15.10.24
New tank added:
King Gallant - Mk. II
Fixes:
- Global mobility changes (every tank now has speed 90% close to original stats)
- small decorative and technical fixes and additions
Devitt - Mk. III
Starting with light tanks we have 3 vehicles on a single tank base, and the first of them all is Devitt - Mk. III
This little guy can reach max speed up to 30 km/h, and has a (somewhat) nice 32mm round armour, combined with rounded turret and a weak spot - the driver's "place". The 37mm cannon is more of an underwhelming, but still it's not as useless.
Trivia: The Devitt chassis is likely based on the French Cavalry tank the SOMUA S35 or its predecessor the Char D2
Devitt-Caine - Mk. IV
Unlike Mk. III, Caine uses a 105mm mortar as it's main arnament, and has an open-top turret, otherwise it's the same Mk. III tank
Devitt Ironhide - Mk. IV
A version on Mk. III, but with additional armour plates in front and sides on both hull and turret, and a moer powerful 40mm cannon in it's turret. All these bonuses come with a cost of it's max speed, so it resembles morely a middle tank than light.
King Spire - Mk. I
Being a small Scout tank, this little guy is packed with a 12,7mm (13mm) MG as it's only arnament, and a radio station on back of it's turret, providing better comunication with "teammases", otherwise you better choose a different machine if you want to get into a real battle. (of course only if you have it)
Trivia: The design of King Spire appears to be copied from italian L6/40 light tank.
King Gallant - Mk. II
This tank is a dedfinition of a phrase "it's not about the size, it's about how you use it". Being a slightly more armored and armed version of Spire, this tank can at least hit back, even tho it's 30mm cannon isn't great, but hey, still better than nothing.
Silverhand - Mk. IV
Thought being classified as a Middle tank, this guy is one of the largest tanks in the Foxhole and the collection! Thick front armour combined with two cannons - 68mm in hull and 40mm in turret, it's a good assault vehicle.
Trivia: Technicalities aside, the Silverhand does take clear influence from continental European models, noteably the Char B1 BIS heavy tank and experimental Großtraktor
Gallagher Outlaw - Mk. II
This tank right here might look like something a kid could've drawn in school, but this is actually a pretty reliable Cruiser tank, made for flanking attacks and ambushes.
Trivia: The hull design of this tank may be inspired by the British Cruiser, Mark VI Crusader Tank used in World War II, while the turret of this tank bears some resemblance to the early turret design of the German Tiger 1 Tank of World War II.
Flood - Mk. I
Being a Battle Heavy tank, this one is one of the most reliable and versatile tanks of them all, combining both thick armour on both sides and front, a powerful 75mm cannon and a max speed of 24 km/h, this machine can easily win an entire battle by itself, but only if crew is experienced enough!
Trivia: the Flood - Mk. I takes a huge resemblance from German Tiger I tank, with some hull parts taken from Soviet T-28 tank.
Flood Ascension - Mk. V
Saying simply, an Mk. I but with a longer barrel, providing better ballistics and penetration ability.
Silverhand Lordscar - Mk. X
An open-top tank destroyer version of Silverhand. Though making one of the hugest tanks a TD like that isn't the greatest idea, but hey, if it works - it works! It's 94,5mm (actually it's 94 because of the game limits) that was used before on battleships can penetrate nearly anything, except for one particular type of tanks.
Cullen Predator - Mk. III
And now, the Magnum Opus of the collection...
Behold! The monstrosity that outscales any other tank, and utilizes the same 94,5mm cannon as the Lordscar, with an addition of 2 turrets with quad mortars! (that are sadly fake on this model :()
But all comes with a cost - slow turret traverse, turning and moving speed and the back armour thickness.
Trivia: The design of the Cullen Predator - Mk. III appears to be based on the french FCM 2C super heavy tank.
