Is this (↑) your reaction after seeing images of Cool Long Cult Names such as the one here bellow?
But you already named your cult and that pesky character limit is in the way regardless?
If so this guide is the guide for you.
The How
To achieve such longness of name there are mainly 2 methods (that don't require mods), but both of them require save editing, so I recommend doing a back-up of your save file before attempting this.

Method 1
For the first method you will need to decrypt your save file; to do so head over to Pentalex's COTL Save Decyptor[pentalex.github.io] 's site:
Once there you should see this:
Put your save file in there and download the decrypted version.
Now open it in any text editor, I usally use Notepad++, but standard notepad should be fine.
This is what you'll see:
Press Crtl+F to open the search tab and search "CultName".
And change whatever your previous name was to a Cooler Longer One. (Remeber to keep it inside the quotes).
Save the modification and then slap the new save in the place of the old Long Nameless one. (The game will load it fine, but it will encrypt it once again)
Voila!!! You are now officially part of the Cool Long Cult Name Club.
Method 2
The second method is even more straight forward than the first as you won't need to decrypt the save.
Head over to this other site: COTL Save Editor[cotl-save-editor.vercel.app]
There all you will see initially is a whole lot of nothin':
Fear not. All you need to do is click on the folder icon on the top and insert your save file.
After that you should start seeing a lot of meaningless mumbo jumbo.
Once again look for the "CultName" and edit it.
Download the edited save and put it in its rightful place.
Doneso! Your cult's name is longer than it was earlier. The Lamb is very proud of it.
???'s Name [Spoiler's For Relics Of The Old Faith]
With the introduction of the Relics of the Old Faith Update a new name has been introduced and this time it's not only the character limit is still there, but it's also a permanent choice.
And is this guy's name:
You can change ???'s given name in the exact same way as for the Cult Name, all you have to do is look for the "MysticKeeperName" Value.
