MWZ Weapon Stats (and their PaP versions)

Why these particular health values?

In fact, everything is quite simple.

It is known that a blow with a rifle butt does 90 damage.

And if you hit a level 1 zombie with a rifle butt, you'll notice that it loses exactly half of its health.

With a level 2 zombie, things are a bit more complicated - in order to get exactly 1635 health (and not 1634), you need to:

Hit them 17 times with a rifle butt (1530 damage)

Shoot 3 times with a weapon that deals exactly 35 damage (for example, in the legs with BP50)

With level 3 zombies, it's even more complicated:

you need to take Stormender and power it up to the maximum (Legendary + 3 PaP) - so you'll get 1280 damage.

And after 10 shots with such a weapon, the second player with Stormender without any amplification will shoot 21 more times, so that the zombie dies on the 21st shot.Of course, there is an error of 40 damage, but it is 0.29%.

According to the damage values that zombies receive, you can calculate the approximate damage of almost any weapon. And according to it, you can try to determine the health of special zombies.

However, it is almost impossible to find out the exact values without datamining, so the error may be more significant.

Difficulties in calculations

A very tangible problem when trying to calculate the damage was the way zombies behave.

The fact is that they are quite inconsistent in their movements and their internal resistance can vary greatly.

For example, some zombies in Zone 2 are super sprinters and hit with appropriate speed.

Many zombies hold their arms out in front of them or swing them, which can result in hits to the arms, and weapons can do different damage to the arms than to the chest (not to mention the lower torso).

In addition, zombies never walk alone, and they usually sleep in a group of 4.

And it's not easy to destroy 3 of them to leave the 4th one unharmed without very strong weapons.

If there is no error due to the human factor, the error in the calculations is usually within 5%.

What do additional markings mean?

Sometimes there will be additional markings next to the weapon damage, which means the following:

⚪️ - no change in practice

🟢 - less than doubling the damage

(nothing) - within doubling the damage +- 7% (error margin)

🟣 - more than doubling the damage

🔴 - holly molly

Why is this important?

The fact is that although there is a perception that Pack-a-Punch simply increases damage by 2 times, this is not entirely true.

Often, it is exactly 2 times, but there are many cases where this value can differ significantly - both up and down.

And what about the other upgrades?

According to preliminary tests, all other amplifications work exactly as advertised, namely:

Green tool+50% damage*1,5Blue tool+100% damage*2Purple tool+200% damage*3Orange tool+300% damage*4

Pack-a-Punch 2*2 damage (from PaP-1 version)Pack-a-Punch 3*4 damage (from PaP-1 version)

Thus, the maxed-out weapon will deal 16 times more damage compared to the first Pack-a-Punch version.
