The first set of Tour Challenges in Mario Kart Tour came into the game with the first ever tour, the New York Tour, and for the most part, they're pretty straightforward.
There are challenges that require you to take out enemy racers with green shells or red shells, and challenges that ask you to boost during a race, but one challenge might stump you: take out 3 pipes.
How To Take Out 3 Pipes
To complete this challenge found in Tour Challenges 1, you need to first understand what it's asking you to do (because the game doesn't explain it beyond "take out 3 pipes").
On some tracks in Mario Kart Tour, there are small green pipes coming out of the ground. These pipes can be taken out in special ways and removed from the course for the duration of the race. You need to take out 3 of these pipes.
You can do this in a number of ways using items like Bowser's Shell, but we have a method that will help you get this challenge done quick: head to the Mario Circuit 1 course.
This course has at least five pipes that you can hit. However, to hit them, you're going to need more firepower than just a green shell or red shell. You need the Mega Mushroom.
The Mega Mushroom is an item that increases your racer's size drastically and no matter which character you select to complete this challenge with, when your racer's size is increased with the Mega Mushroom, you'll be able to take out a green pipe by simply driving over it.
So that's what you need to do: use a Mega Mushroom on Mario Circuit 1 and drive over three green pipes. Fortunately, you don't need take out all three pipes in one race so take your time. To make getting the Mega Mushroom easier, allow yourself to fall back into eighth place as soon as you can once the race begins.
When you finally complete this challenge, you'll receive the Mario Motors badge.
