The compy, in Dino D-Day, is an assassin and suicide bomber.Unfortunately the little fellow has little health, but to make up for that he has speed and a small profile. The compy's main feature, many would say, is his unique ability to kill himself along with enemies. The grenade on his back starts out weak, but thanks to German engineering, it gains power as the compy kills enemies with its claws.

There are two attacks that the compy can engage in, melee-claw attacking, and semi-ranged bombing. The former is done with the primary attack button, and the latter obviously the secondary/alternate attack button. The reason I list the compy as both an assassin and a suicide bomber is because the compy must, absolutely must,gain grenade power before he uses the bomb.

Tactics

There are two ways, generally, to play the compy: strictly an assassin or as an assassin-bomber.

I'll go into both ways as best as I can, but I am more versed in assassin-bombing than I am assassin only.

As a compy, the challenge is not to be hidden, but rather to not get shot. The compy's main weakness is that he is thin-skinned and easily dismantled in front on combat. The next weakness of a compy is that he is close quarters- strictly close quarters.

But the compy has every strength to combat these weaknesses: small profile, high speed, high attack speed, and a bomb. However, these strengths do require a certain finesse in order to keep the compy as a strong component to the team.

Let's keep these strengths and weaknesses in mind while discussing the assassin.

In order to be an effective assassin-compy, you must not be seen while being able to see everything. In other words, use the third-person point of view to your advantage. On some maps there may be stalls or bars that you may hide behind as the compy; do this, keep your body hidden and keep your eyes open: lesson one, invisible visibility.

The assassin-compy also needs to keep moving. When you leave your perch or nest, never stop moving until the target is dead. If multiple targets arrive, there is no shame in retreat. Pull back, find a different approach or wait for their backs to turn. Keep moving though: lesson two, fluidity.

When you strike, you must be unforgiving. When you start to harass your target, never let go of your primary attack button. Melee attacks are treated like fully automatic weapons, they fire repeatedly and unendingly. When you enter into a fray, never release your attack button until everything is dead: lesson three, relentless.

Assassin Summary1. Remain in dark places and in locations that will keep you concealed, but allow your third-person point of view to see the battlefield as is around you.

2. When you start moving, never stop moving until it is safe: every enemy must leave or die, or you must leave; do not hesitate to run away to safety; make sure to find a medic or health pack around the map to keep alive.

3. Never stop attacking; melee attacks repeat automatically and eternally so long as you hold down the attack button, do not stop attacking until your target is dead.

If you do not care as much about longevity of life, then you will have no qualms playing as an assassin-bombing compy. The assassin-bomber must play like the assassin but with a different focus. The assassin bomber must build up his detonation force.

To do this, you must get kills with your claws. Ideally you will always have at least three kills before you send yourself to valhalla.In some ways, you might live longer as an assassin-bomber because you must bide your time, pick your kills, make sure they are safe, and store up power.

The assassin-bomber usually does best by killing from behind. Use your team's battlefront as a distraction to get behind your enemy. Pick off stragglers and snipers as they are usually alone. Once you have three or more kills, find the largest conglomerate of enemy soldiers that you can, run into their midst and detonate.Having a power three or higher detonation will typically kill any character of the opposing team with little trouble.

Do not be afraid of giving your life. If you kill an enemy without taking damage, it typically does not record your death as a death on the stat board. Also, try and always go out with a bang. If you are taking damage and are near the enemy, try to detonate before you die- you lose nothing but a life, which you would anyway with them shooting you, and they at least lose health.

When you have at least three kills, your compy portrait in the bottom left will become aflame, and the grenade indicator in the bottom right will resemble a nuclear explosion. Try your damnded to wait for these before detonating- they are deadly.
