The Purebred Challenge

The Purebred Challenge

The Idea

I've played the first Slime Rancher, and this idea came to me when I played that game as well. What if you couldn't merge the slimes together?

With some more though put into it while playing the second game, its fully possible to have all slimes and food types for each one in the Conservatory at once.

And while testing my idea, i've come up with a difficulty scale to make it more challenging.

The Guideline

The Purebred Challenge image 5

There are just enough plots on the Conservatory to have all slimes (separated) and their foods.

The goal is to play the game without making Largos.

As stated, I've made a difficulty scale for more of a challenge.

When you go up a difficulty, you add the rules from the previous difficulties. So if you were to play on Hard, you'd also have the rules along with Easy and Medium. Wiggle Wrangler being the hardest due to all difficulties being in one, and more.

Rule Explanation:

- No Largos Allowed: You cannot combine two slimes together.

- Collect at least 4 of every type of slime: Collecting every type of slime that you can collect from the Slimepedia, and keeping at least 4 of each slime type in the game.

- Feed slimes their favorite foods only: Slime's favorite foods can be seen in the Slimepedia. You can only give them the foods listed; unless its a Pink or Ringtail slime, its fine to feed those slime any type of food.

- Cannot sell plorts from outside of Conservatory: You cannot collect plorts from outside of the Conservatory, and sell them.

- Cannot feed foods from outside of Conservatory: You cannot bring foods from outside of the Conservatory to feed your slimes.

- Can ONLY collect 4 of each type of slime: A rule override of the first rule in the Medium difficulty. Changing the behavior of that rule so that you cannot have more or less than 4 (four) types of slimes.

- You need to sleep every night: Sleep like a normal person, basically. You have to sleep before the sun comes back up from night time.

- Cannot refine farmed plorts: You cannot put the plorts from your slimes into the Refinery. You have to go out and gather the plorts needed to get anything from the Fabricator.

- You HAVE to feed every slime: When your slime go hungry, you have to feed them. You cannot ignore them throughout the entire challenge.

- Cannot use Map Nodes to reveal map: The Map Nodes found around the world cannot be interacted with throughout the challenge.

- Can only give Gordos foods from your farms: You have to take the foods from your Conservatory to any of the Gordos in the world. You cannot feed them foods from outside.

- Cannot upgrade your Health: Cannot get any tier of the "Heart Module" upgrade from the Fabricator.

If you don't want to follow this to a T, that's fine.

The More To Know

- There are a total of 17 farmable slimes

- There are 5 slimes that have no favorites

* Pink, Ringtail, Puddle, Fire, and Yolky Slimes

- Flutter slimes require Nectar, which cannot be farmed

- Hunter slimes require Roostros, meaning one less plot

* Meaning, there will be 11 plots taken up for farming

food

- Pink and Ringtale slimes do not have favorite foods,

meaning they can eat anything from any of the farms.

- In the unlockable Tidepool area, there are small ponds

that can be utilized by the Puddle slimes, meaning they

wont need a plot. While Fire slimes will still need their

own plot. Both will not need food, but Fire slimes will

need resources burned to produce plorts.

- Yolky Slimes don't eat, and only produce plorts if

they're in a coop with chickens.

17 Types of Slimes, with 11 types of farmable foods,

bringing up to a total of 28 plots to be used. Exactly the

number of plots in the Conservatory.
