DLC [spoilers] Final Boss: simple tips

Main Phase 1

If you are struggling so much on a boss you came to the forums for a guide, I hope to enlighten you to one of From-softs biggest secret.

BEHOLD The Light Roll (before you click away hear me out.)

Light rolling has a huge advantage over the medium and fat rolls

This advantage is distance.

Radahn Covers distance very well, and even more so in phase 2.

The distance a light roll covers more than makes up for the lower equipment load resulting in more damage taken. Do not be afraid to roll into the boss!

Moves like his Gravity Cyclone are safe to roll into the boss and punish with one free hit before his next action.

This guide is made under the assumption you are the main target of the boss. results may vary.

Gravity Cyclone the move where he jumps at the player spinning in purple before he slams on them most often is his opening move. this has a nice sound cue right before he slams for the player to roll towards X (UP)

(small tip for multiplayer sunbro's the moment you hear the lightning it is safe to enter as the fog gate has enough i-frames for the duration of this attack)

Bloodflame Slash the same move from mohg

Starcaller Cry The move where he uses gravity to vacuum players to him for a slam OR a slam that summons Rocks in a circle around him. The initial suction can be rolled but timing is tight. Roll back 3 times from wherever you are the light roll will give you the distance you need for escapes. Be wary as I have seen him use this multiple times in a row.

Meteor Summon the move where he bury's his swords in the ground with gravity magic just before taking off into the sky and summoning meteors that follow the player he is targeting.

Running Left or right and jumping when they look bigger/ right before they hit works or rolling 2 times at the same timing just commit to the direction you chose

Phase 1 Main sword swings

since light rolling gives you so much distance you can roll away from the boss but this doesn't give good punishment for him trying to give you an unwanted haircut

you want to roll in the direction the blade is coming from just make sure to roll twice as he attacks with both swords delayed after each swipe

if he is attacking from the right

Rarely Radahn pulls out a very quick swipe with both swords in front of him to hit what is at his feet

prolly cuz he's just mad that you're in his face. rolling backwards is the safest option here.

Lastly his Flipping Slam and Stomp rocks (summons rubble in a cone to roll catch you)

these are easily rolled by rolling left or right or diagonally towards the boss (better for the stomp)

rolling backwards works better with his flipping slam just get the timing down

Phase 2

Before I start If you have entertained my silly guide Thank you.

starting with the most troublesome ability I see hosts die to.

4 attack Combo the attack where he rushes you with an overhead slash followed by 2 right swings 2 left swings before he jumps and slams causing holy explosions after every swing and a massive aoe on the slam.

while backpedaling roll like this until he jumps up in the air for the slam.

Then when he jumps up for the slam roll into him (this will also prevent damage from his big AOE)

The Grab

if you are close to him try to roll diagonally

for you multiplayer bro's getting grabbed once is not so bad cause it allows the host to heal and prepare for some free hits as soon as he drops the player that was grabbed.

If not then just roll backwards

The surprise aoe the attack where he sends a large AOE out from him across the arena

best to roll into it

Holy Meteor Crash

the second most troublesome ability I see hosts struggle with. where he yeets himself into the sky to become a star before crashing down and exploding.

there are 3 ways of avoiding this.

option 1 run in the opposite direction he leapt from so towards an arena wall.

option 2 Listen for the sound cue (a holy bleep of sorts) and roll then roll again just slightly delayed timing is bit tight.

option 3 drink a physik or eat a consumable that reduces the damage from the next hit

Fakes of Radahn any of his attacks that send out fakes of him can be dodged easily by just rolling in this direction

Light of Miquella (the huge AOE that spawns on you)

if you were runnin or backpedaling in a direction when he started this just commit to that direction Or block if you have a shield. if this happen right when phase 2 starts untarget the boss and just head in the direction you are facing. having him targeted will curve your running path and make you less likely to escape his holy wrath.

Misc / Tl;dr

Don't skimp out on your scadutree upgrades these can double your damage and Revered Spirit ashes can halve the damage you take at full upgrades.

Consumables/ incants/spells that reduce damage taken or increase your damage are all good

even the lowliest form of divine fortification is a huge help in phase 2.

Attacking radahn while he is recovering from a previous attack can change agrro off his current target if you plan to attack always assume he can change target anytime. even his fake ghosts in phase 2 can stray from the main target for small chip damage onto you.
