Chimeraland Tips and Information

Introduction

Hello all, this guide hopefully will help new players by explaining some mechanics that I constantly see asked. It should be noted that the in-game tutorial does a decent job of explaining a lot of mechanics/systems but certainly isn't perfect. These are all listed in no specific order and some might also be tips rather than simple explanations.

All of these are based on the Steam version of the game and as such I cannot talk about mobile controls/elements.

These are all based on things that I have experienced on Global version of the game as well as heard through the Official Discord Page.

FAQ

Where can I find X resource?

- Clay is found near rivers/ponds

- Crystals in the ocean

- Royle Spruge found near desert mountains

- Anise in forests/plains

- Mushrooms only at night everywhere

- Ice found in tundras

--- Use the Orientation function in the V menu to search for specific resources

What happens if I die?

- Nothing at all.

- Grand beast can reset their health though if combat is dropped long enough.

- Don't waste consumables in Encounters as death means nothing during them.

Do i need to spend money?

- Nope, everything power-related can be done through in-game activities without much problem/time spent. Early game is little slow/tedious but does get better once you can fight Grand Beasts.

How to get Team charms?

- Game pod gives you one a day once you hit level 5

Where can I find Golden sands, bosses, totems, etc.

- The in-game map tells you where everything is all the time provided you have interacted with the Central Pillar.

How to get a Level 2 Oven?

- Need lots of mushrooms and then need to craft the recipes needed at a Level 2 Camp.

- Or buy them at the Auction House.

Good Pets early game?

- Black Horse is solid while the Yungang Dragon is also solid.

How to get a mermaid?

- There are specific Mermaid fishing spots in the world, go to them and fish there. To fish there, you will need to stand on a house though and will need a blue fishing rod.

Things People Aren't Talking About

How are people getting Unsoul weapons?

- Prior to fighting Noble Beasts, the only Grand Beast that drops these is Piscertus which is found near water.

How to get lots of gold quick?

- Craft a siege x-bow, go to Centralmount and shoot the Mixed Ore Mines from afar using the Siege X-bow.

--- You will burn lots of energy doing this, but its worth it if you know what you plan on doing for the day.

Is Inspiriting worth it?

- Yes. There are several good Runes but the current best is called "Radiance", this rune decrease the time to kill Grand Beasts by 20-30%.

--- These are found from both Totems and Legends.

Are Mermaids good?

- Yes, they are easy to acquire and fairly cheap to get ones that max at level 70 which is massive power gain when invested into.

How are people getting Fenix+ weapons and armor?

- Four ways: Noble Beasts, High-level Encounters, Boss Trial Totems and Refining RNG.

--- Refining is well worth the investment due the difficulty it takes to level, but every 10 refines, you get an item that is one rarity above the general level you are at.

These people keep posting these Fenix items, are they good?

- Usually no. Meridian Power is the most important element to an extent. Thus a Fenix item that is only 2k power is worthless is most cases due to the difficulty/time spent getting it vs an unsoul/impure one.

--- There is some bad attributes that give absurd amounts of power, but most of them are solid and due to the way the game relies on power for most activities, power is what matters not rarity.

What about Space?

- There is some thing in space, but not much. Scenic points are largely it.

--- Yes you can build house and base in space.

Weapons + Armor + Power

All equipable items (armor, weapons, etc) have both durability and hardness. Once hardness is gone, that item cannot be repaired again and thus will be useless eventually. You can get weapons and armor from several activities: Grand beast drop them, Totem trials, boss trials, Mirage bosses, Legends, Daily/weekly events, and Encounters. There is only one creature that drops Unsoul weapons and it is the Piscurtus. Yes, one grand beast drops weapons before the nobles are counted. All other grand beasts drop armor only. Hunting Totems give you armor while Battle Totems give you weapons. Boss Totems give weapons while Grand Beast Totems give armor. Totems have limited number of uses. If you find an advanced totem, you should activate it until it has one normal activation left, then use Totem Trial Stones to get more uses out of it. Normal Activations and Totem Trial Stone Activations are separate uses thus you can get double out of one totem if done right. That yellow bar on top of your health and on bottom of enemies is END (Endurance?) when it is broken enemies will become stunned/knocked down for a short period of time. Most enemies often have what I call Weak Spots which will allow most ranged and some melee weapons to do bonus damage on them such as Heads of humanoids. This can be seen by the big orange numbers that do substantially more damage than other locations. To damage and defeat Noble Beasts, you need Noble Seals which are acquired from daily activities. You need Meridian Power for most things in the game, you can check the sources of power through Character page (I) and top left. The easiest way of increasing power is through gear and leveling pets/attendants. Don't forget sigils and constellations as they give several thousand depending on choice/progression. Easy way of getting sigils are from the Meditation -> Mirage boss fights as well as the Game Pod -> Totem Trials. Giant Beasts have an enrage timer of 30 minutes, after this they will regenerate to full health. Beat them before this. Focus is an important stat, you can read what it does in-game by clicking on the focus icon in the Character Page. (There is other ones also important to read and check out, END doesn't work) Sleeping in a bed recovers Focus fast-ish while eating high-level foods also recover focus. Levels are weird in this game. You can defeat creatures multiple levels above you fairly easier. Meridian Power/important stats are what define your strength more than raw level.

Pets/Attendants

The Yungang Dragon is pretty decent but super ugly and slow for a mount. Black horse is solid starter. Another good pet are the fairy's which are Inkdrop, Bluffpush, and Azure Light. They deal big AOE attacks and heal themselves often. Condors are the fastest flyers and Leapobeak are the fastest ground mounts but black horse keeps up well. (Black horse also has auto run with the Shift button) Pet levels matter very little if you use a bunch of maturity pills on them. Pet attributes matter far more. The Mustard Capture tools has important info in its description. For capturing grand beasts, you will need a purple capture tool to be able to get eggs from them, same goes for yellow and red creatures end-game. No Capture tool has hardness, thus you will need to keep making them all the time. Attendants are worth 2-3 times more than pets for most of the game. Upgrading attendants with good armor and solid weapons is ideal. For Attendants to do good damage, they need to have a ranged weapon such as Multi-Xbow and need to have weapon virtuoso with that specific weapon. To do Qi Training which unlocks Weapon virtuoso for any weapon, you need to go to a location that is dependant on the rarity of the attendant. So if you have a blue attendant you can go up to 30 paces which is 10% damage for weapons. This means you need to go to a location that is low to the ground vertically such as beaches whereas higher Qi training requires you to eventually go up mountains and beyond. You can heal Attendants during this training. You get a ton of Maturity Pills from the Devour Trials via the Game Pod. Make sure to do as many as you can. The recommended power level is just that, you can keep going until you hit a level block. These are used on both pets and attendants. All pets/attendants have 3 primary stats to them: Health, Defense and Attack. These combined equal the Power level of your pet. You can check these on the Attribute page in the pet menu and see the power in the top left of the pet menu. When an egg is hatched, it will have randomized attributes, to make you're life easier long-term, you want to hatch an egg with good stats so save money/time on maturity pills and food. If you want a flying creature early, the best choice is either insects (which suck for travelling) or obtaining vulture which can be found near mountains and deserts around level 25-30. You are able to get wings and fins on many/most creatures, to do so you must devour creatures with wings/fins and then place them on your mount. Devouring a pet can be done anywhere including your own house/base. Tiny creatures (Companions) cannot devour and/or are useless for battle thus are cosmetic. A temp. pet is something that you can summon that only lasts for 5 minutes. During this time it can be ridden and used just like a normal mount. Devouring pets are a solid way of leveling up pets if you don't have xp pills. (Fortuphants are 8k-15k Xp per devour) There is an item that can be acquired from the Battle pass that gives Capture tools 15% increase chance of eggs. Condor temps are a solid way of making money through the Auction House. Currently there is only 5 Evolution in-game, the twitter account/discord has a guide on how to acquire each of them. You can check the description of Temps to see what parts can be devoured. If you devour the same temp creature 5 times in a consecutive row then you are guaranteed a part devour if the have one. Does not mean the one that you want though. Mermaids are BiS attendants with Medusa being the best but if you capture mermaids and "Fry" them up to being legendary or even Purple they are super strong. Acquiring mermaids can be done through the ocean at certain spots or the store for Sage. You can only fish for mermaids while standing on a platform, thus you need someone to have made a house on the ocean for you get mermaids. Pet Refining/Eating eggs give your pet attributes similar to Maturity pills. The difference is that the amount/scaling is drastically lower and you can only get so many attribute points based on the level of the pet. Pet refining is key for making your pet super strong end-game. Pet Essences are acquired from eating the eggs of certain creatures. (Found in-game by hovering on the essence icons) So the idea of getting an essence is that you have a base 20% of getting it from the specific grand beast. But as your pet eats more eggs, it will increase the chance of getting that essence up to 80% total. So you eat garbage pets to increase your chance of getting the good essence from the grand beast eggs. You need Essences to upgrade the rarity of your pet which increases its max level thus allowing you to make any pet super good end-game.

Farming

Plant says "Paused"? You must fertilize both the farmland and the plants. You do this by going into the build menu (= keybind) then hitting F7 and Left clicking on the farmland itself. By fertilizing the plant you reduce the time for the plant to grow (the exact amount depends on the item used which can be seen when you hover over the item in the fertilizer menu). By fertilizing the farmland, you simply increase the time any plant can grow. As farmland increases, the capacity of fertilization is increased thus higher tiers allow you to spend less time fertilizing the farmland and more time doing other things. I would highly recommend getting the Irrigation Device which is a tool that will shot plant ash and fertilize the farmland itself. This lets you skip the tedious process that is going into the build menu etc. The Irrigation Sprinkler is kinda bad at the moment. Tier 1 is just a circle surrounding the sprinkler and lets you fill it which will fertilize both land and plants so it can save time but at the cost of less crops. Tier 2 is likely much more worth it though. Regarding wood essence/genios, to get these you need to plant crops and will usually get essence each harvest with a low chance of genios. The rarity/tier of the essence/genio is based on the lowest level of either crop of field. Thus if you plant a Purple plant on a green farmland, you will only get green essences/genio rather than the purple versions. The best way to think of the farm is literally a place where you can never have to worry about certain gathering items. I haven't had to go out of my way to get anise or other healing plants because i have a large farm which provides for me daily. Planting trees gives you a large chance of obtaining it's specific rare drop item such as Poplar sap from Poplar trees. The cultivator does a couple of things: burns temp pets to create soul ash which is unique fertilize specific for Venus Flytrap Seeds and the cultivator can also create higher tier seeds from lower ones. It works like this: using 3 tier 1s will net you a tier 3 seed or using 2 tier 2s with create a tier 4, etc.

Housing

You can move your house freely, anything you place can be removed and either refunded the cost or the full item back. This is done through the Home menu and clicking Home. The same idea can be used for your base and camp. Anything destroyed/removed will go into your inventory or the Claim options in Home Menu. To have a friend build in your home area, you invite them to a party then left click their portrait to invite them to coop build. There is no upgrades for most housing items, only crafting stations. This includes that wood and stone have the same values and are chosen for aesthetic rather then functionality. To level your housing level, you need both the materials listed on the home tab as well as the Building Contribution Points above the listed materials. The easiest way of gaining Building Contribution Points is from obtaining the any of the structural researches from the Spirit Orb such as Foundation+, Partition+, Ridge+, etc Once you get some of these acquired you can then simply place and stack them somewhere within your home radius. (I built a lumber stack that has gotten me to 3k+) Do the method above won't get you to every level due to build limits, you can also get a large amount of Building Contribution Points from the individual researches within the Base and Build Tab. Read the descriptions will enlighten you. You can make your house and base pretty much anywhere in the world... and beyond such as space on those various planets and moons. You can heat/cool your home using tier 4 Arcane items found in the Spirit Orb. You can also make a house breathable underwater using similar items. A Home is a home and a Base is a farm. Crude Drawers are poorly translated Storage Chests. There is no greater version beyond the Candy Chest/Branch Cabinet which comes from some claimable thing. I don't remember exactly. Your player progression is gated behind housing activities, make sure to level housing and acquire the researches from the Spirit Orb. Houses can be destroyed after a set time period by other players if they are let unattended. EX: you stop playing game for longer than 2 weeks. Players who do this can fix it by using a broom to clean their house or other player houses.

General Stuff

Pressing V will open a menu that does lots of things, explore it. The Official Discord has a page on all the recipes in-game. Zenith Rockets will take you space, you interact with them under the platform itself and feed it materials. When it comes to life skills, I would advise that you focus on spending your skill points on things that increase your non-combat abilities such as chances for no energy spend, base-product increases and esp anything involving probability chances for rare items. But do whatever you think is best. To change your race, you have to spend amber on an item, no way to make it for free from what I can tell :( You get one free appearance change at some point during main quest line, use it wisely. You can grab Bounties from any human village, the easiest thing is to press V then teleport to Main City. You need to interact with a statue and then you get a choice of 3 quick missions, choose whatever you can complete that's worth the most.0 Condor temps are a solid way of making money through the Auction House. You will need Pale Jade. You see Green Ore, you mine it no matter what. Game Pod offers a decent amount of money from all of its activities if you find yourself short. Do your daily content and you will have plenty of items and progression. Always try to have a backup weapon/armor even after you hit purple. Servers have a max level. However, this is actually just a soft cap that reduces exp gain after you hit this level. Pressing O (not zero) tells you your buffs/debuffs including server level/xp. The rate of this max level varies but it seems to go up every day roughly 1-3 levels. No clue what the true cap is. Iron, Silver, and Copper exist everywhere, but each continent has one of these as their common resource making it easy to get on that one continent. Each of the 3 starting continents have a few unique things such as creatures and resources. EX: Eastmount has Newts and Silver. Use the Auction House a lot, it pretty awesome. Particularly the Request Tab. PVP is weird and not really a focus of the game, don't play for the pvp. There is a few things that I always get on a daily basis: Oyster Feast and Pet XP box from the in-game shop, Tooth Traps from both Clan and Home Shop, Battle/hunting trial stones from home shop. There is a large number of daily items that you can claim inside both the Home Shop, Clan Store, and Game Shop. I am talking about the ones that cost Crowlies rather than everything else. There is many red exclamation marks on the UI often. They are often representing rewards that are well worth grabbing. Follow the main questline and pay attention to what it says as it will explain lots. Most of your XP comes from 3 sources: Daily bounties, Daily Secret Training, and Daily Oster Feasts. You can trade with players at level 35, but this is only for items that cost Crowlies. To trade anything that costs rubies, the receiving player must issue a request for the cheapest price. The best way of getting gold is going to Centralmount and using a siege xbow to destroy the mixed ore mines from afar. This costs lots of stamina but Mixed Ore Mines have much higher drop rate of gold than other mines.
