From Pain To Prosperity - Proper Villager Feeding

Villager Feeding:

Dealing with portals can be effectively done through Villager feeding. This approach is nothing more than sending a single Villager through the portal, however, it's crucial to note that the Villager will not return as the villager will die to the fight in the Dark Forest which makes the Portal disappear. Thus, it's best to unequip any items to prevent losses - to ensure a steady supply of Villagers, constructing a House is highly recommended. This will provide a consistent source of food for the Portal.

(Optional) Moving The Portal: Easy Relocation

If you need to move the portal... first, pause the game and place another card over the opposite edge of where you want the portal to go. When you release the card, the portal will move... additionally, always open any packs containing monsters away from your build on an empty space. This way, you can have a force ready to fight them and prevent any damage to your structure."

Mastering Grid-Based Building

Flashing the Grid

The "E" key is the only way to shortly flash the grid on your screen, and it will automatically align all cards that you can grab. You cannot align a Portal or anything similar like Monsters with it and you should eliminate any portal or monster when it interferces in your build before aligning your build back to the grid or you might create conflicts.

Grid-Based Building

Grid-Based Building does not mean always building on the grid, but rather using the grid as a helpful tool for aligning cards. While the grid can automatically align cards to some extent, it may require human intervention to handle conflicts that arise when two cards try to occupy the same space. These conflicts are not always bad and may not necessarily create movement that leads to chaos in the build. However, they need to be handled if they persist or if they start to swing themselves or other structures.

Magic Glue And Walling

Magic glue can improve the stability of your build in grid-based building in three key ways. Its primary purpose is to minimize chaos and its spread, as well as reduce the amount of time required to restore the build to a functional and organized state. The restoration process should be as simple as pressing "E" or performing minimal work. You don't want a crane or dustbin wreaking havoc on your entire board, potentially affecting multiple structures and deleting valuable items.

- Single Structure Fixing

Fixing individual structures, such as a Lumber Camp or Chest, can be highly effective. In most cases, there is no need to take any further action beyond removing the conflict, such as a portal, and realigning the card to the grid to ensure build stability.

- Stacked Walls

Stacked Walls consist of stacks of cards on a single Magic Glue, making them perfect for building vertical walls. However, they cannot be used to protect horizontal structures.

- Single-Card Walls

Single-Card Walls utilize multiple Magic Glue cards, each holding only a single card. These walls can be used to fully surround structures both vertically and horizontally, providing enhanced protection.

By combining different grid-based building techniques, such as individual fixing, stacked walls, and single-card walls, you can improve the stability of your build while also saving resources and creating a flexible production chain. These techniques can help you manage the challenges of dealing with portals and other potential sources of chaos, ensuring that your structure remains functional and organized.
