If you're gonna be a cult leader you gotta look like one!

Here is all the info about each individual fleece and what they do:

Fleece of the Lamb

A.K.A. Basic Starting Fleece

Provides no bonuses other than looking cute!

+ Looks Cute

- Does Nothing

Not much to say about this so let's move on to the next one!

Golden Fleece

A.K.A The most OP Fleece in the game

Damage dealt increases by 10% after each kill, but resets when hit. You also take double damage.

+ The strongest Fleece in the Game

- Only good if you're able to not get hit

What to say about this Fleece? This thing is easily the most broken/best fleece in the game depending how good you are at not getting hit. If you're going for the no-hit boss run, wear this Fleece, stick the game on easy and boom the achievements are now much easier.

There's also an easy cheese to boost your damage in the Anchordeep area involving an enemy that spawns out mini enemies who slowly float towards you that count as a kill for easy percent bonus (as long as you don't hurt the main enemy too much). It will infinitely spawn these mini enemies until you kill it so you could in theory kill as many as you feel like and get a crazy one hit damage multiplier for most enemies.

Fleece of the Glass Cannon

A.K.A The worst Fleece in the game

Curses deal double damage and cost half as much, but melee damage and health are halved.

- Only good if you like using your curse

- Half as much health/melee damage

If you're a person who loves to curse (which i'm sure you will be IRL using this one), then this Fleece sounds great until you realise that you only get half as much health and half as much damage with melee. There's not much I can say about this Fleece other than i'd recommend unlocking this Fleece last.

Fleece of the Diseased Heart

A.K.A The Extra Heart Lovers Fleece

Gain 1 Diseased heart every time you draw a Tarot Card (Max 1) but lose 100% of items if you die.

+ Extra heart when you draw a Tarot is always useful

- Not a bad Fleece but there are better options

This Fleece seems okay at first until you re read the description and realise that it said only a maximum of one diseased heart at a time, if it was a heart for every tarot card it would most likely be OP so this Fleece is pretty much middle tier. Looks cool though.

Fleece of the Fates

A.K.A The Non-OP Early Game Fleece

Draw 4 Tarot Cards at the start of a dungeon, but none can be drawn after.

+ Decent early game Fleece

- Not great for endgame players

This one right here is easily one of the coolest looking Fleeces in my opinion and it's a very good choice for early game as you mostly only go through 1 dungeon map at a time during the story before it sends you back to camp. Late game though this Fleece becomes more of a Nerf as you only get 4 Tarot Cards and you don't get to choose what ones you get so really it's a choice between having 4 buffs early or having more than 4 as you go level to level.

Fleece of Fragile Fortitude

A.K.A. The No Health Recovery Fleece

All Red Hearts will be replaced by 1.5x the amount of Blue Hearts.

+ More health

- No health recovery

Having more health is always useful, but this Fleece is probably bottom tier along with the Glass Cannon Fleece as if you take damage you can't recover it. The heart will disappear once it's fully depleted. It's probably better to keep your Red Hearts as they can be refilled and chests have a good chance of spawning them. It does have a pretty powerful combo though... more on that in the next section.

That being said...

Which order do I recommend getting the Fleeces?

My order goes a lil something like this;

Golden Fleece

Fleece of the Fates

Fleece of the Diseased Heart

Fleece of Fragile Fortitude

Glass Cannon Fleece

Moving on to your next piece of fashion...

The Crown

Next we're gonna talk about the Crown Upgrades!

These upgrades contain some of the best powers in the game, as they are earned by beating the four main bosses and using their heart to gain one.

So here are the four powers that you can get!

Resurrection

When killed on a Crusade run for the first time, sacrifice a Follower to be resurrected.

+ Let's you retry after a death

- Spawns you right where you died so you better roll quick

This one's an interesting one for sure! I got this one last as I only died a handful of times and I felt I didn't really need it. When you die it lets you choose a follower to sacrifice and each level of follower has a different amount of hearts that you can resurrect with.

Here are the hearts that each level of follower give;

Level 1 - 1 Red Heart

Level 2 - 2 Red Hearts

Level 3 - 3 Red Hearts

Level 4 - 4 Red Hearts

Elders give half a Red Heart and 1 full Blue Heart

They only go up as far as the amount of Red Hearts you have.

So about that powerful combo I mentioned the Fragile Fleece has, if you pair it with this power up and die with a really high ranking follower you can get a crazy amount of hearts;

Basically 1 Blue Heart per Level, I haven't found a cap to this but i'll definitely love to see if I or anyone else can reach it! Again the elders still are the worst ones to sacrifice this way as they only give 2 soul hearts.

The Hunger

Once a day eat a meal to receive a Blue Heart.

+ Extra hearts for as long as you're eating food every day

- If you don't remember to eat food then this is kind of useless

The Hunger is one of my favourite powers and I'd say it sits comfortably in second place as it's only slightly less useful than returning to your base with Omnipresence and depending on your memory slightly above Darkness Within as you can stack Blue Hearts every day as long as you remember to cook for yourself. The main downside is remembering to do it but also you have to choose carefully what you cook, as if the food makes you sick then you will lose either half a heart or a full heart. If you're wondering, the Deadly Dish won't kill you but it will take away a heart.

Omnipresence

Focus whilst on a Crusade run to instantly return to base.

+ Let's you return to your Cult at any point in a Dungeon

- Description says instant but it's not

This is the best choice for your first pick 100% as it basically allows you to return to your Cult anytime you feel like while in a dungeon with the only downside being that you lose 15% of items earned. Being able to return is so useful if you're worried you might die or if you want to "re-roll" the weapon and curse that spawns when you go on a Crusade. I can't tell you how many times I've had the gauntlets spawn and I've re-rolled to better weapons. The only small downside about this upgrade is that the description says instantly but it takes about 5-6 seconds to return.

Darkness Within

Recieve a Diseased Heart at the beginning of each Crusade run.

+ Gain an extra heart at the beginning of a Dungeon

This one's sort of similar to The Hunger but slightly weaker in a sense, as this one guarantees you a free Diseased Heart at the beginning of every run. However, The Hunger as mentioned above is just a better option. Still though this upgrade is pretty decent and there's not really any downsides to it, a decent choice for sure.

The order I recommend for Crown Upgrades;

Omnipresence

The Hunger

Darkness Within

Resurrection

Weapons (W.I.P)

The Definitive Guide to Cult Leading (WIP) image 158

The Definitive Guide to Cult Leading (WIP) image 175

And now for the second way of attacking, curses! These are magical abilities given to you that can help you escape a sticky situation if used correctly, and are usually used to push enemies away from you.

Death's Attendant

A devastating melee attack that will summon ghosts from slain enemies.

Maelstrom

Tentacles will strike out in four directions.

Thanks for reading my guide! I hope this has been helpful, or at least been an interesting read.
