Step By Step
Step One: Notice your health bar has dropped to 1 immediately after receiving damage.
Step Two: Hit the 'ESC' button before you are certain that your run is going to end. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SPACE TO HIT THE 'ESC' BUTTON.
Step Three: Select the 3rd option in the menu usually called 'I'm outta here!' This will take you back to the main menu.
Step Four: Select continue. You should be back to the start of the last played stage with the same amount of progress you entered it with. You did it. You saved your run.
