exe when you click the Play button. If you have Windows 7 this will result in a brief moment where the Play button will say "Stop" and then it reverts to "Play" again. In essence, it won't launch.

The FixTo make this work we first need to rename the GameLauncher.exe file to something else. I renamed it to GameLauncher.bak_exe

Now open the start menu in Windows 7. In the search box type CMD. Above you should see CMD.exe listed under Programs. Right click on it and choose "Run as Administrator".

The CMD window will open. Type cd.. and then enter twice (see screenshot below). then type in: mklink "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Patron\GameLauncher.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Patron\Patron_WIN7.exe"

Hit Enter. If done correctly you should see this:

You should also see this in your Patron folder:

Whats going on here?Basically we have told Windows that whenever we launch GameLauncher.exe that it should run Patron_WIN7.exe. If you re-install the game or verify files it will revert back, so keep that in mind.

That is it!Now go back to your Library and click on Patron, Click Play, enjoy!
