The Bureau Endings Guide (there are technically 7 endings)

The Endings

Folks, this section will be HEAVILY SPOILER-taged (thus looking a lot like XCOM coverup!)

Leading up to potential ending 1

After the "Infiltrator" got loose, Carter tried to chase him down, only to be controlled by "Asaru", the blue Ethereal. Carter set a bomb, threaten mutual destruction if Asaru don't relinquish his body and go live inside the holding chamber.

Playing now as Asaru, the player has 30 seconds to decide whether to relinquish the body (eject) or not.

Potential Ending 1

If Asaru chose NOT to eject and the timer runs out, the bomb explodes, killing both Asaru and Carter, and the game ends.

Leading up to Potential endings A, B, and C

Asaru the Ethereal has ejected, but is now looking for a suitable host. The choices are

A -- Weir

B -- Weaver

C -- Faulke

Depending on who you choose, you are going down one of three paths, which I label A, B, and C.

The chosen will knock out Carter, and allow him- or herself be the new host of Asaru the Ethereal. And then it's time to evacuate the base and fight Origin's ship.

Whoever you chose will now have the same power as Carter did.

And now, one more branch...

Your attack on the ship with planned simultaneous three-prong assault was interrupted by escaped Carter. After fighting off assault on your position, both of the other two parties are requesting help, and you can only help one side (Carter, now without his powers, will help the other, and he will fail).

This creates dual branches for each of the 3 possibilities, for 6 potential endings

A1: You chose Weir, then Weaver, Faulke perished.

A2: You chose Weir, then Faulke, Weaver perished

B1: You chose Weaver, then Weir, Faulke perished.

B2: You chose Weaver, then Faulke, Weir perished.

C1: You chose Faulke, then Weir, Weaver perished.

C2: you chose Faulke, then Weaver, Weir perished.

For example: you chose Faulke to be the new host, then Weir (instead of Weaver) at the decision point. So you have ending C1.

The final endings

After several bitter fights, you fought your way to a secondary Mosaic interface, and managed to merge Asaru with Mosaic, destroying Origin and froze all attacking Outsiders everywhere.

A1 and A2

You chose Weir as the host. Weir, along with Asaru, controlled all the Outsiders to stop fighting, and help Earth rebuild (peacefully) before giving them a ship to let them find a new homeworld. Sleepwalkers are cured, and any Outsider tech are disassembled and hidden away.

B1 and B2

You chose Weaver as host. Weaver, with Asaru's help, forced the Outsiders to turn on each other and kill each other. Any evdience of Outsider presense and technology were destroyed or nuked. All sleepwalkers were euthanized as not to prolong their suffering.

C1 and C2

You chose Faulke as host. Faulke, with Asaru's help, enslaved the Outsiders to help rebuild Earth, then exterminated them. Some significant Outsider technologies were preserved and lead to major technological advances. All evidence of Outsider attack were covered up. Sleepwalkers were gathered up and kept alive to die on their own accord, but not cured.

And finally...

Asaru then willingly left the host and left for parts unknown. It is expected that Asaru may be back... one day.
