Ways Towers/Upgrades Can Buff Other Towers

Guide Information

This guide is mostly for myself. If you happen to find anything I've missed in this guide, and are willing to share, I will add it to the guide after confirming.

Most exact percentages or numbers I give for buffs or upgrades are taken either from testing, or the Fandom wiki. I'd recommend going to the Fandom wiki, but I personally believe it's the worst site on the internet. Try using the new wiki [bloonswiki.com] . While unfinished, it will contain less advertisements, and will not sell your data as much.

in this guide, buffs are defined as anything that causes an icon to appear over a tower, granting them stronger attributes. Buffs can be both temporary or permanent, and some have important things to note.

I will not be including towers that debuff Bloons in this guide, such as Glue Strike (x-4-x Glue Gunner), Embrittlement (4-x-x Ice Monkey), or Cripple Moab (5-x-x). If there is a tower that both debuffs and buffs at the same time, I will make a note of it.

When a tower is listed as "x-x-x", an "x" refers to a specific path that monkey can take. For instance, a "4-0-2" Dart Monkey has upgraded the top path up to tier 4, and bottom path up to tier 2. When the prior example is listed as "4-x-x", it means that the crosspath does not matter.

Listed below is what text being bold, italic, or underlined means.

If it only buffs itself, or towers the same as itself, it will just be underlined.

If it can buff nearby towers, it will be both underlined and in italics.

Relevant information or notes about Hero abilities will be both underlined and bold.

Primary Monkeys

Dart Monkey: Only the middle path for this tower can buff other towers, and it only includes Dart Monkeys. When using the abilities from the middle path, it will transform 10 nearby Dart Monkeys into Super or Plasma Monkeys.

Boomerang Monkey: This tower can buff all Primary Monkeys, including Paragons, using Glaive Dominus (5-5-5).

Bomb Shooter: This tower cannot grant buffs.

Tack Shooter: This tower cannot grant buffs.

Ice Monkey: This tower may grant all Ice Monkeys greater attack speed using the Absolute Zero (x-5-x) ability.

Glue Gunner: This tower cannot grant buffs.

Military Monkeys

Sniper Monkey: This tower may buff other Sniper Monkeys with the middle path. Middle path grants all Sniper Monkeys greater reload speed (33%), and "Elite" targeting (Targets Strong until Bloons make it near the end of the track, then it will target First. It will also cause them to focus on Ceramics and Rainbows more than MOABs until they are far along the track).

Monkey Sub: This tower may buff other towers with top path, and Monkey Subs with bottom path. Top path may reduce ability cooldowns on nearby towers, and even grant extra Hero EXP with Energizer (5-x-x). Bottom path grants +4 pierce and doubles damage for all affected Monkey Subs. Sub Commander (x-x-5) may affect towers in its range, or map wide with Monkey Knowledge. This tower also has a Paragon, which while submerged grants faster ability cooldowns to other Paragons, 7x damage and 3x pierce for heroes (at the cost of attack speed), and nearby Monkey Subs gain the same buff, but without the slower attack speed.

Monkey Buccaneer: This tower may buff other towers with top path, other Monkey Buccaneers with bottom path, and also grants buffs with its Paragon. Top path will grant all water based towers and Monkey Aces an 18% attack speed boost globally. Bottom path grants up to 20 Merchantmen (x-x-3) 10$ additional income each, or Favored Trades (x-x-4) 20$ additional income each. Bottom path also grants each bottom path Buccaneer +1 damage, and an additional +1 damage to MOABs and Ceramics. The Paragon, Navarch of the Seas (5-5-5) will grant the same buffs as the previous two upgrades, but they can also affect other Paragons.

Monkey Ace: This tower cannot grant buffs.

Heli Pilot: This tower cannot grant buffs.

Mortar Monkey: This tower may grant buffs to other Mortar Monkeys with the middle path. With the bottom path, Pop and Awe (x-5-x) grants all Artillery Batteries (x-4-x) +1 BAD and Boss Bloon damage.

Sun Temple and True Sun God support bonuses can stack.

Shinobi Tactics will grant each Ninja, including itself, within range an 8% pierce and attack speed buff, up to 20 times. Grand Saboteur will grant all x-3-x or higher Ninja Monkeys on the map +10 range and +2 damage to non-MOAB Bloons.

Alchemist: This tower may grant buffs with the top and middle paths. Top path has 4 upgrades that grant buffs, Acidic Mixture Dip, Berserker Brew, Stronger Stimulant, and Permanent Brew. Acidic Mixture Dip gives any affected tower +1 damage to Ceramics and MOABs, and allows them to pop leads. Berserker Brew grants any affected tower +1 damage, +10% range, 10% attack speed, and 2 pierce, wearing off after 25 attacks or 5 seconds. Stronger Stimulant overrides the previous buff, instead granting 15% range, 17.6% attack speed, 3 pierce, and 1 damage to all affected towers, lasting 40 shots or 12 seconds. Permanent Brew is the same as Stronger Stimulant, but will not wear off unless you sell the Alchemist granting the buff. Middle path allows 5 nearby monkeys to transform with Total Transformation (x-5-x).
