.:The First Missions Part 1- An Easy Walkthrough:.

This section tells you how to get townies to your village, get The Fishing Rod, how To Sell things To Moss and how to unlock the realtor Rosa so you can build houses.

These 4 parts will explain everything you need to know about, getting started, getting access to the computer to upload/download creations, Where to get the fishing rod, how to get access to the workshop, how to open blueprints that help you progress, how to unlock the steps blueprint, how to open the mine, how to get access to the red wood forest, how to get the blueprints for the steel pickaxe, how to get the bronze axe so you can chop down red wood trees and more. I started up a new game and tested this all myself. If at any point you have a problem, don't hesitate to leave a question below or ask me in the Hokko Life Discord. Pictures will be uploaded shortly. Arrival As you get off the train, go to the inn and talk to Oma/Moss then sit on a chair and order a drink Moss and Oma will talk to you and tell you to tell them your name. Then Oma says you can spend the night at the inn. Sleep the night, then when you come down Oma will talk to you and tell you to talk to moss.

Tree Removal For Moss You'll go outside and see a tree down, talk to moss and he will give you an Axe and ask if you can sort the tree out. Chop the tree then talk to moss. He will tell you talk to the townies. Go talk to all the townies that live in the houses then head back to moss and talk to him. He'll ask you to help him, accept his mission. He'll tell you to go talk to Sally in the workshop, head over to Sally and talk to her.

Benches For TownWhen you talk to sally she will ask what she can do for you, tell her benches please. She will tell you she has no wood and to take the axe and get her 12 logs. Cut about 2 trees down and go back to her with the logs. After you give her the logs she will give you 2 benches and tell you to deliver them to moss. Go back to moss and give him the benches. He'll tell you to place them in the town for him and to let him know when you're done. Place both benches in town and go back to talk to moss. Moss will tell you you did a good job and you should go talk to Oma in the inn.

Beach Clean UpWhen you talk to Oma she will tell you to pick up the trash on the beach. Tell her you'll do it and then head to the east and go to the beach. You should see about 20 pieces of trash, pick them all up then head to Oma at the inn. Oma will tell you you did good and you should check with Sally.

Help SallyGo back to Sally and she will ask her to help you. Say sure, then she will tell you get 15 more logs for her. Cut about 2-3 more trees down, and head back to Sally. When you talk to her she'll ask you if you want to have a go at crafting stuff and she was going to make the logs into planks, and that you should make her about 5 planks. Make her the 5 planks on the bench then talk to her again. She'll tell you that you did good and come back later she might have more work for you.

Fishing Rod BlueprintGo back to OMA at the inn and talk to her. You talk to Oma 2 times and she will say have you done much fishing, now go upstairs and sleep "until tomorrow" 2 times and it should be day 4. After you slept 2 days and it's day 4, go back to the beach and talk to Derris. He'll say it's nice to see the beach all clean again, you tell him that you cleaned it. he'll ask you about fishing, tell him you love it and he'll ask you how fishing been going for you. Tell him you got no rod, he will give you a crafting recipe for a fishing rod. Get the items needed for the rod and head to Sally's. You'll need 3 logs and 3 grass tufts.

Crafting A Fishing Rod & Shovel Blueprint Once you have the items go to Sally's workbench and craft a rod. While you're there talk to Sally. She will ask if you can give her a hand. Say Of Course. Sally will give you a blueprint to make a shovel, then tell you to talk to Moss and get some seeds. (You will need 3 planks and 1 stone to make the shovel) Since you can't gather stone yet, head over to moss, talk to him, and he will give you a stone and some seeds. Head back to Sally, on your way back to Sally's chop some trees so you can get the planks needed to make the shovel.

Planting Seeds For Moss & PlantersGo to the workbench, craft the planks, make your shovel and talk to Sally. Sally will tell you it's a nice shovel you made now go out and plant them seeds. Go outside, plant 6 tree seeds then return to Sally. Talk to Sally, tell her the trees are done. She will tell you to check with Moss to see if he has anything to do. Head over to Moss in his shop, talk to him, and he will tell you to go back to Sally's for some planters. He will give you flower seeds and tell you to plant them and come back to him when you have the flowers. (He gives you 4 red flower seeds, 4 blue, 4 purple and 4 yellow flower seeds. Plant all 16 of them. You will need to return to Moss with 4 blue 4 purple 4 blue and 4 yellow flower petals. )

Selling Items To MossAfter planting them go back to moss and he will tell you he will buy items from you and that there is a realtor looking to move to the country and she goes to the inn in the evening 17:00-21:00. The flowers will take 3 days to grow, so you can sleep 3 full days or spend the 3 days doing things like fishing, gathering, selling items... that's up to you. (Part 2)

This section will explain how to open up blueprints from Sally, how to access her workshop so you can build anything you want, how to unlock the computer at Moss shop so you can download other players creations or upload your own as well as find your Creator Code.

Getting The Planters After you have all the petals Moss asked for, head back to talk to Moss he will tell you the flowers are great and you should go see sally for the planters, head back to Sally's workshop, talk to her, and ask her for planters. She will ask you for 5 more planks. Go cut down about 3 trees, you'll need about 15 logs for your planks, once you have the planks made, talk to Sally again. She'll ask how it's going, tell her you got the wood, and she will ask you if you have flowers to put in the planters, give her the flowers, she will give you 4 buckets with flowers, and tell you to talk to Moss again.

Decorating The TownHead over to Moss with the planters, talk to him, tell him the planters are all done, and he will tell you to place the flower planters in town, head outside, place all 4 planters on the ground where you like them, then go back inside to Moss and talk to him. He will tell you that you did a great job and more people will probably come here to the town to visit. After you're done with Moss head back over to the inn and talk to OMA.

Fixing Oma's Stool|Finding RosaOma will tell you her stool is broke and you should take it to Sally and see if anything can be done with it. Take Oma's broken stool to Sally's workshop and talk to Sally. When you talk to Sally, you'll ask her to fix the stool, she will ask you if you want to have a go at fixing it, say sure, and she will unlock the design table for you so you can craft things. She will tell you to remove the broken leg, add a new leg and she will give you wood. Head to the design table, pick the stool out of your backpack and fix the stool. Replace the leg, save it, and talk to Sally again. Once she's done talking to you, take the stool back to the inn and talk to Oma. Give Oma the fixed stool. Once you give her the stool, sleep till about 17:00 and Rosa should be in the INN waiting for you to talk to them.

Rosa's Shop|Unlocking The Computer Catalog In Moss' Shop Talk to Rosa, Rosa will tell you they were thinking about expanding the town, and you might like your own house. They ask to set up a shop in town, agree and they will start to make a shop next to Moss' store tomorrow. Sleep or work for 4 days and when you go outside, Rosas' shop should now be up and you can buy houses for new residents, buy one for yourself, or buy roofs/exterior walls to pretty up old/new houses. Once Rosa has a shop in town, go to any house in your town, click the sign outside of the house, evict that person, click the sign again, and move yourself in. (Don't worry this will not hurt your progress in the game at all. It will unlock the computer at Moss' shop so you can download creations and upload your own) You will need a bed and a light to move in, you can take the bed from the Inn and use it to move in, then pick it back up and put it back in the inn once you're moved in the house.

Moving In A House|Unlocking Sallys Workshop So You Can Build Once you place the bed, go back outside and click the sign and move yourself in the house. Head over and talk to Moss once you moved in the house, you should see a computer on his desk you can use and he will tell you Sally put the computer there and you can use it.(if it's not there, sleep until tomorrow) Talk to him again and he will tell you to talk to Sally. Head to Sally's workshop, talk to Sally, and she will give you blueprints and access to her workshop so you can build items. She will tell you things you can build. After you talk to her, click the design table and you will have a small blueprint you can build things on.

Unlocking Blueprints From SallyOnce you exit the table talk to Sally again, and you will see tons of blueprints. You will need to buy them but she will give you some free. Designer Blueprints, Crafting Recipes, Designer pieces and brushes. Some of them will have checks near them, those are the ones you own, the others with no check you will need to buy from her and ones with stars next to them mean they are new. Once you're done you can start to grind materials for cash so you can buy tools, items, and you can get materials so you can add more houses to your town, and get more residents to move in.

Waiting For Sherf Or Hector, And Fiore|Backpack upgrade CostAt this point you will want to start grinding for cash so you can start buying tools, buying backpack upgrades, placing houses, and buying items. We're going to place houses so more residents will want to move in because we will need more people in our town to open the mines. So start building houses, and going to the inn every day in the afternoon(12:00) and at night (18:00) to see if anyone else wants to move in. Who we are looking to move in for our next progression step is HECTOR or SHERF. Once you get either of those 2 to move in, you're golden and we can continue. Fiore and Kiko are also good to move in because you will need them to unlock the last crafting bench in Sally's workshop... The shirt maker. The shirt maker will give you the ability to make shirts, tiles for inside houses, and wallpaper you can use to spruce up the inside of houses. You'll need about 2600 Coins to get all the tools and the backpack upgrades. So start grinding for coins, and build some houses so more people will come move in.

.:The First Missions Part 3 - An Easy Walkthrough:.

This section will tell you how to make fast cash, how you unlock the bomb, how to unlock the steel pickaxe, how to unlock the bronze axe, and how to unlock the red wood forest for red wood logs as well as all the blueprints mentioned above.

Making Cash Fast While You Wait One of the fast and easy ways to make coins is to evict people from the houses, collect their items (just leave a bed and light in the house so you can move someone else in) then move someone in, (Pip has the best items to sell, his television is worth around 350 coins) take that new persons items, kick them out, and keep doing this till you have the coins you need. Don't worry, this won't hurt any progress in your game and the people you evict will still be on the list waiting for a house. You can also catch fish, and butterflies for coins, I would say collect butterflies because it's way faster and easier but this is up to you how to go about getting coins.

Building Houses For TowniesOnce you're grinding for coins you want to be always doing quests for townies and make sure you buy the stone slab blueprint from Sally, you will need this to build the cheap 400 Coin houses to move people in. If you want better houses just make sure you buy the material blueprints you need to make the houses. For saving money purposes I'm going to buy the stone slab houses for 400 Coins. You can find rocks for slabs on the beach. The beach has 4 or so white square shaped rocks you can mine for rock and chalk. The stones will re-spawn on the beach everyday, so sleep and go back to the beach and you can mine the rocks over and over again, everyday. The rocks in your village with coal WILL NOT RE-SPAWN, so use the beach to gather all your stone. Carry a futon or bed and you can just sleep at the beach, mine the rocks, sleep and repeat.

Quests For TowniesDoing quests for villagers will help you progress for when Hector Or Sherf move in your town, net you some cool clothes and get you some coins upon completion. So what I would do is start to make a bridge and steps so you can access the other side of the river (if you have one on your map) and place houses down. Make sure you place them where you want them, because atm you can't remove them, move them, destroy them or upgrade them YET.

Checking For New Townies & Blueprint For StepsMake sure everyday you're going to the inn around the afternoon (12:00) and evening (18:00) to see if new people are looking to move into your town. After doing about 3 or so missions for the townies, Benny told me to speak to Sally for the Stairs Blueprint. Not sure if ONLY Benny can unlock this BP, but after 3 missions, I got the stairs Blueprint from Sally.

Unlocking The Bomb Blueprint (This works with Sherf Or Hector)Keep making houses for people to move in, be sure to at least go up to the mine entrance to check the boulder (not sure you have to but it's worth a shot anyway) and Sherf should come to town around the 30th of Spring during the afternoon (12:00). Talk to him, make sure you have a house for him and move him in. Give him a couple of days to unpack, then talk to him and he should tell you about a haunted mine. (Some people say Hector gives you the bomb blueprint so if you don't have Sherf and you have Hector, follow the same steps I just laid out for you and just do them with Hector) About the 5th day of summer I talked to him and he had a quest for me to decorate his house. I decorated his house, completed the quest, and after he thanked me, told me to go see Sally because she had something for me. When I talked to Sally, she had the bomb blueprint for me and I bought it.

Mine Access|Red Wood Forest AccessNow that you have access to the bomb, you'll need to make 2 of them. One is going to open the boulder blocking the mine, the other is going to be for the boulder blocking the East path to the Red Wood Forest. We will start with the mine boulder first. To make one bomb you will need 10 Yellow Petals - 5 Clay - and 10 Sand. Once you have the bomb go to the mine entrance put the bomb in your hand, you should see a white mark on the floor, make sure it's on the boulder, place the bomb and the mine will now be accessible.

Unlocking The Mining Lantern|Steel Pickaxe BlueprintNow that the mine is open, walk inside, (You could start mining if you want, but you you don't have to) once you walked around the the mine some, head back to Sally, talk to her and she will now have a new Steel Pickaxe for you, and mining lanterns. You will need the mining lanterns because it's dark in there. You'll need 3 Coal, 2 Stone and 2 wooden logs to make 1 lantern. You will also need 6 steel and 3 Red Wood planks to make the Steel pickaxe. Here's where the second bomb comes in.

Unlocking The Red Wood Forest|Bronze Axe Take the 2nd bomb you made and go down the path from the mine, head east and you should see another boulder. Same as you did with the mine boulder, use the bomb on it, and you should now have access to the Red Wood Forest. Now that the boulder is gone, do the same as you did in the mine. Walk to the back of the forest, turn around, go back to Sally, talk to her and she will now have a bronze axe for you so you can chop down red wood trees. To make the axe you will need 6 Bronze Bars, 3 Wooden Planks and 2 Fabric. Once you made the axe you can now go back and get red wood logs, so you can make them into planks for your Steel Pickaxe. (A little tip when cutting down red wood trees: Don't dig the stumps up, the trees will grow back, and you will get more seeds because you don't need to replant the trees so by not digging up the stumps, you use 1 less seed replanting the tree)

.:The First Missions Part 4 - An Easy Walkthrough:.

This section will explain how to get the silver pickaxe, who you need in your town to get the silver pickaxe blueprint, how to get fishing bait, and who and what requirements need to be met to get the fishing bait blueprints. The Silver Pickaxe|Fishing Bait After you've gotten the new steel pickaxe, the bronze ax, access to the mine, and access to the red wood forest, you're going to now want to get the silver pickaxe and fishing bait. Both of these will need specific townies to move to your town. The Silver Pickaxe|Getting KikoTo get the silver pickaxe you will need KIKO to move into your town, once they've moved in you're going to need to do some quests for them. Assuming you been doing quests for the townie, it should be simple to get the blueprint for the silver pickaxe. To get KIKO to come to your town you will need to do 20 quests for the townies, you must have 10 houses in your town, decorate a bunch (outdoors) and reach day 29 in game. After you've done this, check the inn and Kiko should eventually be there. Once you have Kiko moved in fully, do quests for them, and they should tell you to see Sally and you should now have the silver pickaxe. Getting The Fish Guts Bait BlueprintTo get the fish guts bait, you will need Zea in your town, and you will need to do quests for them, and eventually they will tell you to go talk to Sally and Sally will have a bucket of fish guts bait that you can buy, then craft with 2 tadpoles per bait. The bait will up your chances catching fish but remember, if you cast the rod and don't pull a fish in you will use up one bait, so make tons of bait or cast your line wisely. Getting TImothy|More Fishing BaitTimothy is another townie you will need to move into your town and they will give you another bait recipe. To get Timothy to show up at the inn you will need to complete 5 mini fishing quests for Derris and I think you will need Zea in your town as well. The mini fishing quest Derris gives you where you need to catch 5 of any fish in 5 minutes. Usually you can get these mini challenges on the 15th of every season before the fishing competition.

.:Quests Made Easy:.

When doing the townie quests a bunch of them will ask you for the same items. If someone asks you for a stone table, you can make a table out of wood and they will accept it as of right now. If another townie asks you for a table/chair you can just get the table/chair you added to the last townies' house, pick it up and give it to the next townie asking for it. This will save you materials in the beginning, and get you quest rewards fast.

If a townie asks you for a stone/metal table/chair, you can just give them the wood ones you have left over. If they tell you it's not what they wanted, just add more wood pieces to it and hand it to them again and they will accept it and give you the quest reward.

How Do I Unlock A Fishing Rod

To get a fishing rod you will need to do a quest for Oma when you get in town. They will ask you to clean up the beach. As soon as it's done, go back to the inn, talk with Oma again then go to sleep. Once you wake up, head back to the beach and Derris should be there with your new fishing rod and some tips. To unlock Derris mini fishing quest you will need to catch 10 fish then talk to him. He will then tell you to catch 5 fish (ANY FISH TYPE) in 5 minutes. Derris also holds a competition every 15th of every season that reward you with trophies.

Here's a list of a few helpful things to know while fishing on a controller. The A button is to cast your rod into the water. When you get a bite hit A to hook and reel the fish in. You can keep reeling till you see the mini game bar turn red with exclamation marks. If you see exclamation marks pop up let go of A for a little or your line will snap. When the mini game tells you to pull LEFT or RIGHT let go of A and pull left or right (If you pull left or right and reel, the line will snap and you will lose your fish). Pulling left or right will automatically reel in your line for you, as soon as you don't see pull left or right, hold A again to start reeling the line in until you've caught the fish.

Another tip while fishing. If you reel the line and as soon as the mini game bar turns yellow or red, and immediately it tells you to pull left or right, that means that's a harder fish to catch or a more rare fish. This could save you time during the competition. If you reel all the way to red and the mini game don't prompt you to pull left or right, that means it's a common fish and you can recast your line again.

How To Get BaitZea/Timothy will give you bait recipes after you do a few quests for them. You'll have to buy the recipe from Sally and craft a bucket of bait To get Timothy you will need to do 5 fishing quests for Derris every 15th of every month.(NOT The competition, the little quest he gives you before each competition where he asks you to catch him 5 fish in a 5 minute time limit).

How To Add BaitHow to add bait? If you have bait in your bag, make sure your fishing rod is in your hand then click the bait and it will ask you to add bait to your fishing rod. Remember, if you cast the rod and pull it back before you've hooked a fish, you will lose your bait.

The 3 Bodies Of WaterThere are 3 bodies of water you can fish in. The river, the ocean and the pond. The river is located north from the inn where the villagers live. The ocean is located to the East/right from where the villagers live. The pond is north/up through the wood archway, on the west /left side of the waterfall. Each fish has a specific criteria to be caught. Some need a specific time of day, some need specific weather, and some need a specific season. The list below will show you where and when to catch the fish you're looking for.
