"Make it Hail" Achievement Guide

Introduction

"Make it Hail" Achievement Guide image 1

Make It Hail - Spend 1,000,000 Souls in Miðgarð

Although it may seem extremely grindy at first glance, the 'Make it Hail' achievement is doable in both game modes with the correct methods. I will also touch upon some of the basic mechanics but won't delve deeply into them, as there are already multiple guides available that explain both solo Saga and Survival modes in detail.

Saga Mode

In Saga mode, it is best to use a soul-banking method to spend souls while keeping the loss at minimum.

This method requires the Warden class, as it has access to the skill named "Haggler" which will be our main advantage. We will use Haggler to purchase Soul Potions.

Haggler:

Buy for -25% Souls, sell for +25%

Souls Potion

Grants 500 souls on use.

Fáfnir the Sorcerer normally sells the Souls Potion for 700 souls but with the bonus from the Haggler skill, the price drops to 525 souls.

Refer to the short table below for the net value.

* Buying Price Gained Souls Net Loss Normal 700 500 %29 Warden 525 500 %5

The basic idea is to buy Souls Potions using the farmed souls, use the potions, and repeat the process until soul reserves are depleted. It is most efficient when used at the end of a completed Saga, just before taking the Bifrost out. This process is typically used for soul banking and preservation, but with the Warden's skill, it can also be used to make progress towards the achievement in the Saga. However, the 2-potion limit (which can be increased to 3 with Warden's skills) can be quite limiting.

Survival Mode

In Survival mode, it's best to farm souls, and then spend them on either normal expenses or using a cycling method similar to the one used with Soul Potions.

Assuming that you're also aiming for the 100 Days Survival achievement which is a huge time sink, you will have ample excess time to work towards this achievement.

This method requires an item named Sindry's Foudry, which is only obtainable after defeating Fenrir in Survival Mode. It is the only way to sell materials for souls.

You'll also need a Construction Bench (LVL 3), and, preferably, a Lumbering Stand, both of which can be crafted via the Allforge.

Sindry's Foundry awards a fixed amount of souls based on the rarity of the consumed materials, regardless of their crafting cost.

Refer to the short table below for comparison.

Rarity Common Uncommon Rare Epic Legendary Given Souls 4 20 60 100 200

In the Construction Bench, you'll find various wooden constructions ranging from common to rare variants. Some, such as the Twig Wall Slope, only cost 1 wood, which will be used for this method.

The basic idea is to farm wood, turn it into rare variant constructions that cost 1 wood per item using the Construction Bench, and then consume the constructions using Sindry's Foundry.

Assuming that you sold 999 Twig Wall Slope for example, it will grant you 59,940 souls. With these, you can either buy wood directly or buy branches/wooden planks from Fáfnir, convert them into wood using the Lumbering Stand, and repeat the process. Alternatively, you can use the Soul Potion method to spend the souls as it was explained in previous section.

Although Haggler is not available in Survival mode, the ease of farming wood and other materials still makes Survival the preferred mode to obtain the 'Make it Hail' achievement.
