New Game Plus Easter Egg

The New Game Plus Easter Egg

After completeing the main story missions in game you may want to replay the story missions over from the begining. I found this tip on Gamefaqs to help me where so many tip websites had NO information on it.

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for anything! if I had my choice I would choose to take the least amount of responsability for anything at any given time as much as possible. You've been warned, I didn't do it.

1: Load your completed game.

2: Go to Social Hub>Mission Select and choose the second mission known as "Night Market Chase"

3: Go through the mission as normal until You are to meet with Kwan and instead go the opposite direction to fail the mission.

4. The fail mission state will pop up when you get far enough away, select retry.

5: The fail state will cause the game to black screen and save once but then hang.

6: Manually close Sleeping Dogs and Re-Open the game.

7: Load the newest save and you should be kicked back into the normal story progress near the Night Market Chase with the following from your previous games: Cameras hacked(you still need to defeat the gangsters near the cameras though), Upgrades bought, outfits, health shrines, cars, apartment upgrades, discovered statues, and found lockboxes. Obviously all missions have been reset excluding the dojo based on how many statues you recovered in the previous game.

Q: I followed you up to step 7 but I can't find the new mission "Night Market Chase" in my saves?

A: It will be called "Big Smile Lee"(the last mission) but will be idetifiable by having the newest save progress.

Q: I can't repeat the dojo statue missions?

A: Nope. Once you've collected statues they carry over into NG+.

Q: Do I need to complete all side missions?

A: No, as far as I can tell you just need to complete the Big Smile Lee final mission.

Q: Bug or Easter Egg?

A: Maybe a little bit of both? It looks like something so rough that it was a left over from testing but since it was known to exist in SD and never removed for SD:DE it's an intended feature at this point and thus an Easter Egg.

Q: I did something wrong and it doesn't work!

A: Ask on the forums.

Q: You missed this feature

A: That's very possible I haven't done extensive testing.

Credit should go to MastaPiff on Gamefaqs for discovering it but his instructions were a blob of text, hard to follow, and burried in the GF forum so they needed testing and reiteration.
