Introduction
In Earth Defense Force 4.1, the only way to get the best weapons is to play on the game's hardest difficulty level -- Inferno. It might seem impossible at first, but certain Inferno missions are easier to farm than others.
Most EDF fans follow this basic strategy; play through the full game on Normal to unlock all the levels, then go back to play through on Hard, then Hardest, and finally Inferno -- all the while collecting Armor upgrades and higher level weapons. If you're not that patient or just want some powerful weaponry to blast through levels in a breeze, we've got a few tips and suggestions.
BEST INFERNO MISSION FOR WEAPON FARMING:
Before attempting to farm Inferno missions, you'll need to unlock missions -- this can be done on Easy or Normal.
Higher level Inferno missions will always drop better weapons than lower level. Mission 53 will always drop better stuff than Mission 2.
Below we'll list some of the better missions for Inferno farming, but you'll need to be prepared before going in. Collect 900-1000 Armor to stay alive and bring at least Level 18-20 weapons.
Mid-level Inferno missions will typically drop Level 55-90 weapons. Even if you can only collect two or three green boxes, there's a good chance you'll always get new weapons.
MISSION 14: PREVENTING LANDFALL

Hang back and let the AI deal with both waves of Hectors. Simply rush in once the area is clear to grab green crates. It's a slow mission, but relatively safe and easy for any class at any skill level to complete. (and if for some reason the ai is not doing much for you, just let them aggro the Hectors as you snipe/missle launcher them from a safe distance)
MISSION 27: CRIMSON

Here is a video on how to get atop the tree for anyone still confused =

In this mission you will be at a beach that gets overrun by red chargin ants and on the third wave black and red ants, there is a safe way to do this mission with a wing diver by flying up and standing on top of a tree and shooting them safely from there as shown in the screenshots below

NOTE = if you try this mission with low level weapons it will be a painfully slow mission to finish, the mission can also be done using a helicopter with air raider aswell i heard.
MISSION 31: BRUTE FORCE
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=732177017
This mission is somewhat similar to mission 14 except that its much grander in scale, you can use the npc as bait as they draw the hectors and drones fire to them as you focus on taking out the shield bearers. This mission has the most armor droprate in the game, you can get around 150 to 300 armor per mission aswell as a ton of weapons, also this mission can be done on easier modes and you will still get the massive amounts of armor and weapon drops.
MISSION 50: BLUE FIGHTERS
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=870162359
Mission 50 "Blue Fighters" is somewhat easy to do on INFERNO if you are careful and use strong long range weapons from a safe distance. At the start of the mission immediatley kill the drop ship that spawns above you and whatever hectors it spawned, the second dropship slowly circles the map dropping only two machinegun hectors at a time. After killing the first dropship there, the remaining dropship will spawn two hectors on the field at once, so you just keep killing them and collecting whatever they drop. When you are done farming, kill the second dropship and two shield hectors will spawn. Finish collecting whatever's left and flank the shield hectors and destroy them.
MISSION 57: CRASH
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=730370629
This later mission involves the enormous Walking Fortress mech. The Erginus, the Godzilla-like giant lizard, also appears in this mission.
Why is this mission easy on Inferno? Because you can take control of the Walking Fortress. It has 999999 Armor and powerful attacks. Get used to it's weird controls and you can safely complete this mission every single time.
After killing all the target enemies, you won't have much time to collect green boxes before the mission is over. Hop out of the mech and don't get too greedy or the swarming ants will destroy you. Sometimes you'll only be able to get one or two crates per run, but this mission is easily the safest with Rangers or Air Raiders.
MISSION 81: MACHINE SQUAD
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=730370753
For this mission, you'll want powerful weapons -- the Lysander Z, the Stringer J9 or the Stampede XM will work. Similar class / level weapons can make this late game mission very easy.
Remember, you can farm Hardest before attempting Inferno. It's significantly easier and can unlock some of the same amazing weapons.
Clear the first wave of incoming Deroys from the ships, then move to the western edge of the map and hop into the water on the shore. When the Earth Eaters appear in the sky, destroy the Deroys and the red enemy spawning sections nearest the shore first.
Return to your AI helpers at the mission spawn and destroy one of the two huge Deroys that appear. Now you can either collect Armor and Weapon crates, or destroy the super-Deroy.
The end of the mission features some dialogue so you have extra time to run around the area collecting crates.
NOTES!!!
IMPORTANT NOTE! =
In the original guide the mission names and numbers are slightly diffrent because it's from the PS4 version and guide didn't include the DLC missions that were added later on which we have in the PC version of this game when playing in = ONLINE MODE.
Also if anyone has other suggestions for best weapon farming missions for INFERNO difficulty please let me know in the comments!
