Solutions Sent By Square Enix Support
Downloading this game has been a hassle and a half, i've contacted the Square Enix support team and have tried all of their fixes.
Below i'll list the solutions I was sent from the support team from easiest to last resort methods of getting around the [30413] error code;
1) Connect your computer via a wired cable and if your computer has built in wifi please ensure it is disabled.
2) Reboot your computer and network equipment
- Unplug your router for 10 minutes
- Power off your computer
- Plug the power back in
- Power your computer back on
3) Renew your IP address and DNS:
- Please press windows key + r
- Type cmd.exe then hit return
- Type ipconfig /release then hit return
- Type ipconfig /flushdns then hit return
- Type ipconfig /renew then hit return
4) Change your computer's DNS settings
- Go to the Control Panel
- Click Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings
- Rightclick on the connection you are using and select Properties
- Under the Networking tab you will see a long list of available options
- Scroll down and doubleclick on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
- Select 'Use the following DNS server addresses'
Preferred DNS server > 8 . 8 . 8 . 8
Alternate DNS server > 8 . 8 . 4 . 4
If you are closer to the US than Europe, you may wish to try the following Level 3 DNS server addresses instead:
- Preferred DNS server > 4 . 2 . 2 . 2
- Alternate DNS server > 4 . 2 . 2 . 4
5) Add the game to the exception rules in your firewall and security software, so that the game is not being blocked by this software. If you are unsure about how to do this, you can alternatively disable this software temporarily.
If you are using a VPN or proxy service, please stop doing so and deactivate it.
6) Make sure you have forwarded the ports required for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Online
- Go to https://portforward.com/ports.htm
- Select Final Fantasy XIV from the list
- Select the make of your router
- Select the model
- Close the advertisement
- You will then be provided with instructions on how to forward ports for XIV
Please open these ports:
UDP: 55296-55551
TCP: 80, 8080, 443, 54680-54681, 54906-54907, 54992-55007, 55021-55040, 55296-55551
What Worked For Me
I am Australian and most of the solutions sent to me via Enix Support didn't work.
The solution that finally worked was changing my DNS to;
- Preferred DNS server > 4 . 2 . 2 . 2
- Alternate DNS server > 4 . 2 . 2 . 4
After that I made it 21GB into the download only to encounter the same issue, so I turned off my Windows Firewall and re-launched to start the download again, luckily this time it saved the progress my download made and continued on just fine.
Hopefully this guide helped someone experiencing the same issue as me.
