Collection of commands for tweaking performance and control settings that you won't find in the menus.

Info will be removed as new options are added to the game or if tweaks are no longer relevant.

There are a lot of native functions the developers need only make user-accessible. Shouldn't make people tweak configs just to turn off mouse acceleration, fix anti-aliasing, or run the game in borderless fullscreen.

How To

To use these, you need to make a game.cfg in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sniper Ghost Warrior 3\GameSDK

The commands you find in this guide should be pasted into the .cfg and saved.

Borderless Fullscreen

s_IgnoreWindowFocus = 1

r_fullscreen = 0

r_FullscreenWindow = 1

Framerate Cap

sys_maxfps = 75

It's recommended to cap game FPS, if you don't use Vsync. Uncapped makes the system components work harder and hotter because these games may push 300-1000 frames. Even for the best systems, this can cause stuttering. Your hardware just lasts longer if you at least cap frames to 75-100.

You could always use a driver utility to cap framerate, but this method works less for modern games.

Raw Mouse Input + Zoom Toggle

Visuals And Clarity

Textures

Image resolution and image filtering. Quality options 1-4.

Aniso filtering. 0-16.

r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 1536

Size of pool for streaming textures. Depends on your GPU vram.

1GB = 256

1.5GB = 512

2GB = 640

3GB = 1536.

This may fix pop-in issues.

Post-processing

r_MotionBlur = 0r_DepthOfField = 0

Motion blur and depth of field. Above will disable. DOF effects distant objects and ironsights, motion blur when turning or moving.

r_ChromaticAberration = 0r_HDRGrainAmount = 0

Disables color separation and film grain.

r_SSDO = 0r_HeightmapAO= 0

Screenspace directional occlusion (ambient occlusion). Heightmap is additonal for SSDO that can be disabled for more performance. Not sure if enabled by the game, but this tweak ensures more performance in case.

r_Antialiasingmode = 1

(NOTICE: May cause a black display in Contracts; remedy for me was saving the file, loading up the game, exiting, then removing the line and re-launching. the game kept the value enabled)

Anti-aliasing / edge-smoothing. 1-2. 1; SMAA. 2; SMAA + temporal filtering (default).

Don't set to 0. The game is bugged and 0 will cause flickering and lighting issues.

Models / Render distance / terrain

e_Tessellation = 0

Tessellation renders more polygons on models, making them less blocky. Disable if you need more performance or have AMD hardware.

Controls the distance, from the player, objects will use tessellation. Only add/tweak if you want to customize tessellation.

Controls how detailed distant objects will be.

Other

Physics quality and quality of omitted light beams. This will set them to max.

Most people want to use the above. More performance.

Screenspace reflections. Recommend to disable for low-end users.

r_silhouettePOM = 0

Parallax occlusion mapping. Recommend for low-end users with performance issues.
