The Actual Fix
_-INTRODUCTION-_
I was really, really disappointed when I launched Dishonored after Patch 1.02, you know, the "Knife of Dunwall" update. My precious "Infinite bodies fix" Crushed. No matter how I would edit the "DefaultAi.txt" It would keep happening: My foes bodies would vanish into oblivion, making any stealthy approach meaningless, because as long as you stunn dudes, you will be O.K. So I looked into the UDK and the Unreal Engine 3 coding, and "ported" the Bodies Disappearing Fix from Red Orchestra 2.
_-WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO-_
It is Simple. There are 2 Files that control the disappearing of bodies in this game. One being the DefaultAI.txt and the other one being the DishonoredAI.txt. Both files are located somewhere else, so let me show you where:
DefaultAI.txt: [YOUR HARD DRIVE]:\Program Files(86x)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dishonored\DishonoredGame\Config
DishonoredAI.txt: C:\Users\[YOUR PC USER NAME HERE]\Documents\my games\Dishonored\DishonoredGame\Config
So here is what you actually need to do to fix the annoying bug that occured for some people (like me) of not being able to apply the fix described in other guides/posts/forums. You need to sync these files like the following.
1. Open BOTH files, then change the lines "m_CorpseAbsoluteMaximumCount=10" TO "m_CorpseAbsoluteMaximumCount=100000"
"m_CorpseIdealMaximumCount=5" TO "m_CorpseIdealMaximumCount=50000"
P.S. Don't worry about your computer being too 'flat-chested' to actually handle those values. Unless you are not playing a full year of Dunwall City Trials "Back Alley Brawl" You will never recieve 9000+ corpses (Oh God, I pulled that lame pun again... where was I?)
2. Now start up the Game, And if you see a request for Dishonored to ignore the firewall, don't block it!
3. Now open DishonoredAI.txt WHILE the game is starting up. You will see that the numbers have reverted back to 5 and 10.
So what does that mean you have to go do? Change them back to 50000 and 100000.
4. Close Dishonored and check DefaultAI.txt for changes. Correct the file if necessary.
5. Run the game, slaughter some people and see if it works :D Then, have fun when corpses get spotted in your stealth run xD
By the way: Your Dunwall City Trials Stats will be blocked from the rankings. Still.
