You want your own albino animals as "little extra" for your zoos? Here I'll tell you how to get them!
Albino Animals Guide
Introduction
Welcome to this little guide!
I'll split it up into 3 parts, getting albinos in Franchise Mode, getting them in Sandbox and for exhibits, starting with the sandbox version.
But there is a little thing I have to say:
Not all of these are actual albinos. Take the lions for example! Though they have pretty white fur, their eyes are blue instead of red for actual albinos. And then there is our little jaguar friends who can get melanistic offsprings.
With that said, let's get to the breeding part!
Albinos In Sandbox
To get albinos in the sandbox mode.
I advise you take a look at where you want to show your special animals to your visitors.
Since you cannot take your animals from one sandbox zoo to another like in franchise mode, you should know where you want them to live.
Next step, you should take a look to your sandbox settings! You wanna go for the game section of the settings, there you find sandbox specific animal settings. Tick everything but aging and giving birth, you'll need that for obvious reasons.
Now that your settings are perfect for breeding animals quickly and super easily, we'll set up the breeding facility! To do that, place some staff rooms, keeper huts and a trading center. And don't forget the staff. Keepers and caretakers are enough already to get this up and running.
The next step is to build some enclosures. These can be as simple as you want, from only having a watersource to beautifully decorated withs enrichment items, ponds and plants everywhere. You can also find helpful setups in the workshop by typing "breeding" in the searchbar! :)
With everything built you need you can drop your animals in the enclosures and... wait. Just wait until you get your first shiny animals! The settings we prepared at the beginning allow us to just leave the game at maximum speed while we do whatever we want in the background.
I for my part continued to work on this guide and cleaned a 3D printer that's beeing used 24/7 for a week. What will you do while you wait?
Albinos In Franchise Mode
While getting albinos in Sandbox seems rather easy.
It is even easier in Franchise mode! Just check the market and buy them off, it's easier and less risky than using the Sandbox method in your franchise zoos. Plus you can send an animal you got in zoo A to zoo B and any of your franchise zoos you want!
Though it can mess around with your moneydos if you're looking for specific albino animals. Shiny animals like crocodilians, elephants and apes usually cost 10.000 conservation points on the market unless you get lucky. Other animals, warthogs and pronghorns for example, can even be cheaper than their normal colored versions! Crazy, isn't it?
I can't blame the people who put them up for high prices. Heck I'd put my white gorillas up for 10k too! But, you know, I prefer releasing my animals to get the conversation points.
If you still want to breed them yourself you can go for the Sandbox method, you just have to be more carefull on the animals and your money. I can tell you, 3 lion enclosures are not stonks!
For reference, I'll leave you a screenie of my franchise zoo I've build for everything, conversation point farming, albino breeding and community challanges.
Albinos In Exhibits
Now that you know how to get the big bois.
It's time to see where you can get the small ones! Other than other animals, exhibit animals like snakes and spiders cannot be send to other zoos, even in franchise mode. Another thing that makes breeding their shinies harder is the fact that you can only buy Frontiers exhibit animals. There is no global player market for them.
So What Do You Do?
Mass breeding and luck is the key. It is possible to get albino snakes and such from the market, but it is incredibly rare and I have only seen 2 of those on the exhibit animal market since release! With exhibit animals you can follow the same methods as with enclosure animals, just with more exhibits!
And a good thing is: You don't have to worry about wich animals you choose here in franchise mode, just get yourself 20 anacondas and go! Though in franchise mode, I advise having more than just exhibits, just to be safer on the money.
