M20 Basics

M20 Ace image 1

So first of all, M20 is multipurpose car and it works perfectly against any target, especially against tanks (if you have loads of muni, and want to waste it on mines).

Or it works very good against infantry if it's used right.

Also if you add bulletins for M20, such as the one which increases it's line of sight & range of it's weapon it will be much more useful, because after vet. 1 (which also increases it's line of sight) it will be the best scout car you can find. (At least for USF)

And have you ever thought about how exactly are you going to use it? Yes? Well, for me, M20 is first of all anti-tank mine planter, but most of the time I use it on the frontline to support my infantry (more information about tactics, combinations and abillities in the 2nd/3rd parts of the guide called 'M20, Infantry's worst nightmare' and 'M20, The tank terror').

Also, if you feel like you're good in controling M20, you should try to place bulletins for M20, like the one which increases sight & range of weapon (as I said before, it's very useful) or the one which gives you -6% of mines cost.

M20, Infantry's Worst Nightmare (Tactic #1)

Usually people use M20 only for planting the mines, but I don't agree with that point of view, because M20 is beast if it's used in combinations.

For example, we obviously unlock the building with Lt. which gives us 3 new units

M20

M15A1 AA Half-Track

M2HB .50 cal Machine Gun Team So we can try to combine M20 with AA half-track or with M2HB, and these combinations give us very good result.

As we finished with combinations, I am going to tell you the tactic #1.

We obviously build M20, then depending on fuel and what are you going to build in future (For example if you're planning to build Easy 8's you should save fuel) we build M2HB or AA half-track,

then we place one of those 2 units (AA half-track or M2HB) in a good spot from which it can easily shoot in anything that comes to it. When those steps are done we try to find those infantry blobs with panzershreks or volks with panzerfausts, and catch their attention by shooting them from far distance with our mighty M20. When the bad guys finaly see you, start slowly running back to your M2HB (or AA half-track) from them (using U button for getting back with out turning) because they will try to get you and finish you with pz.shreks or pz.fausts. And tadan, when you've finally got them into your awesome trap, watch how they're being surpressed by your AA half-track (or M2HB) and when they finally can't move, come close and finish them with M20 (Ps. when they willl start retreating from your mighty battle position, if you feel risky, you can try to go after them with M20 and kill the entire squad or two... or even three)

M20, The Tank Terror (Tactic #2)

In the previous part I told you about how to use it combined with other types of units and now I will tell you how to use M20 with out any support(nearly with out support).

So we begin with saving as much muni as possible, then we unlock building with Lt. (as always) and then build the M20, so in the beggining of game, we have lack of AT power and our enemy can easily kill all of our infantry with tanks (if you and your team failed to capture fuels) and we must be ready for that. So first of all, when your M20 arrives, send it to "No man's land" or to Victory Points, or Fuel Points, or any other points which you want/need to hold, and place 1 or 2 mines there (skill in placing mines is something I can't teach, you have to realize where will the tanks most likely go by yourself, and put mines on their way). So after the 'mine placing' job is done, you can go and try to kill as much hostile infantry, as possible (keep in mind that you should always see where your M20 goes and where the enemy is, one wrong movement and bad guys kill it). When sooner or later you will see that Axis Panzers are coming, and you should keep an eye on your mines, because if tank gets hit, you should ASAP travel to that tank and finish it with M20's crew (using Bazookas) or ping it on the map, so your allies can cook a schnitzel out of it. While you were doing previous steps, you got more muni and you're ready to place some new tank traps, go for it, and once again place mines on the most important points. Well that's it, continue repeating the previous steps -> plant mines -> kill infantry -> cook schnitzel out of tanks which triggered your mines -> plant mines -> kill infantry -> cook schnitzel out of tanks which triggered your mines.

M20, Drop Smoke Everyday

So first of all, I suppose you guys have noticed that I didn't say anything about the mighty smoke abillity, well I thought that I should keep it 'till this section. So the smoke it self is very, very, very useful thing, it can save you from tanks, it can save you from infantry, it's the only thing that can save you when you've made a misstake. I prefer using smoke to make a trap for infantry (look at Tactic #1, when infantry is running after me, I drop smoke, so when they get out of smoke they get surpressed by my units) or to save me when I am planting the mine (look at Tactic #2) because you can be detected while planting and bad guys may try to kill you, and you have no defense at all but smoke. Also there's a little bit weird type of using smoke, but sometimes it may be good (worked 8 out of 10 times for me) so we rush enemy blob, make smoke, then order airstrike right there (the thing is, if you're lucky enough, enemy won't see the red smoke because of the white one that you've dopped there and hostile troops will be killed very fast by the airstrike). Also there's one high-risk, crazy tactic, which rarely works (3 out of 10 times) but it can save your Tank. So you can see that your tank is hardly hit and enemy is going to finish it, you rush your enemy's Panzer and drop smoke, and give your Tank a bit more time to run, which can save it sometimes

Thank you for reading this guide.

If you have any other tactics that you use with M20, or any tips on M20, you can write down in comments and I will try to include them in my guide. And sorry for bad grammar, English isn't my first language.

(Ps. I will add a few IRL photos of my M20 figures soon :D)
