Starting Out

Want to give a low cost of entry party (this isn't for madness runs)

Magnus - Solid warrior can keep reinforce up to take physical hits and can balance both offence and defense cards in his deck (Grukil can be unlocked in the green portal for a more fury or bleed offence warrior)

Thuls - This one will require an unlock through his spider queen quest. He is the best poison character by far currently and not a bad bard either if you really want to.

Evelyn - Able to apply several debuffs in mass while being a wonderful mana battery combo with her arcane conduit ability is a solid mage, Wilbur is a good book deck user but skills don't match up to arcane conduit imo.

Reginald - starter healer and the main direct heal focused of the four that can work in sanctify application as well, all around solid.

Make sure this isn't your first run so that you have some resources to claim at the start to grab some gear and edit your deck a bit. early Aoe builds can be very effective and allow you to do challenges to get a good head start. Pets will be a big help if you have them, Slimy for rangers poison, Mozzy to heal the warrior, Sharpy the harpy to help dispel debuffs on your back line.

As you go start removing cards that aren't helping apply status effects or mana in the case of the mage. by the second(if you have the town upgrades for magic altar) or third town you should be able to craft some epic cards.

Items

Items will play a major role in the build especially when it comes to apply debuffs

(epic shops)

Viper Ring - poison also applies Bleed

Virulent Ring - Bleed also does Poison

Fervent Ring - bleed applies Burn

Frost Fire ring - Chill Applies bleed

Justicar Ring - Sanctify applies burn

Side note - Hydra egg from green portal boss is useful regeneration builder for longer fights

While there are items for dark build up this status caps at a low number unable to take on bosses.

You will want to be applying at least two or more debuff in a large quantity double them often as the boss will counter at least one of them.

For the final boss your will want to make sure you have courage up to counter all the dark and holy damage it will apply as well as the reinforce on the warrior.

Aoe heals as well and sanctify and regen application should be able to keep your party alive better as the fight goes on. Mass dispel will also come in clutch.

You will need play hot potato with your martyr cards, they will slow and do minor damage some thing to take into account with your turn order planning.
