Step 4: Profit
No but really, the 57mm is the only weapon you need in the entire game, here's why:
It will intercept any larger round
37mm will intercept it, which means those wont reach you
It is extremely effective at destroying large armored targets and small mobile targets through volume of fire
It is dumb cheap
More reliable than r9 and 37mm at intercepting AAMs, Cruise missiles, and nukes.
Especially useful for stopping nukes far out: high RoF, good spread balance between accuracy and coverage, good damage means splash damage from nukes is significantly reduced, and good magazine size means you can prefire potential ballistic trajectories before the missile shows up on your screen
Delete annoying missile and aircraft spam, then delete the strike groups that they come from
Accidental friendly fire isn't really gonna do much
So build a rectangle, put at least 8, but more like 20 57mms in a square pattern, cover the rectangle completely in armor, and beat literally every fleet in the game with one ship that costs 30k.
Or if you want to roleplay, go to your save files and just edit your bonus for however much cash you want to build you perfect fleet from.
