Jurassic Challenge Beginner's Guide

Step 1. Layout

First off, make sure that you have one long path leading from your arrival point. Along this path you will later place 6 guest buildings and viewing vents.

The path should break off near the arrival point into another straight path, along which we will place all the operations facilities.

Step 2. The First Enclosure & Dinosaurs

Build yourself an enclose along the long path, just large enough to be covered 100% by a viewing vent. Place a hatchery at the very end of the path. Also build a backup generator to power all facilities.

Immediately incubate the Amargasaurus once everything is constructed. It is absolutely necessary that this will be your first dinosaur. (It will become clear why this is in the next step.)

Should your scientists lack the skills to synthesize and incubate the Amargasaurus, restart the challenge.

Should only one egg of the batch survive, restart the challenge. You need two Amargasaurs to survive for your park rating.

Step 3. You're Fired!

It's great to have many scientists because you can finish your tasks more quickly, right?

Wrong! - because you can't order tasks to be done when your scientists are consuming all your funds.

Once the Amargasaurs are out, instantly fire one of your scientists to save you money.

(Tip for later down the line: Rather than hiring more scientists, invest in the upgrades for your current ones. It will save you a lot of money.)

Step 4. Research

Build yourself a science center and research the viewing vent and the basic guest amenities. Once the research is completed, power down the science center.

Step 5. Every Building And Dinosaur You Need.

You will need to release the following:

4 * Struthiomimus

2 * Nasutoceratops

Without them you will not have enough guests streaming into your park to be profitable.

Once released, power down the hatchery.

Afterwards, build yourself a viewing vent at the top of the long path, but with enough space between it and the hatchery for a viewing vent to fit in between.

Build 3 amenities (one of each kind), 1 hotel, 1 bathroom and one shelter along the long path to get 100% coverage.

Make sure to customize amenities to suit your guests. (Usually you should focus 100% on nature lovers.)

After building all of these and releasing your dinosaurs, the park should be profitable.

Step 6. Power

The very next thing you should do is power up that science center and research the power station and build before your backup generator runs out of power. If you lack the money to build the power station, deconstruct the hatchery for now.

Once built, power down or delete the backup generator.

Step 7. Profit!

Once you have completed all of the steps above you should have yourself a profitable park.

From here on out you can complete the challenge at your own pace.

Remember that you need to employ as few scientists as possible. They will consume a lot of money.

Also definitely research the expedition upgrades, to apply increased yield and extraction capacity.

Research your monorail and create your guest 'pockets', surrounded by exhibits and amenities, hotels, bathrooms and shelters to get a 100% transport rating and amenity coverage across your park.

I hope that this guide could be helpful to those who are struggling with the challenge.

Enjoy the game!
