Introduction + Tips

100% Achievement Guide (by THN) image 1

Note: There have been look-a-like copycat guides popping up. If it's not labeled by THN (The Horror Network), it's NOT one of mine and therefore not up to the quality that I aim to provide.

Welcome to the Killer is Dead Achievement + Tips Guide.

I highly suggest you begin your first playthrough on Normal Mode, rather than Easy Mode, as you will accumulate more money (needed for Gift Shop purchases) and Gems that you need to Upgrade your Health, Blood and Skills. However, if the game is proving too difficult for you on Normal Mode, then you can easily drop your difficulty down to Easy Mode at any time; though keep in mind that you will have to redo all of your missions again on this new difficulty level.

Once you're finised with your Normal/Easy Mode playthrough, you will unlock the following: Nightmare Mode, Ulti-Mondo, Casual Mondo, Legendary Executioner and Dark Booster. The latter three items are costumes that need to be purchased from the Gift Shop with money. The first item you will want to get is the Dark Booster, which is a costume for Mondo's bionic arm.

MONEY GRINDING

The easiest method (that I've found thus far) of accumulating money quickly is to set the game to Nightmare Mode and replay Episode 1. The Episode is 35-38 seconds long and will reward you with anywhere from $720,000-$729,000 money per playthrough on Nightmare Mode. REMEMBER TO UNEQUIP THE DARK BOOSTER AND ULTI-MONDO COSTUMES WHEN MONEY GRINDING.

After your Normal/Easy Mode playthrough, I recommend grinding out the $15,000,000 needed for Dark Booster; this item gives Mondo unlimited Blood. With the method listed above it should take you roughly 10-15 minutes to acquire the money needed for this item. You will then equip this costume from the Costume selection. Please note that this costume drastically reduces your money gain for each episode played while it is equipped. Now, set your game to Easy Mode and breeze through the 12 Episodes to obtain AAA ranks easily on each by using the RT+X attack and avoiding as much damage as you can by dodging.

NOTE*** Getting an AAA ranking in Episode 1 and 2 can be tricky. Follow these tips. Thanks to Shadow95.

Episode 1 - Go as fast as possible left at the beginning of the level. After Tokio finished his salve, you go to the next container (and so on). If you don't get hit, you'll get more than $1,000,000 and the AAA ranking.

Episode 2 - You have to use Guard Break 30 times and try to get "cool kills". My tip: play Episode 2 on Nightmare Mode (you have more time than on easy plus the execution, actually just button mashing, gives more points/money).

After you clear all 12 main Episodes on AAA ranking, except for those specified above, you will want to continue the money grinding method to reach $10,000,000. At this time you will want to purchase and equip the Ulti-Mondo costume. This attire also drastically reduces your money gain from each mission, however it gives Mondo double the attack power. With the Ulti-Mondo and Dark Booster costumes equipped simultaniously, you should be able to breeze through Very Hard Mode difficulty.

Killer at the Gate of Dawn

Cleared all episodes on Normal Mode.

See below.

Obscured by the Moonlight

Cleared all episodes on Hard Mode.

See below.

Darksider of the Moon

Cleared all episodes on Very Hard Mode.

Ideally, you will want to initiate your first playthrough on Normal Mode to obtain Killer at the Gate of Dawn. Upon this completed playthrough you should have levelled up your Blood and Health to around 40-50, and obtained roughly half of your Skill Upgrades, both of which will come in handy for your Very Hard Mode playthrough. As well, you will want to have the Ulti-Mondo and Dark Booster costumes unlocked and equipped by using the money grinding method listed in the Introduction + Tips section. I also highly recommend going ahead and rushing through a playthrough on Easy Mode after your Normal Mode playthrough, not only to obtain the AAA ranked episodes, but this will also help you grind out more Moon Crystals and Health Gems to max out your Skill and Health Upgrades.

The Beauties are side missions in Killer is Dead. The first time you're able to woo them, they will give you one of your remaining three sub-weapons. You can win the girls over by giving them gifts, and you can unlock more gifts by completing Episodes and Missions with AAA rankings. You will want to visit each girl at least three times to obtain the below achievements, and further visits will help out with Gift Collector and Happiest Man on Earth.

Note*** You can see what gifts each Beauty will enjoy by equipping Scarlett's Glasses during the Mission. These special specs also allow you to view their lingere.

Passionate Girl

Made Natalia your prisoner in body and soul.

Visit Natalia when she is initially available as she will give you the Drill upgrade. Upon your second or third visit to her, she will also give you the Plasma Cannon. Visit her three times, win her over with gifts, then she and the achievement will be yours.

Geisha Girl

Made Koharu your prisoner in body and soul.

Visit Koharu when she is initially available and she will give you the Freeze Gun upgrade. After three winning visits, she and the achievement will be yours. It is said that Koharu is the easiest woman to win over, as she requires the least expensive gifts, which will be helpful for later achievements.

Lucky GIrl

Made Scarlett your prisoner in body and soul.

Scarlett is the toughtest Beauty to win over, but she doesn't require gifts. First off, you must unlock all 20 of her Challenges by locating her throughout the Episodes. Once you've unlocked all of her Challenges, you must then beat them. I highly suggest waiting until you have both the Dark Booster and Ulti-Mondo costumes equipped as it will make the Challenges much more smooth. For extra comfort, play them on Easy Mode. After you've unlocked and beaten all 20 Challenges, Scarlett will not be able to contain herself anymore, she and the achievement will become yours.

Happiest Man on Earth

Received 20 rewards from the beauties.

Once you've cleared the game you should be able to go back and visit each Beauty. They will also call you during your Episodes to let you know they're ready and waiting for you. Once you visit them, give them gifts and win them over again, be sure to press the A button to accept the gift or it does not count.

Gift Collector

Gave a Present 50 times or more.

For this achievement you will need to give 50 gifts in total, it doesn't matter which ones. Be sure to use the money grinding method mentioned in the Introduction + Tips section if you run low on funds. Note that Koharu requires the least expensive gifts, though you will most likely have to cycle through her, Natalia and Betty.

Mondo's Girls Collection

Collected all female costumes.

Costumes can be unlocked by completing Episodes and Sub-Missions with an AAA ranking. I'm unsure whether the lingere that is unlocked for the Beauties counts towards this achievement, I don't think that they do. Once the costumes are unlocked there will be a lot of money grinding involved to be able to purchase them all. Good luck.

Office's Affairs

Cleared 3 sub-missions.

See below.

Office Workers

Cleared 6 sub-missions.

See below.

Assassins Never Say Die

Cleared all sub-missions.

Simply clear all 12 Sub-Missions within the game. Set to Easy Mode with Dark Booster and Ulti-Mondo costumes equipped and it should be a breeze.

The Criminal is Dead

Ranked AAA executioner on 12 missions.

See below. If you were able to obtain an AAA rank on each main Episode, this achievement should already be yours.

The Maniac is Dead

Ranked AAA executioner on 24 missions.

See below.

The Mass Murderer is Dead

Ranked AAA executioner on 44 missions.

For this achievement you must obtan an AAA ranking on all main Episodes, Sub-Missions and Scarlett Challenges. My best advice would be to ensure you have the Dark Booster and Ulti-Mondo costumes and the game's difficulty is set to Easy Mode. You will most likely only get stuck on a few Sub-Missions and Challenges. Refer to any number of YouTube videos and forum threads for the specific issues you are having. Most notably the Bike Sub-Mission is the most notorious for giving gamers an issue when it comes to AAA ranking. Note*** Some players have reported that the achievement has not popped unless they've gained all rankings on one difficulty, others have reported that they've received the achievement despite having the rankings scattered across multiple difficulties.

Sexy Man Whose Blood is Dripping

Increased Blood to maximum upgrade level.

The maximum Blood level is 99. You will need to collect the red roses that enemies drop in order to upgrade it. This will come in time, most likely during a third playthrough. Alternatively, for $1,000,000 for a set of 100, you will be able to purchase your upgrades if you get tired of grinding.

Ultimate Physical Beauty

Increased Health to maximum upgrade level.

The maximum Health level is 99. You will need to collect the greenish blue gems that enemies drop in order to upgrade it. This will come in time, though slower than Blood, and will most likely be in the very later half of your third playthrough. Alternatively, for $1,000,000 for a set of 100, you will be able to purchase your upgrades if you get tired of grinding.

Right-Hand Man

Increased all Attack and Special skills.

You will need to gather the yellow Moon Crystals in order to purchase Upgrades for Mondo. Simply purchase all Attack and Specail skill Upgrades and this achievement is yours.

Left-Hand Man

Increased all sub-weapons to maximum upgrade level.

You will need to gather the yellow Moon Crystals in order to purchase Upgrades for Mondo. This achievement will take longer and be more tedious than it's right-hand counterpart, however. With enough grinding you should be able to obtain this early on in your third playthrough. Alternatively, for $1,000,000 for a set of 100, you will be able to purchase your upgrades if you get tired of grinding.

Passport to Infinity

Changed costume to Ulti-Mondo.

With the money grinding method mentioned in the Introduction and Tips section, you should've had this costume a while back. It is unlocked after your initial playthrough and can be purchased for $10,000,000 from the Gift Shop.

Cash Enough for Love

Have a total of $100 million in cash.

You will need to have $100,000,000 in your pocket at once. Use the money grinding method listed in the Introduction and Tips section. If anyone knows a better way to grind money, please inform me and I will update the guide. Otherwise this one will take a long, long time. So throw on a movie and watch as you play.

Feeling So High

Sliced an enemy upward and finished it in the air.

You will need to unlock the Skill with Moon Crystals to be able to perform this move. Once unlocked, simply press down, up then X by an enemy and the achievement is yours.

Suck Like a Leech

Killed an enemy using the "Burst Rush."

Just as the description indicates. Kill a single enemy using the Burst Rush technique and the achievement is yours.

Have You Got Clean Hands?

Killed an enemy with an enemy attack.

This should unlock over time without much effort. If you are having problems, it is best done with those floating eyeballs that shoot purple laser beams. Try to position a mostly dead enemy in front of you as the eyeball is shaking and about to cast, then dodge at the last moment.

Brilliant Shoulder Throw

Used "Just Guard" 100 times.

Just as the description indicates. I actually obtained this achievement on Nightmare Mode while facing the boss on Episode 3. I believe it glitched out, but you can give it a shot and see if it works for you, otherwise just get it legitimately.

Float Like a Gladfly

Used "Dodge Burst" 100 times.

Just as the description indicates. This is when you dodge at the last second and are prompted to mash the X button. I actually obtained this achievement on Nightmare Mode while facing the boss on Episode 3. I believe it glitched out, but you can give it a shot and see if it works for you, otherwise just get it legitimately.

Bryan-Approved Sniper

Killed 100 enemies using head-shots.

Whether in turrets or by using your sub-weapon machine gun, aim for the head. Upgrading the Skill "Mondo Vision" early on will help immensely with this achievement, as it causes you to automatically zoom-in on your target as well as they appear to slow down. There is no in-game counter for this achievement, sadly, but it will eventually unlock. There are various Sub-Missions and Episodes that are good for grinding this achievement out, namely the Weight Limit one.

Perfect Killer

Obtain all achievements.

That's right. Follow this guide and attempt to gain all of the achievements, then this illusive one will be yours.

Wrap Up

Good luck in your achievement hunting!
