Continoues game crashes / Overclocked gpu

For whom it may concern.

The past few days I was dealing with the game crashing on me, and until recently I wasn't able to figure out why it is crashing.

Identifying The Issue

You will need:

- Notepad++ (free)

- MSI Afterburner (free)

To identify the issue you must navigate to the pubg's logfiles which are under:

C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Logs

- to access this folder: press windows key -> type: %appdata% and hit enter.

When located open the .xml file with notepad++

- there will be alot of information, but improtant for you is the line: <ErrorMessage>

My ErrorMessage is the following on all 20+ crashes:

<ErrorMessage>LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\tsl\tsl-client-branch\build\UnrealEngine\Engine\Source\Runtime\Windows\D3D11RHI\Private\D3D11Util.cpp] [Line: 176] &nl;Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')&nl;</ErrorMessage>

After identifying the issue now we want to solve it, therefor some research is needed.

After 5 minutes of research I stumbled this topic:

which lead me to this topic:

*Side note: I recently bought a GTX 1080 Armor OC gpu, and since it's factory overclocked I decided to unvervolt my gpu.

After another quick research on how to undervolt the GTX 1080 with MSI Afterburner my game didnt crash a single time.

Since every gpu is different I urge you to do your own research on what clocks your gpu can handle under how many volts. For example I tuned my GTX 1080 to run on max. 1 volt and a clockspeed of 1790 mHz. (In advance: I do know I could go higher)

But as mentoined, you should NOT blindly just use my settings. Do your research. It wont take too long.

If this was helpfull to you, leave a thanks.
