Goat Time™
Small guide on how to play as the Goat from a new save file, without having to go through and unlock it first, in case you were like me and disappointed that it wasn't an option to start the game as Goat too. Does require a bit of save editing though...
1) Decrypt your save file. You can do this with this tool (should work with the latest version of the game): https://pentalex.github.io/COTL-SaveDecryptor/ (it also tells you where to find the save files, it is zero indexed so save file 1 is slot_0, save file 2 is slot_1, etc.)
NOTE: The decrypter automatically saves the file as slot_0, if your save file is on another slot make sure to change the 0 to 1 or 2 so you don't accidentally overwrite save file 1!
2) Open the newly decrypted save file using a text editor, can be just Notepad or anything else that can read .json files. It might take a bit, since there's a lot of text. May look like a lot at first, but all we're looking for are three values: "PlayerFleece", "PlayerVisualFleece", and "UnlockedFleeces".
3) Locate these values, using CTRL + F or just scrolling down until you see them. If you started a brand new save file, these should both be listed as a value of 0.
4) Replace the 0 in PlayerFleece and PlayerVisualFleece with "1003". This is the value for the Goat Fleece. It should look something like this:
"PlayerFleece":1003,"PlayerVisualFleece":1003
If you want to unlock the fleece itself in the crown menu so you can switch out your fleece later without losing the Goat, you can also add 1003 to your "UnlockedFleeces", which is right below the other two values. Example:
"UnlockedFleeces":[0,1003]
Also, I'm not too sure if this is a requirement, but just in case, also change the value "GoatFleeceOnboarded" to true
You can then save the file, then place it back into the game files, where you first found it, replacing the old one.
Load into the game, and TADA! You are now Goat!
