Ultimately if you want terra tokens rapidly, just farm portals. If you want a strong automated setup, go for pulsar quartz. But those are both end game activities and you may not have everything unlocked or the resources to set those systems up quite yet. In which case leaning into cloth or high quality food can help get you going in a very cheap and simple way. Bacteria samples are decent as well to be honest, and also fairly cheap. My main issue for a while was the investment of resources to get all the extractors going, it takes a lot of rods and drones to really get things moving, plus the travel time or teleporters to pull it off. It is worth it eventually, but some of the cheaper options are actually pretty good and I would recommend taking advantage of their simplicity.
If you're chasing the ending that requires 500,000 terra tokens, you may also want to consider selling your fuses to hit the amount needed. When you actually do the ending, it doesn't take the 500,000, so you can just re-purchase them after.
